  • LOL It's good but i prefer the original, because it's easy to cover, stones created this shit, and this version is too symphonic, it's supposed to be a conversation with the devil, a foolish but happy song, this one looks like an opening song for WWE

  • its not gnr > rolling stones

its not gnr < rolling stones

ITS GUNS N ROSES = ROLLING STONES

    its first grade math

  • i personally like this version better because i thing the original is too slow. but rolling stones ROCKKK!!!!!!!!

  • why the fuck has this song got so many dislikes

  • i love guns n roses

  • i think i actually prefer this to the original....

  • @beatleforce1 same

  • Comment removed

  • This is a good cover,

  • I think the R.S is better but this song is still pretty awsome compared to many covers i'v heard

  • Who gives a fuck whose version is better? All these people saying "they butchered a classic" well guess what, you do realise that the original artist has to approve of the cover before it can be recorded right? Fucking idiots. Yeah the stones version is best, why? Because its their damn song. Guns are one of the best hard rock bands in history, and if this was an original guns song, no one would call it a bad song.

  • @motley0crue12 no one could have said it better.. YEAH!!

  • I love this song! :D

  • what was slash's problem with this cover, its very decent!

  • @FantastyckplastycK axl rose replaced slash's guitar track with paul tobias' because paul was axl's childhood friend

  • GRS's did a great job on this. BUT THE STONES OWN AND KILLED IT.

  • @Poison2014 first of all don't fucking reply to my comment.I don't want to give this shitty song a view.Second its different. This is a total copy of Rolling Stones.Same lyrics only guitar tabs changed. So fuck you and grab your irony with you as well.Do not reply. This is the only song I don't like from GnR,so I don't want to hate it more

  • @GuitarAlex198 Well, yeah, the lyrics don't change. It's called a cover. Iced Earth's cover of Hallowed be thy Name didn't change the lyrics either.

  • gay version

  • well like Slash said, this is the sound of the band breaking up.

  • for those that they dont know this the last song old gnr played together...

i can now say that axl sympathized the devil more than the others... :/

  • @TheRakeraker And Slash wasn't even on it as Axl got his mate to do it and edited Slash out

  • @baldgitfromhull Slash is on it... What are you talking about? The other guy play's on it aswell.. It's 3 guitars

  • @baldgitfromhull What are you talking about? Slash is on this, Paul's guitar is layerd with Slash's. Listen to the solo, Slash's guitar is in the forefront while Paul's shadows what he is playing. Slash states in his book that he didn't like this and that it was like bad plagiarism.

  • Bah!

  • 813 dislikes from christians

  • slash is right, really does sound like the death of g n r

  • @rgjmce666 I think the whole UYI albums were the sound of the band breaking up....

  • @Dranzira use your illusion was only two albums and they were good, obviously not as good as appetite but different, everything after use your illusion was fairly sucky, especially the cover album

  • 811 peoples with cancer of ear

  • Thank you Guns N' Roses!

  • love song...!!!!!!!

  • guns n roses are legendary but rolling stones will forever be the kings of this song

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom "I was sitting by him one night and he suddenly told me: 'Father, when my grave is filled up crumble a piece of bread on it so that the sparrows may fly down; I shall hear and it will cheer me up not to be lying alone.'" "Well, now we will finish talking and go to his funeral dinner. Don't be put out at our eating pancakes -- Don't be put out at our eating pancakes- it's a very old custom and there's something nice in that!"

  • @czech698 Is that spam or poetry? Seriously, I can't tell.

  • i like it even more than rolling stones's version! sorry, but is the truth! <3 LONG LIFE GUNS!!

  • @marelias24 Yah, save they died when Axl decided to be an even bigger d-bag than usual.

Chinese democracy didn't happen and velvet revolver is more GnR than the "New" GNR...

  • Slash was right about this song....

  • @ojee123 What did Slash say? That they fucking mutilated and raped the corpse of a classic song? That they turned into shit which makes my ears bleed?

  • @redfiredragonslayer the sound of the band breaking up or that if there is a GNR song that he never would want to listen again then this would be it , there more in his book about it

  • Yet another massacred classic

  • Now that song haven't got soul :<

  • i've been listening to Guns n Roses since i was 3 and i'm 15 now. Best band ever if you ask me. Thumbs up you agree!

  • ESSA MUSICA É BEM MELHOR QUE A ORIGINAL, PARABENS AO GUNS

  • Sorry but i prefer Stones.

  • :( GnR ♥

  • the original and guns n roses version are both equally perfect,i mean the guns n roses is just like the same thing but ones faster,so cant we all get along.

oh and to redfiredragonslayer,go F yourself, cars salesmen,REALLY? hes so unattached his voice is shivering,i myself find the the stones version has the same amount of coldness as this one,so your insulting The Rolling Stones by saying that also. shame on you for insulting the Stones man!

    ~case CLOSED~ (period.)

  • The more I listen to this song, the more I like it. 5th time now.

You wanna talk bad covers? Go to the show Glee. But this is really good.

  • First, I like it.

Next, this was back in 1994. The tension within the band was so high, and obviously got higher when Axl mentioned that for the next GnR record he wanted another guitarist on it. In 95 the band officially broke up. So the focus was not 100% on the music.

  • Guns N' Roses took one of the greatest songs of all time, strangled it, sexually abused its corpse, mutilated its dead body, ate the remains, and proceeded to shit them out. Who the fuck do Guns' N Roses think they are? This is the most acrid pile of shit I have heard in a while.

  • @redfiredragonslayer ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING ? I CONSIDER THIS SONG EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. DONT INSULT THIS AWESOME SONG AND RESPECT IT, IF YOU DONT LIKE IT JUST SHUT UT.

  • @redfiredragonslayer I'm actually curious about something now. What did you think of "Spaghetti Incident"? I thought that was a kick ass album and the vast majority of the covers were very respectful and great. Thumbs up for Duff on that.

  • @OnlyForAngels I thought the Spaghetti Incident was mediocre. But this is appalling. Axl fails to capture the soul of the original song. I don't think he understands the character of the lyrics. The backing music sounds like shit you would hear on an advert for disneyland or something. And the singing, my god, the singing, is atrocious. At the beginning he sounds like a car salesman or something; he fails to capture the detached, cold ruthlessness heard in the original.

  • @redfiredragonslayer personally when bands do cover versions i hate to hear a slavish imitation of the original . they should put some of themselves into it. it is very rare that a cover version is better then the original and no guns and roses have not out played the stones here but that being said i do like this version of this song .

  • they took the best song of all time and did..... this

  • well just think of it this way... The Stones had to give the permission to use this song so obviously they liked it..... just as any remake fools

  • It's the same song but this and the original have a very different style and composition. Not as noticeably different as Cash's cover of Hurt but still two different songs. Both equally good in my opinion. You preference in style will dictate which is your ultimate favorite or if you just enjoy both like me.

  • Most cover tunes are awful not even close to the original. But I do like this version even if you do compare it to Stones.

  • disse la vacca al mulo oggi ti puzza il culo.

disse il mulo alla vacca: ho appena fatto la cacca.

  • a 3000 giocaci sempre ;)

  • Fate paura compà!

  • Hate to admit it, but this is one of the few songs where the cover is actually better than the original (hang my head in shame at feeling this way). It is really sad that with most of the songs I believe this to be true, the original artists are freakin incredible, but somehow someone else just does it better....

  • @maxamillion1976 sure it can be done better, but the stones still have the honor of being the creators of this great piece of music, they made this.

And why shame? Guns n roses have some awesome tracks aswell

  • niente da dire sulla chitarra, ma le voci di jagger e di axl rose non sono nemmeno comparabili... - nothing to say on slash's guitar, but jagger's and axl rose's are not comparable at all...

    LONG LIVE MICK JAGGER!!!

  • this version is MUCH BETTER than rolling stones version

  • @Delcatty4773 no offense but this version is NO WHERE NEAR as good as the original but good band though

  • The only thing that doesn't suck on this song is the drum track.

  • Interview with a Vampire went quite well with this song.

  • @klous999 Just perfect. And a GNR Time On My Side cover would work well for The Vampire Lestat.

  • @CJDiggs omg did you read those books too??

    they're so amazingg!

  • last guns n roses song...(the real guns n roses)

  • rip Guns N' Roses [*] why ? why ? why...?

  • AXL ROSE WHY BEING ASSHOLE?????

  • i love axl's voice

  • lol this is what youtube was made for ;p

  • WTF!?!?

omfg, i would never guess that GUNS N' ROSES would ever in a million years do a rolling stones cover! And seriusly, this would never fit in as a guns n' roses song... xO

  • This song makes me so happy I honestly feel like I could start crying.

  • @Phantomguise This song makes me so angry I honestly feel like I could start crying.

  • Am I the only one who loves this song?

  • @tazzerz1763

    No, you aren't!

  • did anyone else here fuck you at 7:20 XD

  • What album is this track on?

  • @maori4s none, its for a film

  • @maori4s this song is track 14 on the guns n roses greatest hits album, but the album its originally on the album is the soundtrack for the movie interview with the vampire.

  • @maori4s i made a mistake there i meant to say the song is on the interview with the vampire soundtrack.

  • @7:35 "Don't forget to drink your milk." XD

  • The ending is a descent into hell. I like this version. A lot.

  • @AkzulSaulie1993 Were the band was quickly descending at that time.

  • Much better than Rolling stones version

  • Love the rolling stones but im sorry, Axl actually sounds like the devil singing this song. Stones have enough amazing songs, my top vote goes to the roses on this one hope im not the only one.

  • better than stones

  • Love It.

  • ....no comment...

  • Que piinche mugrero, maldito Axl la tuvo que arruinar

  • This fucking blows, I mean Guns N Roses is good, by this is completely different from the Original, which is better.

  • Comment removed

  • it's an awesome song who cares who does it

  • This version all the way baby

  • @rej1cry Fuck you. This is a total ripoff of Rolling Stones original one

  • @GuitarAlex198 Yeah, and I guess you think that GN'Rs Knocking on Heaven's Door, Jimi's All Along The Watchtower, Clapton's I Shot the Sheriff and Metallica's Whiskey in the Jar are also ''total ripoffs''?

  • @andybirger Yes in fact I do cause Guns and Roses are so dumb that they can't even think of a proper song. They only copy others people's songs and make them "their own way".Srsly who the fuck does this.In all my life listening to rock bands like Pearl Jam,ACDC,Led Zep and more not a single fucking band stole content from another band or even IF they did they didn't copy like 4-5 or even 6 songs!

  • @GuitarAlex198 AC/DC has covered Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode and Pearl Jam has done Ramones' I belive in Miracles. ''Whole Lotta Love'' is a ripoff from Willie Dixon's ''You Need Love''. And I bet you also hate Ozzy Osbourne since he also has an album full of covers. And Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pantera, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Eri Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, L.A. Guns, Five Finger Deah Punch... So sad.

They're all so good, but you have to hate them. Ripoffs.

  • @andybirger Oh the sarcasm!I did say that I didn't know if they have a cover and if they do they have one!Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love is 100% different than Willie's Dixon, different genre of music different rythm.Guns and roses songs are just like the originals with the only difference, the vocals other guitars and so.The term of ripoff is sb who makes the owning of somebody a joke.I use it by meaning its excactly the same.Dude Ozzy MADE an album full of covers...

  • @GuitarAlex198 It just seems like you're a fanboy, since you hate GN'R because of their cover album, but still love everybody else even though they would actually ripoff somebody's songs totally. Guns N Roses has difference, the guitar lines, the speed, sometimes even the lyrics... They have changed them! They also made a cover album (Spaghetti Incident?) and it is just as much ''different from original'' as Ozzy's. And Whole Lotta Love is a ripoff, they admitted it.

  • @andybirger Sorry I can't post another comment. That big it says error try again,so I take my hat off to you because I didn't know that Spaghetti stuff and didn't know that they admitted Whole Lotta Love, just for now....Btw I haven't got that much xp because Im 13(make fun of me as much as you want)

  • @GuitarAlex198 It's OK, I'm only 14 myself. I think that everybody has their rights to tribute their favourite bands. That's why they do covers. To salute them. Like, Duff from GN'R is a huge punk fan which is why the record has many punk songs. It's not like they're making it because it's good and getting all fame from others' songs. And Led Zep actually admited it just after the thing became public.

  • @GuitarAlex198 I suppose you think "Train kept a'rollin" is just a yardbirds ripoff too

  • @GuitarAlex198 Dude... Sweet Child O' Mine.. Paradise City. Rocket Queen, Patience, 14 Years.. Fucking Nightrain? Those are all pretty original.. Seems to me you need to study before you make a rash statement.. Next time you'll know so it's okay

  • @gee645 I love GnR besides this song.I like the Rolling Stones version better.I know I made a quick choice

  • this sounds like a hippie verson of the song,i prefer the stones versoin

  • Rolling Roses - Sympathy for the child

  • easy to talk without sing slash

  • I hate when people do covers of classic songs, classics should be left alone to be a classic. Not saying this version is bad but The Rolling Stones version is much better, no-one can beat the brilliant original.

  • @EmotionIsMyFriend classic songs are the source for music to develop!!!

  • @EmotionIsMyFriend Why must a cover try to "BEAT" the original? The thing most little kids seem to miss is that music to an artist is not about out doing your muses/heroes/subjects. It is all about your own artistic views. This version is far enough different that it is basically a different song. It is THEIR song. When I hear this I hear their song, I do not hear a half assed attempt at singing someone else's song. Kids need to stop whining as if GNR tried to copy over every Stone's CD of this.

  • @WhiteTiger225

I'm not actually a 'little kid', I'm nearly 18 years old so don't talk to me like I'm 5. And if you believe that then fair enough, that's your opinion. I simply voiced my opinion, that's what the comments section is for. I'm entitled to my own opinion as much as you or anyone else. So, don't act like you're the only one whose not a 'little kid'. A 'little kid' is not an 18 year old in my book, so don't treat me like I don't know what real music is, thank you very much.

  • @EmotionIsMyFriend I remember when I was 18, not having gone through college, and thinking I knew the world with an unbiased view. Science itself is an art of the mind. So does one researcher using anothers research, to get better results, ripping off that scientist? Should he leave that classic research alone, and start from scratch? Should every physicist not Read Stephen Hawking's research? "classic - something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read."

  • This version is way better then the stones one, i totally agree with kraytdragonpearlz.. They tuned the rock meter 70 percent up where stones was 30 :)

  • @msp201985 fuck you

  • A gravação feita pelo Rolling Stones é bem melhor!!!

  • They didn't ruin it, they just turned the rock meter up 70 percent

  • i think it's a great song... Slash said that's the greatest crap that they ever played with Guns and you can feel a lot of stress in it. but i still love that becouse it's a fuckin real original Guns song after all. stress and chaos can inspire musicians to a very discrete way of playing. this song shows it very well. LOVE THAT!

  • You know, I prefer the simplicity of the rolling stones version's music, but I like the feeling that gnr puts into singing this one... get rid of the jungle sound crap :O

  • if you like the rolling stones version :D

  • "Wanna hear what the breaking up of a band sounds like? Listen to our 'Stones cover..." - Slash

  • @blurraptor22

No slash, you thought your material for Slash's Snakepit should of been the new gnr record after illusions.

  • @ThePercyPigeon1 mate, it doesnt matter what he thought, the only person allowed to make an input was axl and his lackeys

  • @xNIK42

All i know is Slash talked to the media a awful lot around the time this song was released, basically just to promote slash snakepit and i don't think axl ever forgive him for some comments. Slash has become media friendly and the public eats up every comment.

  • @blurraptor22 Well, this is the best version, so i don't know why Slash was complaining.

  • @blurraptor22 "It is the final Guns N' Roses single to feature Slash on lead guitar," It is not because this is awful, but because slash is a whiney prat. Damn good guitarist, but whiney and demanding none-the-less. I don't see why people hate on this. A cover is not a 1 up, it is just the Artist's touch on a CLASSIC (So more a compliment). Unless of course... It Insult's the original artist's views and meaning.. like.. say... Hannah Montanna/Miley cirus doing Smells Like Teen Spirit?

  • @blurraptor22 this quote is absolute bollocks. There's no evidence to suggest this.

  • @pulpretail slash left the band in response to Axl not using his guitar track in this song... i would say that's enough evidence

  • @blurraptor22 In his book he says "If you've ever wondered what the sound of a band breaking up sounds like, listen to the Guns n Roses cover of Sympathy For The Devil"

As soon as I read it I came straight onto Youtube to see what he meant haha

  • @blurraptor22 - Media Whore trying to keep attention on him to help his own career Fixed that for ya :D

  • rip off and it sucks

  • rip off

  • I would say which one I like, but then again who gives a shit.

  • WHATTHEFUCKISTHISDISCRACELEAVEITTOTHEROLLINGSTONESGODDAMNIT!!!!!!!!

  • ''that's the sound of guns n roses breaking up right there'' - Slash.

  • I like both.

  • I like rolling stones a lot, but this version is in my opinion, better :)

  • best cover for lestat

  • Maybe the Rolling Stone version of this song is better... Maybe. But I better prefer that interpretation of "Sympathy...".

  • What sort of shit is this? Shameful bollox.

  • @EdgyAtheist Rolling Stones version is much better

  • The rolling stones version is much better this version is crap

  • gotta luv gnr...appetite for destruction was the best album ever produced during my lifetime born in 74

  • i dont like it when mcdonald fucks up my order otherwise i like the twist of the song. and big butts i like them too. and boobies those are also on my like list. but if mcdonalds fucks up my order again im just going to fucking snap

  • Not better than the Original, but a great twist. Have not heard one I have like until now.

  • I dont like this version becouse Axl let paul tobias play guitar to.... Without saying anything to some on!

  • I actually like this cover. I mean Stones version was better. It was a classic. But this version is awesome.

  • I like both versions. U mad, fanboys?

    U mad.

  • i prefer orginal rolling stones version

  • @historomaniak Then what are you listening to this for?

  • its very good version... guns are sons of stones age... slash is my best guitarist... rockers are one big family, they love their bands for many years...its not like pop radio stars, 20 times per day on stations... stars, which everybody hate after 2 years... rock songs live forever, 99% of pop songs for 1-2 years... enjoy art... feel art of great guitars...

  • imo best version. love the solo. on par with free bird, comfortably numb and nov.rain

  • "Izzy had some good bass work"

Duff was the bassist. Don't be a retard. Stradlin was a one-album part timer.

Get it right or shut up.

  • Comment removed

  • To Quote Slash in VH1's Behind The Music: Guns N' Roses, "This is the sound of the band(Guns N' Roses) breaking up!!!"

  • he got also pissed when he found out that axl had let Paul Huge (paul tobias) play something over the solo too.

  • this song was recorded when the band were breaking up. Slash says in his book, if there is one song he won't here again, its this recording.

  • Comment removed

  • Awful....!! You can't improve on the original and best... Get stuffed Axl... absolute rubbish...

  • i like the version of the guns n roses

  • Anytime better than the original..GnR\m/!!

  • Old men like me love to re visit old songs, this is a great cover, but I would have expected GNR to not copy the 'Stones arrangement, try again, guys you can improve a great song!
