@rgjmce666 I'm not denying that they weren't good but as a whole the album (thinking of UYI as one big album) can be divided up into Axl songs, Slash songs and Izzy songs. There was no set "sound" or style between the songs and they didn't flow as an album like AFD did. This was because they were starting to have trouble writing songs together as a band and in the it ended up sounding like their 'the White album'.
That is why I think UYI albums were the sound of the band breaking up.

The backing music sounds like shit you would hear on an advert for disneyland or something. And the singing, my god, the singing, is atrocious. At the beginning he sounds like a car salesman or something; he fails to capture the detached, cold ruthlessness heard in the original.
@redfiredragonslayer personally when bands do cover versions i hate to hear a slavish imitation of the original . they should put some of themselves into it. it is very rare that a cover version is better then the original and no guns and roses have not out played the stones here but that being said i do like this version of this song .
It's the same song but this and the original have a very different style and composition. Not as noticeably different as Cash's cover of Hurt but still two different songs. Both equally good in my opinion. You preference in style will dictate which is your ultimate favorite or if you just enjoy both like me.
Hate to admit it, but this is one of the few songs where the cover is actually better than the original (hang my head in shame at feeling this way). It is really sad that with most of the songs I believe this to be true, the original artists are freakin incredible, but somehow someone else just does it better....

@andybirger Yes in fact I do cause Guns and Roses are so dumb that they can't even think of a proper song.They only copy others people's songs and make them "their own way".Srsly who the fuck does this.In all my life listening to rock bands like Pearl Jam,ACDC,Led Zep and more not a single fucking band stole content from another band or even IF they did they didn't copy like 4-5 or even 6 songs!

@GuitarAlex198 AC/DC has covered Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode and Pearl Jam has done Ramones' I belive in Miracles. ''Whole Lotta Love'' is a ripoff from Willie Dixon's ''You Need Love''. And I bet you also hate Ozzy Osbourne since he also has an album full of covers. And Metallica, Megadeth, Nirvana, Pantera, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Eri Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, L.A. Guns, Five Finger Deah Punch... So sad.
They're all so good, but you have to hate them. Ripoffs.

@andybirger Oh the sarcasm!I did say that I didn't know if they have a cover and if they do they have one!Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love is 100% different than Willie's Dixon,different genre of music different rythm.Guns and roses songs are just like the originals with the only difference,the vocals other guitars and so.The term of ripoff is sb who makes the owning of somebody a joke.I use it by meaning its excactly the same.Dude Ozzy MADE an album full of covers...

Guns N Roses has difference, the guitar lines, the speed, sometimes even the lyrics... They have changed them! They also made a cover album (Spaghetti Incident?) and it is just as much ''different from original'' as Ozzy's. And Whole Lotta Love is a ripoff, they admitted it.

@GuitarAlex198 It's OK, I'm only 14 myself. I think that everybody has their rights to tribute their favourite bands. That's why they do covers. To salute them. Like, Duff from GN'R is a huge punk fan which is why the record has many punk songs. It's not like they're making it because it's good and getting all fame from others' songs. And Led Zep actually admited it just after the thing became public.

I hate when people do covers of classic songs, classics should be left alone to be a classic. Not saying this version is bad but The Rolling Stones version is much better, no-one can beat the brilliant original.

@EmotionIsMyFriend Why must a cover try to "BEAT" the original? The thing most little kids seem to miss is that music to an artist is not about out doing your muses/heroes/subjects. It is all about your own artistic views. This version is far enough different that it is basically a different song. It is THEIR song. When I hear this I hear their song, I do not hear a half assed attempt at singing someone else's song. Kids need to stop whining as if GNR tried to copy over every Stone's CD of this.

i think it's a great song... Slash said that's the greatest crap that they ever played with Guns and you can feel a lot of stress in it. but i still love that becouse it's a fuckin real original Guns song after all. stress and chaos can inspire musicians to a very discrete way of playing. this song shows it very well. LOVE THAT!

its very good version... guns are sons of stones age... slash is my best guitarist... rockers are one big family, they love their bands for many years...its not like pop radio stars, 20 times per day on stations... stars, which everybody hate after 2 years... rock songs live forever, 99% of pop songs for 1-2 years... enjoy art... feel art of great guitars...
