  • Can somebody explain the ending? Is that Jack Torrance in another life where he was the owner/caretaker of the Overlook, and then we see him being brought back there again in his next life to take care of it???

  • @niloh96 He has always been a part of the Over Look Hotel! IDK just a movie, good movie mind you tho!

  • haha, look at your ego..it's so cute.

  • you wish you were as sexy as he is.

  • @wannabesleepy Was this aimed at me? It can't be, cause you KNOW I am on another level than this chuuuuump when it comes to looks.

  • wow jack,already there in the 1921?

  • No os gusta ese maravilloso sonido añejo a gramófono...cause goods things NEVER DIE

  • You were always the caretaker.

  • Wish I was in the 20s

  • the overlook takes back its evil spirits..and everyone who tries to stop it will be corrrected ^^

  • You know, for an evil hotel, it doesn't seem to bad. Sure, you die, but you get to listen to jazz, dance forever in the Gold Room, and free drink.

Sounds like my perfect vision of peace.

  • Why not have the 4th of July take place in 1934 instead of 1921?

  • BEST QUALITY VERSION ON THE ENTIRE SITE!!

Great sound with reduced recording flaw (that apparently all versions have) and with original fade out after ballroom "commotion" and applause.

Also, you won't hear any snips of other songs abruptly clipped.

    Much thanks for posting it.

  • Killer Ending... Song was from 1930

  • I corrrrected her.

  • 3:21 onward....

    O_o

  • Since I started performing on the ukulele, I do a lot of this type of music now. I don't do this song specifically but I suppose I should learn it and see if anyone recognizes it.

  • You're the care taker. You've always been the care taker.

  • just plain creepy. nuff said.

  • Lovely music. Perfect ending to the film. Stanley Kubric a genius. Jack Nicholson a tour de force performance, and Shelley Duvall. Love it.

  • Song does seem quite creepy yet so hauntingly romantic at the same time. That's probably why Stanley Kubrik chose these Bowlly/Noble British songs for this movie... So many movies try to recreate a creepy, haunting 1930's or 1940's sound to go with their scary images and it doesn't work. They usually play a Benny Goodman or Glenn Miller tune which is far to upbeat and lighthearted! This song instantly transports you into a glamorous 1920's or 30's ballroom like in the movie...

  • @swilliams9213 agree.

  • @wannabesleepy I disagree.

  • @GothamzJoker and why is that?

  • @wannabesleepy I wasn't really sure what I was disagreeing to, just wanted to disagree with you...ha!

  • you are the caretaker you have always been the caretaker

  • does anyone besides me get creeped out by this music?

  • @NinerPoolGirl It reminds me of the Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror rides at the Disney Parks.. I love it! XD

  • @NinerPoolGirl I certainly do have an uncomfortable feeling about this music. It's very unsettling and I can't quite put my finger on how it disturbs me.

  • @00nick7 I think its because its such a pleasent song. And when you see the movie you realize the evil that taking place.

  • it makes you uncomfortable because its about ghosts.

  • Has there ever been any sequals to The Shining?

  • @MattT1996 not yet, but King has said that he's got a sequel planned out and it's about Danny working in a hospice

  • @kilnorc Seriously???

  • @NinerPoolGirl Seriously, hand to God Himself!

  • @kilnorc NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
