we use castnet all the time, for baitfish, everything else we throw back, ya ppl just jelly we catch more fish than your store bought fatheads n crappie minnows :D:D:D
They're fairly small fish judging by the size of his foot so being crushed underneath a 200 pound human would probably be one of the more pleasant/quicker ways it could die. Unless being violently pulled out of the water and eaten alive by a predator provided it didn't asphyxiate before then or succumbing to a disease is somehow more pleasant?
Fish are incredibly tough I agree with on that. Went fishing one time and was too slow on setting the hook and ended up having to use needle nose pliers because the poor thing damn near swallowed the hook completely(still not sure how such a small trout could fit a hook that even the biggest trout I've caught have never swallowed)
It lived and swam like away like "I ain't even made".
@Migopower Nets have been used long before you were born and long before modern civilization. In fact, it was probably a fisherman who used a net, caught some fish, and sustained our ancestors, which enabled your ass to be born. There were REAL fisherman long before they invented a Shimano Spinning Reel and GLoomis rod!
@BlackAnvil47 Keeping them is illegal, what this guy did was well within the boundries of wildlife law in most, if not all, states. He was a little rough on them while kicking them back into the water. It was still pretty neat to watch.
@Jedhaase If you ever threw a net, you would discover quickly that you sometimes get "bycatch", which is fish you either don't want or can't keep. I happen to catch the Crappie when targeting Shad. It happens. I don't want them and can't keep them, but it was still worth posting the video because it is fun to share. That's "the point".
@ricoco750 Yeah, I patiently caught all those crappie on hook and line, kept them all alive, carefully put them in my cast net one at a time, closed the net and sank it to the bottom of the lake, pretended to throw the net, hired bystanders to make comments, and after all that work I then released all the fish back into the water. You must be a genius to have known this was a "fake camera cut". I just can't "put one over" a smart guy like you can I? LmaO....
Well not only is it against the Law to catch Crappie in a cast net, but why don't you go ahaed and kick harder next time when you are kicking them back in the water?
@mahaneydr You have never thrown a cast net much have ya? Nor do you fish much eh? If I could just go and catch exactly what I was after in my cast net I would do it. Unfortunately, they call it FISHING not CATCHING. You never know what's going to show up in your net.
@FreeFishingLessons dude that was epic! fuck these assholes who have no clue how hard it is to cast a net much less catch all those fish. if it was the end of days, id like to be your friend.
@fishermannoah shit son i would gave em to the black guy just because somthing is illigal dosnt make it right they should allow cast net fishing for alot of fish and just set a limit thats all heck in our area there is no limit in crappie id would just kept 6-7 for my self for shore lunch and gave the rest to the black guy to help feed him and his family
@bobevanbob2 I love to fish those docks with a jig... but that day was all about catching shad for wiper bait. The crappie was an incidental catch! It was fun to see al those crappie in one cast though!
Cool, cool! I love pitching a cast net. Ive had some big throws on mullets, jacks, and shrimp. I love castnetting, very fun. Ill have to post some vids pitching a cast net on some mullets. Thanks for the vids, pretty cool man.

@BlackAnvil47 No Mr. Tard using a new is perfectly legal, keeping gamefish caught in the net is illegal. Therefore what he did was fine. Get a clue.

@ThatOGDon fish are really hard to kill, plus stepping on the tail would almost certainly not be enough to kill it.

Rewatched the video and I saw him step on a fish.
Agreed, should have just used his hands...

it would have been funny if a conservation officer was just walking by and saw all those fish in possession. woulda been a big fine.
