  • Y U NO DO MORE EPISODES?? ):

  • I give my vote to the Balkan campaign.

  • I think fighting in the Balkans would be better to see as it would be easier and nobody really focus on the fighting there but everybody knows about North Africa because the U.S.A came in there with the armies of the commen wealth. Plus it is true there is more maneuverability in there even if there is more mountains.

  • one by one and you need not engage with your own battleships in a costly seabattle. However the brits have a submarine too. Since submarines cant fight each other, you can (when all is safe, royal navy destroyers all sunk) use your own submarine to block the english one between the coast and yours, so it is no danger anymore.

Submarines have a nasty chance to evade both destroyer and tact bomber attacks, so they are hard to kill. Submarines can block ground units from driving on the coast road.

  • infantry. However they have low defense, so bombing and strafing works nice, AND they have only 2 shots, so you can use 2 italians on suicide attacks on them, then use a third unit with no risk. I need to tell you about submarines, as you never had seacombat before. Submarines can only be attacked by patrol boats, destroyers or tactical bombers. They can only be spotted if you move adjacent to them. if you kill the enemy destroyers, with say bombers, your submarine can sink the battleships

  • Im very excited and am looking forward to see how you will deal with these yugoslavs and greeks. One more tip about them: They can (and yugoslavs mostly do) build partisan infantry. They look the same as regulars, so inspect closely! the partisans have a formidable spot range, so watch that before you drive your precious units in vulnerable trucks around! Armored transports are safe though. The partisans have also very high initiative, so they can actually shoot first even against experienced

  • amphib invasion and capture south part of greece from behind. You can send italian infantry from mainland italy to try the same (but your transports are limited to 3 so you cant do both), but the italians will not only need their navy but also strong airsupport to have success. If you engage with the navy in a seafight, you will have losses if you have not overwhelming airforce too, so forget amphib invasions then, the navy will be too weak. Only brits have air defense, last happy times for air

  • send the italian navy north ignoring the brits altogether, if the airforce can sink the royal navy. That way you have nice artillery support for the coast towns to capture. The italian army has a much easier job then. You can send the italian navy south of greece to bombard the coast, avoiding a seafight altogether (the royal navy will bombard italians in greece most of the time). If you clear the greek fortifications in the east, you could ship some engineers across the sea to attack in

  • the italian have one great lvlbomber unit though, it has long range, nice ship attack and is like immune to ground fire, keep that alive. Send it to the british/greek front asa you killed their airforce (or keep it escorted). If you really have not your own lvlbombers, use that bomber to hunt british ships and support the italian navy.

About the navy: You can use them fight the royal navy, you can wait till you cleared the RAF and bomb the royal navy first, assisting with the italians, you could

  • You will have to decide what to do with the italians. First, their airforce is crappy and has low range. Especially the tactical bombers, who have somewhat nice stats, need refuel after nearly every attack. keep an eye on that. The airforce in southern italy has limited range as well, i would recommend to change base to north italy first, then after refueling send them over the sea to the fighting in north yougoslavia. remember to strafe alot, use the fighters to scout out targets for the bomber

  • Or you can get stukas and bomb the poor yugoslavs, who cant build air defense, into rubble. And since they cant build fighters as well, your stukas dont even need escorts, if you keep them in the north at the start of the map. If you dont have the prestige for both, i would advise to build the stukas first. Later i would buy at least 1 Lvl Bomber to deal with the brit navy. You have engineers and the greek are dug in in the east, so thats the perfect place for your infantry and artillery.

  • If you play balkans, and i hope you will stick to it, you need to upgrade your fighters to FW190, and keep them in the south near the brits. Then you need to buy air stuff. Your ground forces are pretty good for now, they could need all armored transports, but you should keep that for later. With air stuff i mean either lvl bombers Ju88s, they are great for sinking ships, and guess what there is the royal navy for target practice. However you need to have shot down the brits from the sky.

  • 53:00 You should always prefer your core fighters as strafing units on a river and not the tactical bomber that will leave you after this map, because he is auxiliary

  • just like if you capture the city from an enemy. However it must be an unmounted infantry. Tanks can do nothing there. The reason why this didnt happen before might be that you never bombed nonobjective cities with lvlbombers before, or the enemy has had always unmounted infantry in these targets, so obviously the city cant loose the flag, as long as there is an infantry inside. the AT gun at 43:00 that attacked your infantry is one of those 75mm ones that already cost you one unit, so....

  • That city that turned red is bombed to ruins, temporary. I think i mentioned in another episode, what lvl bombers can do: They suppress, allright, they cost the enemy prestige, if you bomb objective cities, They can destroy the city up to a point where the former owner cannot build units there anymore. However you cannot destroy objective cities, they never can loose the flag.

The first player to put a INFANTRY unit into that red city, and that should be you, will get the flag and the prestige

  • 34:22 Pz 4d has better stats than 3h except in 2, and that is initiative and hard attack. If you meet lots of enemy armor, you need to have 3hs OR experienced 4ds and air superiority and soften the enemy armor up with stukas or lvlbombers, before engaging into tank battles. Stug 3bs selfpropelled guns also help your tanks survive enemy armor counterattacks, just park them behind your tanks.

  • 26:00 about prestige. Yes, you might loose prestige even, but you gain a net of experience, well if you dont throw that away with normal reinforces. you have to see that except your paratroopers, your core infantry is all engineers, so they are all expensive units to replace. But the extra experience gained is worth it. But you should be able to get both extra experience and a little bit of net prestige gain, even with expensive infantry.

  • need to kill stuff again to reach the expereince again after the exp drop with normal replacements.

  • 21:40 Scout AND Strafe, why just scout? 22:00 why just regular reinforcements? The hardest time to get experience for a unit is when it has 0, if you consider this unit to be not critical for the outcome of the map, and dont want to invest prestige to keep them in fighting shape, just park them in a safe place behind the front and leave it there. as Rex 1987 has pointed out too. If you just do nothing with them, they keep the experience till next map, if you give them normal replacements, they

  • 19:48 your attack with the tanks on that artillery: See, if you end up in a fight where both sides inflict heavy losses to each other, you get a lot of experience. your tank went from 2,5 to 3 experience in one shot. So from an experience point of view, the result couldnt be better :-)

  • hunter, but could also work as assault gun (Sturmgeschütz III G). The game has only two classes of vehicles to depict those, so self propelled guns are rated as artillery, and the others are rated as antitank/tank hunters.

  • Self propelled guns shoot indirect (like from behind a hill) in a curved trajectory, so are basically artillery on a wheeled chassis, assault guns shoot direct straight line trajectory fire, and then there is tank hunters or tank destroyers, who also shoot direct fire, All three of them have no turret, that could turn, you would have to turn the vehicle to switch to a target lets say on the side of the vehicle, Now some vehicles had a multipurpose gun, like the stug3g, which was good as tank

  • the tank at 15.00 cant move into the woods, not because of the enemy , since you can always move 1 hex, but because he lacks fuel, he has 1 fuel left, thats good enough to move into a clear hex, but not enough for a wood hex.

  • Stuka, the Bf110 attack value is lower, as they basically mostly make strong strafe attacks, however notice that the Bf 110 has an active air combat value (its not in parentheses), so you could attack other planes with them, you could not with a stuka. However i would not recomend that, except vs enemy bombers.

  • The Bf 110 is a Fighter-Bomber, it could carry a little bombload and had a rather strong MG and 20mm cannon armament. However it was realized that the Bf110, who was intended to be a longe range escort fighter (the germans had good fighters with the bf109, but its range was very low) for bombers, was not a match for the british fighters in the battle of britain and the bf110 needed fighter escort themselves. They are more a mix, a fighter bomber. Compared to precision tactical bombers like the

  • Well, thanx for mentioning me in your LP, i feel honored :-).

  • do the balkans please

  • Balkans FTW

  • ps: dont always buy reinforce your units - make weakend units fall back to key points and make full strength to take there place at the front line. its better to buy new units instead and make them go up and do some fighting.

  • again it makes be happy to see another episode of this cool lets play. you are pretty good at this game. I have played Panzer general 2 a lot and then i tried the frist and could not get any furter than the 1st mission... about the assult gun/self-propelled gun thing; the assult guns where tanks with short guns used for infantry support role (like the StuG III or the mighty Stumtiger) while the self-propelled guns like the wespe or hummel was really artillery mounthed on a tank chassis.

  • @Rex1987 ups not all assult guns had short guns - e.g. the StuG III did not. but most of them did however.

  • I'd guess that a self-propelled gun is basically an anti-tank or artillery gun mounted on a transport chassis, while an assault gun is armored enough to take on some fire. In your list, I'd call the StuGIIIb and PzJager IB assault guns and the sIG IB a self propelled gun.

  • Also, My vote goes to North Africa. I've been playing Allied General's north African campaign and it'd be nice to see this played from the other side.
