  • Simply beautifull!!!

  • i'm pretty shure it could fly for few seconds using extremely low weight coponents and using aluminium and glass (as u did) for the too hot parts.

  • Beautiful craftsmanship.

And about flying: a slow-flyer could work on a Stirling engine. 100% sure.

Nut you'll have to keep brass components to none. :D

  • @yo6ial im with this... alloy, teflon, carbon fibre.... could be possible with something like a lazybee, say... multi cylinder of course, and with a heat source THAT WONT BLOW ITSELF OUT LOL!

  • make it rc and fly (:

  • Stunning Craftsmanship!

  • but will it blend

  • What is stirling anyway?

  • NICE!!

  • Se puede adquirir un modelo asi en México???

  • I want one

  • but can it fly?

  • so does that work buy increasing air pressure inside a tube thats inside a tube???

  • Vakmannetje aan het werk. Prachtig gedaan!

  • Steampunk time.

  • beautiful....

  • Excellent craftsmanship!

  • very neat, that looks like it was fun to make. Is this something you dreamed up or is it a hobby kit?

  • Heel goed werk man, ik wil graag een hebbe. Thumbs up.

  • Thats really nice work.

  • Super:) good job.

  • way too heavy to fly though.

  • Did fly or not?

  • ok that is pretty sweet but it must not produce any thrust otherwise it would blow out the flame and in turn cool the chamber

  • The funny part is that heli's made of metal, it cant fly. But its damn epic indeed.

  • made with an rc helicopter chassis?

  • did u make that? my dad said he want one o.O

  • fail; you can tell this is sped up by watching the bird fly at 0:02

  • @APACHEMAN747 but still, nice job

  • was that a jet behind in the background? 0:02

  • Amazing, very very well.

  • is the structure gold-plated?

  • @frizstyler

No no, all parts are polished poormans gold (= brass) :-))

  • @Stirlingmodels haha right i forgot. merry christmas. nice tech by the way.have you considered heating the hot tank by sunrays?during summer you could focus a lens to the inside of the hot tank where yo would have put a light-absorbing black piece of some substance(copper?) . then that substance would emit heat inside the hot tank and create the Qhot you need.

do you use hydrogen inside that piston?

  • @Stirlingmodels I was wondering if there were any plans available

  • @frizstyler Sir, that is BEAUTIFUL!!! Pretiest Stirling engine that I have ever seen, too!

  • Too bad it doesn't fly.

  • I WANT ONE!!!...XD

  • Beautiful!

  • Helicopter that cannot even take off? Seems pretty useless :)

  • ok how is the fire invisible that is under the piston chamber

  • It looks like a simplified Soviet helicopter without it's skin.

  • It's SOO Gorgeous <:'D

    Haastige spoed is zelden goed.

  • Y U NO FLY

  • @GILARMAN98 because gravity

  • its a amazing how such a tiny heat source can create so much energy, a true piece of ingenious engineering. well done

  • Is it for sale?

  • where/how did you get that little metal cloth wick thing, that you used to heat it up?

  • that is a thing of beauty , congratulations

  • wat alex zegt; zeer netjes!

  • Two questions: One, did you make the glass heating chamber/piston? If so, how?

  • @123PSI The displacercilinder and the displacer are made of standard tubes, shortened with a little diamond drive on my lathe.

  • nice!

  • can i buy it?

    jk nicework

  • is it possible to make that fly?

  • @fendersting No.

  • zeer netjes :)

  • Why is it not for sale? That's too bad, Do you have plans that you can give me?

  • Makes a nice fan...

  • One Word "AWESOME!"

  • a steampunk huey?

  • will some one explain how this works please?

  • @lookwhatidoXD I'm assuming you mean the sterling engine. It's made of a cylinder that has air (or other gas(es)) in it, there's also a piston inside the cylinder. The air is then heated from an external source, what happends then is that the hot air in the cylinder expands and pushes the piston, then the air is cooled and the piston falls back, this process is then repeated making an axis connected to the piston and wheel pushing forward and backwards which then makes the wheel rotate.

  • @DENlERU thank you for your explanation, i love watching things like this work, just dont understand the physics behind it all :P

  • I display the same model-it came as a kit !

If you want to have a look: stranraerwal > stirling heli

    greetings...stranraerwal

  • I wonder how many times the operator has sliced his hand open by the tail-rotor?

  • @K1w1scot If you look at the index finger at 14 seconds, at least once recently.

  • Hermoso!!!

  • А я то думал полетит

  • Amazing is there a assembly kit for me to buy and have my own helicopter ?

  • Pragtige helikopter. Dit is 'n ongelooflike mooi toepassing can die stirling engine!! Admirasie vanuit Suid Afrika.

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful! If you were selling them I would definitely want to buy one!

  • wow i want one.

  • Wow! Did you make that? Look at them precision parts!!!

    Goed werk!

    Groetjes Sidney en Tom

  • Cool!!

  • très joli moteur, bravo!

    on peut l'acheter ou?

  • Sikorsky would be proud.

  • Wow!

    The Stirling wizzard!!

  • Awesome! Are they for sale?

  • @Legostuff74 if you want a big dent in your wallet

  • @30GB lol i thought so
