  • USMC KA-BAR es el mejor para supervivencia =)

  • can you do a review on SKYRIM

  • nice knives, how ever you never showed "32 wacks" on any knife?

  • @enigma42177 he is saying 30 GOOD whacks not 32 whacks

  • SOG is where it's at

  • @KIngAragorn100 Indeed.

  • @KIngAragorn100 No it's not. I wouldn't trust a SOG with my life.

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic Depends on what you use from SOG some of their knives out match any other knives

  • @KIngAragorn100 Hell no bro.I'd take an Extrem Ratio or a KA-BAR any day over SOG.

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic Ok but can you throw a KABAR into a fire for an hour and pull it out and still have it look the same way before? Can you leave a KABAR in seawater for 2 weeks and take it out and not be corroded? Is a KABAR full tang? Did the KABAR when the competition of the best knife put on by the Naval Special Warfare Center? Is the KABAR used by Navy SEALs? Talk to me when you know what the fuck your talking about.

  • @KIngAragorn100 Jesus fuck man. The new KA-BAR with a Kraton G handle does stand up against corrosion. Why would you keep your knife in fucking seawater for 2 weeks if you need it? The KA-BAR is full tang, holds an edge longer and is a lot more trustworthy. YOU talk to me when you know what the fuck you're talking about. Why has the KA-BAR been around for 70 years? Why did it serve as the standard issue knife of the US military? Why does KA-BAR make knives for the USMC, navy and the army?

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic LOL Ok putting the knife inside seawater was part of the test. how do you even know the SOG knives don't hold a longer edge? Like I said before it also depends on what knife you use. Go on YouTube and type in SOG SEAL Team Elite and look at all the good reviews that knife has then some tell me how the KABAR is better. Also so what if its been around for 70 years who gives a shit. Does that make it better in any way? NO, And yes it WAS the standard issue knife in Vietnam.

  • @KIngAragorn100 I own a fucking SOG seal team elite & I own 3 KA-BARS. I've used them in the wilderness and the SOG doesn't perform anywhere near as good as the KA-BAR at least with me.

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic As i thought you have no life and how am I supposed to believe that shit. I could also say that im a Navy SEAL who's killed someone with my SEAL Team elite knife would you believe me? probably not so what makes you think im going to believe you?

  • @KIngAragorn100 Because you're a fucking 12 year old dumb ass who has never been in the wilderness before. And you're not a Navy Seal, they're not allowed to tell they're are, unless you want to go to court. Want to motherfucker?

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic yeah and i can say the same exact thing about you and yeah where do you want to meet?

  • @KIngAragorn100 You don't want to meet me. I'm 1 Dan in Taekwondo, just got it a couple of weeks ago.

  • @ForTheFutureOfMusic Is the KABAR issued to Navy SEALs? NO, Is the KABAR issued to Green Berets? NO Is it the most widely used knife by the military? NO Is it torch resistant? NO The SOG knives are issued to the elite military units not the lower ones because the elite units have the better equipment. I'm done arguing with you so if you have a life and doesn't care so much then you won't comment again, if you don't have a life you will.

  • @KIngAragorn100 The Cold Steel SRK knife or whatever it was is issued to the US Navy Seals in BUDS. Navy Seals use the SOG too but does it mean anything? No. How about the KA-BAR which is used by tens of millions of people, has killed hundreds of thousands of enemies, has opened millions of rations and dug thousands of trenches and foxholes and the design has been around for 70 yrs. Does that mean anything? Yes. The Navy Seals probably hardly use their knife. I wouldn't trust a SOG.

  • kalimba!!!

  • 5:50 you mention that there is an inconstancy when doing a test in succession one after another. That is the mark of a true scientist to identify your own variables. Even the guys on myth-busters don't recognize (or at least acknowledge) the fact that you just stated

  • Good job on mentioning pressure treated wood toxicity. Never even heard that from Les Stroud

  • Could you do a review on the SCHF3 or the SCHF3N?

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow Just by that comment I believe that your very own opinion Is fecal matter. Thank your for showing us that, as we all know now that your opinion shouldnt even be considered when it comes to knives. Gerber makes some awesome products

  • not much of a test considering you choped harder and or faster with different knifes it dosent show verry much.

  • A wee bit windy, eh...

  • Thanks for the review!

  • I just bought the BK 2 after you tested it a while back ago. And I must say I am very very pleased with it. (It works grate here in Norway too :P )

    - Anders

  • Szczeże to jak bym cie spotkal to bym uznal cie za Juzefa tylko gdzie masz laske i sakiewke

  • Gerber are nice throwing knives... to throw to the trash can :)

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow , well thanks for stopping by none the less, and have a great holiday.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure Adam, do not listen to this clown. I also own an LMF II and it is a great product as are many gerber tools. Keep it up bro

  • @Equip2Endure Hey Adam just wanted your opinion on partially serrated blades?

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow i own tons of gerber products and they have never failed me yet and its more of a preference on what you buy and yes adam is rig

  • @christopherscott2012 * right because gerber is awesome

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow its a great knife, i'm defo taking it with me when i get deployed.

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow And thank you for revealing your credibility by writing a rediculous comment like this. To make such a broad statement saying that anything with the gerber name on it is fecal matter is beyond stupid, and proves that you have never handled Gerber knives or any knife for that matter. The US military would not have approved the LMF II for use as an ASEK knife if it was "fecal matter". Have a nice day

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow Show me any knife that is better for the cost compared to the equivalent Gerber blade. Gerber has more value to their shit than ANY other company I have come across. Probably less than .05% of knife buyers will actually ever need anything more than a Gerber can provide.

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow gerber.didnt they make the bear grylls knife that had the pommel fall to bits....!

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow I have a buddy who took a gerber LMF2 with him to Afghanistan to search for mines and IED's. Served him well, by saving his life. Also noteworthy that in an IED blast he was unfortunate enough to be in, his M4 was disabled but his gerber was fully intact. I think you should put something to the test before you knock it!

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow Wow... thanks for showing everyone watching this video how little you know in less than 50 words...I own a couple of Gerber knives and they're well built and of great quality. If you don't want to spend $200 plus on a knife then the LMF2 is the next best thing if not right on par with $200 plus knives. Only downside I see with it is the length- makes chopping very difficult.

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow You are a Asshole

  • @DrTadHusseinWinslow Yeah, you're right dude. Now instead of having to watch 30 seconds, I just read you comment and stopped the video. Gerber = worst garbage ever manufactured.

  • I like how you make a point to show the difference between a field knife and fighting knife. A great fighting knife isn't the best idea for survival and the best survival knife isn't the best for fighting. But if it's all you have it's the best option.

  • i bought a bk2 based off your reviews and analysis and i love it. my srk was my favorite until i got a hold of the bk2. thanks man you make excellent videos.

  • thumbs up if you counted the whacks!

  • I want a bk2 so baddddd

  • What's the difference between the LMF and the Bear Grylls ?

  • why would someone do a test in a non-realistic situation? whacking 2x4s is nice, but says nothing useful for real world situations. All you learn here is that 2x4s dont exist in the woods.

  • dont waste your money on a gerber they suck! worst knife i ever had. wasnt sharp out of the box ,never ever was sharp. i tried, ark stones diamond, ceramic, my Lansky etc. I finally asked a cutlery guy that had a sharpening service and he said he never works on gerbers because they cant take an edge let alone keep one. "legendary blades " indeed! Buy a mora and drive on .

  • i love those knives man keep making videos !

  • i better buy a beaver.he eats wood also so no worries for extra food. :P

  • How does the CS SRK compare to the gerber?

  • So would you recommend buying the gerber lmf 2? What are the cons of owning that knife, if any? Thanks heaps, and goods videos!

  • whats the difference between the lmf 2 and the bear grylls usk

  • hey adam i was wondering if you could test out the ka-bar warthog. not the older version but the re-released 2011 model. im stuck between the bk2 and the warthog and i havent seen a good test/review on it because its a new knife. so i would greatly appreciate it id you could find time to test it.

    thanks

  • 17 people cant afford a good blade

  • 5.11 pants?

  • I had the Gerber LMF2 and it broke at the first serration while battoning in 40 degree weather. I lost my trust in Gerber and will never carry another. Now I carry mostly a Mora or Condor. I am looking for a good chopper. Thanks for the video.

  • pressure treated wood is wood that is impregnated with termiticide guys.......BEWARE, I would also head the advice given by xmoroseguyx, better safe then poisened, uuh formaldehyde. That is so toxic it could never obtain registration as a pesticdide. Adam, that was very insightful advice, Thank You

  • I believe pressure treated wood is OK to burn, It`s chipboard, MDF and the like you want to avoid, Because they have formaldehyde in the glues, Which release a toxic smoke when burned, As with the knives, None of the handles look particularly comfortable during long use, Especially given the relative large size of the blades

  • I wanna buy a new survival knife but I don't know which I should buy AT ALL!

Could somebody PLEASE tell me a good survival knife?

First I wanted 2 buy that bear grylls knife cuz of the sharpener and the firestarter but I thinkt it's fancy bullshit..

so could somebody tellme a good knife to buy?

  • i will always, and forever.. use my origional 1st generation Boy Scouts Of America survival knife. the only knife i ever have used and ever will use for survival

  • I LOVE NINJA TUNA! just thought id throw that out there

  • theres a bell ringing in the back ground

  • Does anyone notice the ding ding noise in the background

  • Out of all of you large hard use knives. Witch one would you choose?

  • anyone know of any sheaths with pouches or just better quality sheaths for the bk2?

  • what would you reccomend for a large survival knife. I have a bk2 and a cold steel traihawk. already.

  • You know, tonto style knives work suprisingly well as choppers I have a ZT 0400st and I chop through 3 inch diameter pine trees no problem. And that's a folding blade!

  • what gloves are u wearing? and would u take the rat-5 or the bk2?

  • i love how practically any experienced knife user is against serations yet they still put them on. why?

  • I like your reviews they are straight up, honest and down earth. Easy to understand what you are showing and teaching. The only gripe I have is that it would be nice if you would add some links on your partitioned videos, to have an easy path from part one to part two, part two to part three, and so on. I know the next video can be found on the youtube side bar, but not always. Thanks for the great reviews and survival lessons.

  • Are buy a machete

  • Maybe its just me but I thought a knif was made to but meats and skinning, cutting string.but tell me why would one want to use a great knif to chop wood.If you want to chop wood buy a axs

  • @mogges1 It's a survival knife there bright one.

  • The best knife i've ever owned and have had since 1985 and 4 tours of iraq and 1 tour in afganistan is a Robert Parrish i bought from Ranger Joes in Columbus Ga.

  • what are the ruls in the us for carrying a knife like this, is it ok if your in the forests i guess but not the streets, and how can one determine a safezone for wearing it if there are areas??

    Cheers

  • @thewulf7 , if it's not concealed you're good to go.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure cheers mate :)

  • @Equip2Endure Subscribed! and btw Mr.Scruff is awesome!

  • @Equip2Endure define concealed?

  • @Equip2Endure how about if it's in your backpack? will that be ok?

  • @Equip2Endure Like your videos and hats off to you for educating people. My only gripe is with a knife test for survival, try digging with them as well. In Oz ,some food is located below plants and shrubs so a digging test would be helpfull. Also a point/tip test for digging grubs and seperating tree bark would be good too.

    Cheers.

  • @Equip2Endure I've seen your video about the bear grylls knife and i have heard mere people say its shit but how does this gerber identical to the BG hold up is it a thru metal handle or not?

  • @Equip2Endure better tell him to check local laws.

  • @thewulf7 then just buy a simple pocket knife, duhhh like the leatherman freestyle

  • @thewulf7 Nobody can accuratly answer your question. Every state has its own laws pertaining to knives. In fact laws can vary from township to township, and from county to county. Most of the time you will find someone saying something along the lines on "If the blade is the width of your palm its legal" that's purely bullshit. I would say literally Google the knife laws for your particular state

  • @thewulf7 Individual states vary with laws about knives, my advice is check within your state. Do not assume you can carry an 8 inch blade survival knife on your hip.

  • bk all the way jst got mine in the mail, took it up to windsor lake caught a trout, gave it a wack, and had it cleaned about 15 seconds after pulling it outa the water. it was poring rain out so i took the bk2 and split a bit of wood to get the dry stuff inside, and tossed the fish on the coals hell yeah its a nice knife, perfect size for a mans hand, its a real tool! like me!

  • The one thing I don't understand is the current trend of wanting a "do it all" knife. I mean, I understand you want it to do about anything well just in case it is the only tool you have, I get that. But what serious camper takes only one tool? Why use a $200 knife as a pry bar when you could use a $20 pry bar? Why use a $200 knife as an axe when you can use a $20 camp axe? Do we not already carry these other tools?

  • Hey, Nice video, Always are great!

Do you have to purchase all this gear yourself, or do you get discounts or something??

Keep up he great vids :D

    -Dougie

  • @dougodistructo911 , most of the gear buy, gear that is sent to me I give away in contest.

    Adam.

  • intelligent methodology. Well done.

  • Hey Adam what do you think of the Ontario SP-17 Quartermaster?

  • If you actually plan on using the knife on a regular basis to chop then all of those knifes are on the smaller side for the specific task of chopping.

The Cold Steel San Mai III Gurkha Kukri seems to be the standard by which all other choppers should be measured. However its 22oz's are great for chopping but not so great for backpacking. And the price is well... you get what you pay for...

But I agree with your opinion of the LMF II, great knife for the price.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for warning about the toxic!!!!

  • That 2x4 is not pressure treated.

  • I was about to buy the the LMF2 but changed my mind and got a Ka-Bar. Really happy with it. going out now in a sec to make a nice campfire :)

  • were are u

  • im looking for another knife for my collection. i a thinking becker bk2 and then getting the micarta scales or the esee 5. i have big hands.

  • gerber is better than the becker

  • which is better the becker bk2 or the LMF 2

  • @Veradel97 , BK-2 all the way!

    - Adam

  • What is the best survival knife in your opinion? *No price limit*

  • do you think the buck 110 folding knife is a good heavy duty folding knife

  • J Adams

British Jungle knife. Strong, simple and no fancy names.....

I wouldn't take any of these knives in this test outside of my office....

  • thats not pressure treated wood.

  • @ReganMilne Yea, because there's lots of that growing in the woods.

  • which would you recommend the becker bk2 or the lmf 2 if the lmf 2 didn't have and serrations?

  • @draggngmac386 , BK-2

    -Adam

  • @ Equip2Endure thanks very much

  • don't think they make the LMFII without serrations

  • What survival knife would you recommend for under or around $100 ? Nice video btw ..

  • @specopscommunity , the Becker BK 2

  • @Equip2Endure becker bk2 is only around 56 on amazon

  • @specopscommunity the sheath for the bk2 is CRAP

  • What's ya think about

    Ckrt ultmia

  • Awesome vid and channel.I'll for sure keep watching and you keep up the good work.

  • I like your boots.

  • mr. scruff intro means instant good video. great review!

  • Is that a police siren at 3:32?

  • err...2:32.

  • I have the gerber lmf 2...so far i like it. I used to chop wood for the bonfires me and some friends have at a park. Does an awesome job, though i wish i knew to sharpen knives better :P

  • ok so the song is totally kalimba by mr scruff.....came with windows 7 XD

  • @longboard6669 , that's right!

    - Adam

  • Is there a reason that a pine board is used to do a cut test? To me it seem kind of a weak wood for a knife test. Why not use a harder wood like oak?

  • @thechoreographer , it's an inexpensive platform to establish consistent results throughout the course of the Knife Test Series. Oak is a great idea, but most of the pine board I have used were free, I hate to spend money on lumber that could have gone towards future gear purchase. Thank's for the suggestion.

    - Adam

  • What's the difference between the Gerber LMF ll Survival and the LMF Infantry? Thanks.

  • ahhh, so that is Gerber blade that Bear Grylls picked for his own line of products. Do you think his model any good?

  • @foxkenji , It cool that it has a fire started, I have not had one in my hands as of yet.

    - Adam

  • I thought he said bitch made. lol

  • lost all respect for liking the horrible lmf2

  • @ma7t93 , what don't you like about the Gerber LMF2? It's not bad for a blade you can pick up for around $60.00. My Lieutenant got back from Iraq about a year ago, I let him borrow mine over there and he stated it served him well. No issues.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure they are mass hopper-fed produced with little attention to detail on grind, edge and tang setting. use of a plastic spacer to snug the tang into the grip, which will crack with any decent hacking use.... for some reason Gerber still has not gotten the message about 50/50 blades, all or nothing. i delt through rocky national, had a slight bend in the tang at the hilt, sent it back, received a new blade with the exact same issue, sent it back and spoke to matt...

  • @ma7t93 , your right, I did have some cracking of the plastic that held the blade from batonning. This is the first I've heard about the bend in the tang. Thanks for the info.

    Adam

  • @Equip2Endure

the reason the handle is constructed that way was should you find your self cutting though a wire or sheet metal that had an electric current passing through it you wouldn't fry.

  • @ma7t93

the reason the handle is constructed that way was should you find your self cutting though a wire or sheet metal that had an electric current passing through it you wouldn't fry.

  • @Equip2Endure I wish the lmf2 came in strate edge

  • @Equip2Endure my buddy got the LMF2 in coyote brown as an early Christmas present, he loves it, and i believe it's great, but i already have the Ontario sp2, but i also wanted another good camp/survival knife. i just wanted to ask is this knife full tang? and have you had any issues other than handle cracking? dude, nice vid btw :)

  • you must not be far from society with all those sirens in the backround........i hate society

  • @KiiNgofTheCastle , yeah volunteer fire Dept right up the hill, and the train tracks. It alright though.

    - Adam

  • @KiiNgofTheCastle HEY I LIVE IN MCCLOUD CALIFORNIA....I GOT ALOT OF TRAINS GOIN THROUGH THE GREEN LUSH PINE FORESTS ITS PRETY AWESOME...GOOD LUCK BILLY ZANE HAHAHAHHAH JUST KIDDIN

  • @KiiNgofTheCastle , lol!

  • your vids are great could you put the price maybe????? idk just wonderin dont really matter plus what gloves are those??

  • @w1ld3rn3ssm4n1 , The price is on the review videos of the knives. The gloves are mechanix Gloves

  • @Equip2Endure Have you ever tried out the condor kevlar gloves? They're expensive but I'm considering getting a pair for my kit since I will be purchasing a TBT T1 pretty soon

  • @MrEhud77 , I have a few pair of Hatch Kevlar gloves for work, but a stick with the Mechanix on outdoor trips, cheaper if I drop one on the trail.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure very true

  • Gerber all the way!!!

  • Great review- just watch the edits. Fades make it difficult to follow, as the audio mixes and it sounds bad. no offense- great review though

  • @SCIFIaction , thanks for the input. As the technology improves I hope so will the quality. Just picked up new HD camera and wireless microphone. Very excited!

    -Adam

  • @Equip2Endure. Cool- can't wait to see. You do a great job! If you ever need any pointers I'd love to help out. I'm a Graphic Designer and have had eqpierence with editing. It simply takes a lot of practice! I know you'll get it eventually. Keep up the great vids- I just bought a LMF ii and cant wait to get outdoors with it. I know you have a lot to offer with your vids, and I can't wait to learn- Thanks. -Garrett K

  • i like the third one from the left
