  • Is it weird that Sam reminds me of Neve Campbell in this trailer??? Kinda odd.

  • i use to be scared of this when i was little girl now im not scared of it anymore haha!

  • do you have that scary background music in the trailer?

  • @Glitter234 I believe that it is on the score soundtrack for Deadly Friend...u can search for it and I am sure you'll find it.

  • @tboy24 I just bought the soundtrack and it's not on it =(

  • oh whens the remake??????? because u know they're gonna make one.

  • Wes Craven!

  • HOLLYWOOD:

    "BLAAHHHH"

"lets remake it in 3D with more cowbell and tamper the script!!!!!!"

  • I loved this movie. BeeBee was the robot right?

  • Wait so is this abt a girl whos like a robot or somethig?

  • This movie has the worst final ever made! it contradicts the above!

  • crazy to hear you guys like 20-25 years old talking about seeing this as children. i saw it as a child...25 years ago!! i was a fan of kristy's sweater; yeah, the "scared" crap didn't really apply to this, it was more of a sci-fi thriller. yes, if anyone discovers what the trailer music is called, POST IT!!

  • MAMA FRATELLI!

  • Romantic movie !

  • I saw this when I was like six. Looked like a dark movie of the week.

  • Is that kristy swanson from flowers in the attic?!?

  • I remember this shit! Me & my sister was saying remember that movie where that robot chick kills ppl. I couldnt think of it for shit. Miss the 80s horrors. All bullshit remakes and sequels nowadays, they might as well remake this 1.

  • @rodluv21 IF they do it right though. I agree that as Arnold says in his movie "Some old things are great".

  • The movie is nothing compared to the novel I ehard it's more darker.. and the ending is ALOT creepier than the movies ending

  • looks like january jones.

  • Oh snap! Forgot to turn on the 56k modem!

  • WO! I totally forgot about this. What a trip! Gonna have to add this to my blockbuster online que for sure!

  • Wes craven luvs <3

  • is this movie any good?

  • sam is sooo hot

  • Bebe's chip was inside Sam in the movie.

  • WHERE IS BEBE!!!!

  • Such a cool movie. It makes me remember my childhood!

  • Wait, so I don't get it. Is this a supernatural movie or a normal "real" killer?

This trailer makes it seem like she has super powers.

  • this movie scared the sh*t out of me ever since i saw it when i was like 9 yrs old...15 yrs ago... !!

  • The movie wasn't Wes Craven's best, but it was still good.

  • this trailer totally threw me off. i had no idea that there was going to be a robot subplot. Based on the trailer i thought it was going to be about some supernatural evil girl or something. jesus.

  • I feel mthat this is one of Wes Cravens most under-rated films of all time next to the ultr cool Hills Have Eyes Part 2.Deadly friend has some funny moments as well as some scary ones. Its a shame that a proper sequel was never made.

  • holy shit i havnt seen this movie for a long time

  • Albert from little House on the Prairie! He was such a cutie :)

  • @cultclassicnerd Isn't is weird to see him in normal clothes? :)

  • @AwesomeEmilyfansite HaHa!! Yeah, it is! :)

  • view complete version associated with this kind of film here in av a tz.net remove spaces

  • good trailer, they did not spoil anything by showing the robot... good trailers back then, that didn´t show the whole movie.

  • That final part when the window glass shatters is burnt in my mind since I saw the trailer for the firs time.

  • Sam is so hot

  • I wonder if DC Comics did an adaptation of this film...

  • I HAVE BEEN LOVING FOR THIS MOVIE FOR YEARS!

  • I loved this movie. im going to have to review it.

  • i love this movie

  • ''youre so cute''

  • OMG !! i saw this movie like 10 years ago..and finally and thanks to "tboy24" i found this movie..LooooL..i was searching alot this movie..i didn't know the original title..Thanksss alot ! God bless entire world !!!!

  • BIGGEST crush on swanson as a kid. starting to remember why. amazing.

  • @tskeates Same here.

  • fallow those size fives

  • If a remake should ever be done, I think that Miley Cyrus should take the lead role as Samantha Pringle. Imagine Hannah Montana becomes a killer robot bitch from hell.

  • @AJGreene007 There is a remake of this in 3D with Kristen Stewart to play the role of Samantha. Why would anyone remade this movie?

  • @Sweetmervs ...they remade it? omg I bet it sucks.

Nothing can touch this one, not to mention the BEAUTIFUL orchestral score by Charles Bernstein. This movie is classic.

  • @DrunkenPiano There is a plan to remake this movie with Kristen Stewart to play the role of Samantha. Oh, my God!!! Kristen as bella in Twilight suck acting, how much more in the planned remake?

  • @Sweetmervs NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dies* I hate Twilight! I think it's complete bullocks. I can't believe it.

  • @DrunkenPiano I understand how you feel. I feel like its really bad....

  • @Sweetmervs where did you hear this?

  • @abSOULuteD I read it first in Wiki, and i have search for the latest news regarding this. It seems they are pushing for the remake.

  • @Sweetmervs That's the problem with Wikipedia.. people can post falst information.. apparently it's not there.. i guess it's in the rumor mill. But imagine if Megan Fox got the role. *cringe* no thank you. Damn now I gotta find the novel and it'll be so hard to find.. better check ebay

  • i saw this during its original run. it smacked of b-movieness then and was pretty scary. they let me in, even though i was only in 7th grade. but honestly, this movie left me with a weird feeling. kinda like... wtf did i just watch?

also, this movie deviates from wes craven's original idea because the studio made him change things (dream sequences and WTF moments) in order to try to "improve" the film.

  • The movie wreaks of studio interference because of how much Warner Bros. made the movie more graphic to make it more like Nightmare On Elm Street. Ironically though, I think the movie's basic story taken from the novel Friend just doesn't work at all and it doesn't help that Wes Craven is not particularly good with doing the story's conventional comedy or drama. The best scenes end up being the graphic stuff and its where Craven is at his best as a filmmaker.

  • i grew up watching this movie every weekend at my dads house with my lil sister we were like 7 and 4 and i had no idea it was supposed to be scarey lol. but looking at it now it kinda makes sense how it was meant to be a horror film.

  • kristy swanson scares people reguardless of what role shes playing!

  • i saw this movie in 1998... i was 8 years old.... and i tought it was very very scary.

But if i watch it now, i think it won t be scary at all

  • Damn, I saw it in '98 too. I was in 5th grade at the time.

  • This is supposed to be scary?

  • I think this was desperation in part of the marketing people at Warner Bros. I think they automatically assumed because it was Wes Craven directing that it was going to be scary, yet it really wasn't, so they had to make it more Nightmare On Elm Street-esque "to save the film".

  • Want to watch that

  • goonies bad guys' mum!

  • This is off subject but Sam looks like Patty Duke. Patty Duke had a T.v. show from like the late 50's an early 60's, it was like Parent Trap cause she played two identical cousins.

  • I love Matthew Laborteaux. He is a great actor and I think a great guy! Hug from me!!

  • Matthew Laborteaux is so hot in this film! I would say the trailer is more scary than the film itself... Good movie!!

  • The piece of music in the beginning and end of this trailer is absolutely amazing. It was also used to equally chilling effect to a Partnership For A Drug-Free PSA in 1988 titled "Prostitute". I'd do anything to know what the name of the music is titled.

  • I LOVE HER!

  • I have not seen this movie, but - by God - I'm really interested! I couldn't find it on DVD anywhere. I'm from Williston, Florida so anybody who lives in Williston please tell me where I can find the DVD or VHS?

  • Anyone know the name of the music used in this trailer?

  • The book is far superior! The movie is different than the book although the movie itself is not that bad, they should have sticked to the book's plot. It's more gruesome, disturbing and sadder.

  • @rka18282

I agree they should have stuck to the book. Wes Craven wanted to but the studio made him change things. I do love the movie though.

  • They should have "sticked" to the books plot? Lol not sure how you can Stick a movie, or a book.

Not trying to pick on you, just thought it was funny.

  • No offense taken mate, my english is a bit rusty.

  • They couldn't think of a better title?

  • It's the lady from "Throw momma from the train".

  • Mitica la escena del balon de baloncesto y lo que secunda...

  • damn the window blowin up was bad ass they need Over the Top publicity like in the 80's films back in todays modern culture.

  • @impulsewithMiggyVee yah seriously that whole preview was great

  • How scary!!!!!

  • muy buena para la epoca..

  • they arent showing the love part of the story, its a great story. i dont think people see the beauty behind a lot of horror films. its tragic what happens, this is like a modern (80s) frankenstein and reminds me somewhat of edward scissorhands (also a modern frankenstein) wes craven did great on this one! i have it and i love it. Loved it since i was a kid.

  • the music to this film is beautiful. the score that charles bernstein does moves me to tears. never has there been such glory in film music.

  • it was first horror i sore when i was bout 7 n it scared da shit outta me same i cudnt sleep for ages da end still gives me da willys

  • She was 15 years of age.

  • WES CRAVEN??!! u_u

  • Kristy was SOOOOOO GORGEOUS in the 80s! Loved her in 'Flowers in the Attic'!

  • I second that!

  • very similar idea to basic instinct? anyone agree...or am i talking out of my ass again...which of these came first

  • Read the plot summary on Wikipedia.

  • la he buscado años...no la encuentro en niguna parte,,

    donde puedo comprarla???

  • Good 80s horror. don't take it too seriuosly tho.

  • this... dosen't look scary at all to me...it seems like a good idea for a horror film, but from the trailer it just dosen't look scary.

  • that's because the trailer was from 1986. this isn't necesserily true. but most modern films are scarier then in the

    1980s =P

  • This movie scared the piss outta me.

I couldnt sleep by myself for days!!!

  • GET OUTTA MY HOUSE !

  • This is a very cool Trailer. I just bought this movie on Dvd. I had the VHS tape for years. Such a classic movie. But not scary like the Trailer makes it sound..LOL

  • is that the girl from F13 pt 7?

  • No, She isn't. She played in Buffy the vampire slayer, her name is Kristy Swanson.

  • Don't forget Kristy Boner in Dude Where's my Car

  • This movie is more of a horror and romance movie

  • I thought this was made around 89-90

  • classic.

  • I've love to get my hands on the original cut of DF. It's a vastly different film and concentrates on Paul and Sams relationship rather than unnecessary blood letting

  • to bad they couldn't show the basketball exploding head sceance in the trailer preview

  • udsfhudhusdhusdusdh

  • kkkkkkk

  • I didn't know the title of this movie until now, I just remembered watching it

  • i thought this movie was more about the guys robot than the girl.

  • I love this movie but I was pissed at the ending.There won't be a a part 2 of this.Hopefully it'll get remade.

  • wtf at 0:49? that was not the old lady's death! hm i guess that was made only for comercial purposes or maybe was an alternate death? who knows..sam's saying ''youre so cute'' was not in the film. lol

  • The death of Elvira was changed to be more graphic but the previous version of her death had already been filmed and was used in the theatrical trailer. It wasn't until after the trailer's release that the scene was changed.

  • Freddy gave way better deaths. Remember the deadly basketball? This is still okay though. I just like slasher films more particularly NOES.

  • Not really Craven's best, but not really his worst either.

  • i've been looking for this movie for years. i first saw this movie back in '93 i think when i was 8 , i actually saw it in a after school daycare i used to stay at (sort of like the 6 to 6 program nowadays). anyway , our instructor put in on one day and the funny thing was we weren't scared and actually started laughing thoughout the film , especially when he kept rewinding the tape back to the BASKETBALL scene (OVER & OVER). BB , now i got to go buy this movie on DVD. AH Memories Good Times.

  • interesting trailer considering the actual film.

this trailer really makes this a heavyweight film.

of course, its still great fun to find out what the movie is like!!

    haha nice!

  • 0:43 is creepy!

  • The trailer seems scarier than the actual movie.

  • Wow. too bad that part where Samantha says "your so cute" wasn't in the movie.

  • when sam was at the front door, she was holding ALMOST HOME cookies. i loved those. they don't make those anymore. this movie is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. HEY GIRL........

  • When you tear the veil between life and death... be prepaired to face the concequences of your actions.

  • Good times when the trailers didn't give away all the movie

  • lol nice

  • "Yeah" Nowadays your trailers is pretty much your whole movie! "That goes o show you new school cildren of Horror you better do your homework and learn from us old folks when it comes to Horror "Gore and blood" does'nt always make great Horror film. "I'll take suspense and eerie anyday of the week over blood and guts shit.

  • ronnie, I agree. Seems like the concept of build-up and suspense is pretty much gone from many modern horror films, and the concept of a trailer leaving you wanting more has been thrown out the window too many times. I saw that Michael Bay-produced remake of "Amityville Horror", and while the opening montage was cool, the rest of the film SUCKED!!!! I like Bay - when he does ACTION films. This film is one of my personal classics. I hope it doesn't get remade, but I wish a sequel had been made.

  • i remember this being on tv kind of a lot in the early 90's. i was in jr. high back then, but it seemed pretty creepy to me in those days. this trailer makes me want to watch it again since i haven't seen it in years. good times

  • I first saw this movie when I was 6, maybe 7. Roughly a decade ago. It scared the shit outta me! The basketball scene stayed with me all the way until today. I looked it up and found it. Ah, the memories... :p

  • Marchof31Days I remember watching this movie when I was around that age and watched it til my moms vhs tape got worn out. Same thing with the Jason and Freddy movies. Back then those two were my heros instead of nightmares. I might have been twisted back then, but I was a fan of Jason & Freddy.

  • "Oh Hell" I remember this film "It had Albert from Little House On The Prairie "Not" a bad movie.

  • one only thing NEVER EVER MEET SAM OR ELSE YOU WILL DIE!

  • This has to be one of Wes Cravens best movies.

  • "Get outta my house!" Hahaha. "Owen loves his momma."

  • love that voice, a classic voice for horror movies. that make even my little pony scary HIHI

  • kinda funny..you never see the robot??

  • BE-BE

  • This movie was cool.

  • Cool, I saw this movie when I had 6 or 7 years old. What a memories.

  • way to go sexy Kristy Swanson.

  • espectacular

  • BRYAN DIXON!!!!

  • I like the music.Anyone know what it's called?

  • I don't about the name of the score, but it's done by Charles Bernstein the same guy who did the one for Nightmare on Elm Street 1.

  • Now on DVD part of the Twisted Terror Collection, along with Dr.Giggles, a Universal movie (yes, a Universal movie released by Warner Video, makes sence after all Universal had US distribution of Gorillas in The Mist, while Warner had International and TV rights. Same with Twister)

  • yup i saw that todaY! and of course i had to get it! freaking greaT movie!

    bee bee!

    hehe

  • That movie freaked me out when it used to come on KHTV (Now KHCW) 39 in Houston. It also came from time to time in Spanish on Telefutura. Now we can experience the fear on DVD!
