First album I ever bought, 1974, on the strength of the single. I'd lie on my bed, in a darkened room,a speaker either side of my head and take a ride . I whistle the pan pipe(?) section to this day.
I'm 18 years old, and I have to admit Kraftwerk has blown me more away than Stones and Beatles did. Lots of people say it's a disgrace to say/think that, but the art of Kraftwerk touches me in a way music never did or will do. Stones and Beatles are also great - don't get me wrong - but Morgenspazierung, Telefon Anruf, Tour de France,... That's just epic, timeless music. It never bores me and it's like I constantly have to hold my breath. Inexplicable brilliance.
Lovely...very Zen...I've still got the vinyl 45 - a-side iz single mix of Autobahn, and this iz on the flip. I played this constantly back then...cool to hear them doing with electronix what Beethoven did with symphonix in his "Pastorale"
This is such a refreshing contrast following Mitternacht...that scared the hell out of me the first time I heard that! I was relieved to find that this was next on the album

This certainly is one of their finest compositions...to be sure, this one was the paradigm of New Age music.

this is by far one the most unusual, still fresh, upbeat songs ever made.. used to listen to it a lot when I managed a music store back in the 70's

Great song! I love the nice bubbly sounds of the EMS VCS3 filter.
If only The Fuhrer was still with us, he would be proud ...

@MrCamelneck if fuhrer is here there wouldn't be music like this nor the Kraftwerk themselves.

@ddraguti
I wouldn't say that ... The fuhrer loved Wagner and Wagner rocks!

@MrCamelneck The Fuhrer loved Wagner? I always thought he was more in blues.

This should be the default setting on alarm clocks. What a great way to be woken up for the trip aheas. And yes Autobahn is next.
