For Intel that deal would be irresistible. Once the purchased it's been made, kill AMD & stick to Intel.

when processor companies don't cater to green computing crowds and focus on gamers only, they get hated by larger portions, and thats bad for buisness. cpu companies should have a generous green desktop cpu 30W TDP line up, and a performance line up, excluding the green computing crowds is a very very bad idea...

LOL, when she started talking about AMD Phenom overclocking that really made me laugh! Even there new Phenom 9850 black edition can only overclock from 2.5Ghz to about 2.9Ghz, that's only about a 400MHz overclock! Compare that to Intel and AMD seriously need to start sorting things out!

What're you talking about? In the black edition you can change the multipliers, and get a huge boost in the ability to OC.

black edition means unlocked multiplier which will boost the cpu from 2.5ghz to well over 3ghz if good heatsink is fitted, iv never heard of intel haveing true quadcore and haveing unlocked multiplier on 1 die...

The 9850 Black Edition did 3.5 GHz with watercooling. Of course it doesnt clock as well as the Core 2 Qoud, but its a nice processor for the money.

The equalent, Q6600, doesn't clock much further than that. Making it a average record around 4ghz - I'd say the B3 stepping already now is doing alot of progress since every new wave a fresh processors will deliver better overclocking performance. The Q6600 clocked rather poorly at first revisions. A +1ghz overclock is absolutley acceptable.
