  • @JustABitOfRocknRoll amen. And it did.

  • Wow! What talent. I'm mesmerized.

Such a contribution to the music world, we are lucky to have had a Led Zeppelin. :)

  • the pedal steel is just excellent

  • So damn melloncollie

  • Brilliant

  • LMAO @INDISPUTABLE FACT.....THATS WHAT HITLER SAID

  • living reflection from a dream...

  • I listened to Zeppelin religiously as a teenager in the 70's but as I grew older and more busy I stopped. Now that Im an old man with more free time I've reopened the Zep catalog and it's like Im discovering them all over again. Gems like this are what make LZ the greatest band of all time. That is not opinion- it is indisputable fact.

  • this one of those songs that can makeme cry

  • what the hell are u comparing??? listen to the masterpiece..

  • I was at Zumiez the other day and to my surprise this song came on. I was singing along and then the song changed...not even half way through. I noticed the bitch worker with tattoos and that sort of shit changed it, dumb bitch

  • @Villeishott what a bitch

  • @Villeishott hahaha brutal! dont ya hate that! shoulda told her to change it back.

  • Soulful; melodic.

  • im in love with someone right now! HAIL SATAN!

  • this may be the BEST song of all time

  • Led Zeppelin crushed the Beatles in the late 60's and early 70's...

  • what key is this in?

  • @WispaGoldMS E flat

  • @GilmourRelic k thnx XD

  • @WispaGoldMS Thank my Twelve String.

  • @GilmourRelic whoever thought of adding six more strings was a fookin genius i swear ;)

  • great somg lovr it

  • why is there all this comparison between the beatles and zeppelin? haha so random. two completely different bands from two different eras

  • The Beatles are great.....but Led Zeppelin? I don't know how to say how much I love them. It's like Zeppelin expresses every single emotion I can feel. From conquering any obstacle with Achilles Last Stand to long lost love (which I haven't even felt yet) with Ten Years Gone to going crazy with Rock and Roll to crying till I'm drained with I'm Gonna Crawl...they just have everything. Discovering Led Zeppelin is one of the most amazing things.

  • I asked a ton of kids at my school who was best, Beatles or Led Zeppelin, and most of them said Zeppelin!

  • 1. Led Zeppelin

    2. The Beatles

  • @XenTriixXNC It's just this song seems a lot like the Beatles

  • The Beatles > Led Zeppelin. That said, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin in my opinion, are the two greatest bands of all time, and made music that will be remembered for hundreds of years. These two bands created the most amazing music of all time....

  • dont speek, just lissen to this

  • Gods of rock, life legends

  • If there is ONE band that is >>> Led Zep, it's The Beatles.

    No, srsly. Srsly, guise.

    GUISE. SRSLY

Led Zeppelin is my favorite band. I listen to it more than I listen to the Beatles, but CMON D: the Beatles are the best.

  • 22 people have no idea what good music sounds like...

  • How can you compare led zeppzlin to the beatles ?! They're not playing the same kind of music...

  • @XenTriixXNC - Well, in one way they are playing the same kind of music. They are both playing good music. : )

  • love thjs its awsome

  • This song gives me Norwegian Wood

  • for me :

    1. the beatles

    2. led zeppelin

  • Led zeppelin, one of my favorite bands

  • Led Zeppelin are my favorite band, but you can not say they are better than the beatles... be objective

  • @PillaRPJPJPJJB hell in lyrics they are. in guitar parts they are. they just are dude so much better holy shitt

  • And I Do...

  • favorite zeppeline song of all time.

  • The 70's...God's gift to music!!!

  • @Gregory6340 totally agree. Definitely my favorite era.

  • @Gregory6340 explain to me the disco era then

  • @Gregory6340 You arent kidding about that sir

  • @Gregory6340 Except for Disco...

  • QUESTA NON è UNA CANZONE è LA CANZONE

    QUESTA CANZONE è SACRA

  • When I was young, Sometime back in the Jurrasic, I used to bake to this tune and it made my brain expand and contract, like an accordian whenever the riff at .57 would start wowing away. Just sayin.

  • this song makes me feel Norwegian and somewhat disoriented .

  • @RisingSon011 ... that was an epic description. Kudos to you.

  • @RisingSon011 I'd say Swedish, but oh well.

  • epic

  • "One of my favorites!"

  • "One of my favorites!"

  • almost famous made me love this song. i first heard it there and it was so perfect. william asks russell what he loved about music with this playing softly in the background and he answers "to begin with... everything" and then the volume goes up and the song goes "tangerine tangerine living reflections from a dream" so fuckin beautiful the perfect song for that moment

  • Yes Led Zeppelin was a very diverse band, but you cant really catagorize any of their music, because of their diversity, the only thing you can say is "oh that sounds like "Led Zeppelin"

  • Simple to play, great to listen too, perfect little love song

    8-)

  • i remember

  • fuck this is a good song

  • Er singt über eine Manderine! ^^

  • @TheWubaduba You must be a detective!

  • @gwpotgieter yes, I am!

  • One of my favorite songs by Led Zeppelin. I never get tired of playing this tune on my guitar. So relaxing.

  • Oh boys .. Just hush yer lil mouths and listen :))otherwise ...why in the FUCK are u on here bitching ?

  • A diverse band indeed. Fantastic song.

  • the Intro reminds me of 'Wish you were here'

  • Led Zeppelin>Pink Floyd>Rolling Stones>Beatles.

  • The stones and the beatles aren't as good as Zeppelin but they're almost close(ish) well sorta maybe if your into that kinda thing...

  • @Enjoimaschine

I really don't think the Stones have anything on the Beatles or Led Zeppelin. It's hard to compare the Beatles and Led Zeppelin at all, they're both good it very different ways

  • @TheBoomstickhero I agree with you, i was just being over dramatic except the stones... they're overrated and they were The Beatles shadow doing everything they did for the longest time.

  • And Funk?

  • led zeppelin

  • "And I do...", right into the most fitting lead in music. Pagey really captures the feel in this lead. The guitar is allowed to expose it's soul for a minute here. Absolutely beautiful. I still love you C. Are we really a thousand years apart ?

  • Sarò strano, ma io preferisco il terzo album al secondo.

  • It's been so long since I've heard this one. Got too into the Down By The Seaside stuff. WELL, I'm just glad I can hear it after a winter without it.

  • it's a great feeling to know, you can play this song on the guitar!

  • 22 people have no fucking soul

  • you would never hear it on the radio

  • led zeppelin > beatles

  • @facepull123123 Sorry but that is just not true...

  • @facepull123123

    led zeppelin >> today's music

  • @facepull123123 For me, Led Zeppelin = Beatles.

  • @facepull123123 apples != oranges

  • No, it's not you my young friend. This song has always been popular because it's a great song. And with all due respect to MagickZoso, Zeppelen will always be one of the greatest rock bands if, for no other reason the severity of their influence, but they couldn't play reggae for shit and Dy'er Maker is an overrated and feeble attempt at that genre. They knew enough not to try that again.

  • This song is flippin amazing. I listen to it all the time, and im only 13 :)

  • oh man this song makes my mind & soul travel

  • @MagickZoso ...u are so right..when people ask the stupid "if u were stuck on a desert island......?"..I can't think but of one band's catalog that covers it all,in every emotion,mood,and "genre"...Zeppelin is it(and I'm only 27!!!)

  • D:! sucks

  • @Sepharcito your face sucks ! D:

  • @redsoxfan1324

Other than Nicko McBrain and Neil Peart, of course . . .

  • a tangerine the size of a tangerine

  • Apparently written by Jimmy Page following the break up with himself and Jackie DeShannon....

  • @Rikkki01 wow Jackie is to drool for

  • this is one of many zeppelin's songs i'd consider ESPECTACULAR !!!!!

  • This is one Zeppelin song I'd consider bad.

  • @d3m0nofthef411 go fuck yourself

  • @Waffleboy2c7 watch your fucking mouth, i seen how old ya are..watch it! you're on thin ice sprite

  • is it me or this song got really popular lately?

  • @uriel866 It's because of The Dark Knight.

  • @uriel866 its just you, its always been

  • @uriel866 yes this and the song Thats the way for me anyway

  • @uriel866 cuz slash said that this was the first song he learned to play =)

  • Anyone who is arguing that Bonham was anything less than the greatest man (if he is indeed mortal for which i have my doubts) to ever pick up a pair of drumsticks, you should really just give up. Its a hopeless arguement.

  • @redsoxfan1324 Neil Peart is a better drummer than Bonham was. Keith Moon was arguably a better drummer than Peart, and definitely better than Bonham.

and honestly if i had a choice to jam with any rock drummer living or dead i'd pick ringo because goddamn he gets locked-in fucking tight

let's not forget ginger baker who was a fantastic jazzer playing rock

Also Buddy Rich is pretty much the best drummer ever <_< Easily better than Bonham (and Ringo)

  • @wyssmaster Ringo Star is a SHITY DRUMMER. I can play all of his songs with one arm. The Beatles suck in general except for John Lennon!

  • @kevin122380 I would wager that you aren't a drummer. Ringo is widely known in drummer circles for being unflappable, unique and altogether great. There are plenty of professional drummers who have complimented Ringo on his talent (and I think I'd take their word over yours)

  • @kevin122380 simple riffs or simple songs does not mean you or your band sucks, you dipshit.

  • @kevin122380

No offense, but fuck you. The Beatles are the best.

  • @FreddyGuy925 The Stones are the best. The Beatles and Zeppelin are tie at 2nd. My opinion anyway.

  • @FreddyGuy925 if the beatles are the best why are you here whining on a Zep video?

  • @papachuck63

Because Led Zeppelin kicks fucking ass, and I'm not limited to only 2 or three bands, like most people are today. It's just like how you'd attack someone from a different video if they said Led Zeppelin sucked. I'm just defending the legends.

  • @FreddyGuy925 who's attacking? It was a question.

  • @papachuck63

    Figure of speech.

  • @FreddyGuy925 sorry, I took it wrong.

  • @wyssmaster Bonham is 10 times better than every drummer you listed

  • @IncensePeppermints68 congratulations on having a completely subjective opinion that's is factually invalid

  • @wyssmaster i dont care about your "facts" i just like Bonham the best...is that okay? or am i factually obligated to choose someone else?

  • @IncensePeppermints68 If you acknowledge that it is your opinion, then fine, I'll respect that. When you just say "NOPE BONHAM IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THEY ARE" then I have a problem

  • ZEPPELIN ARE THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME, NO HYPE NO GIMMICKS NO SINGLES NO SILLY POLITICAL GIZZMO'S JUST A SERIOUSLY DEVASTATING BAND. THE ARE THE BEST BY LIGHT YEARS, BEATLES? THE STARTED THE WHOLE XFACTOR MIND SET WE HAVE TODAY, YOU GOTTA CHECK OUT REAL BANDS LIKE PINK FLOYD, GRATEFUL DEAD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT REAL MUSIC IS, NOT COMMERCIAL CLAP CRAP.

  • @wyssmaster ...are you high? The Beatles could sing in tune but had no originality and definitly couldn't hit those high notes like Plant. End of story.

  • @abcpo51515 I can think of two reasons you might say the most influential band ever has "no originality"

    1. You've only heard a few of their early songs and assume they all sound like that

    2. Every single song you've heard from the last 40 years sounds similar to a Beatles song.

Here's the thing: the reason so many Beatles songs sound like so many other songs is that the writers were influence by The Beatles! Listen to Abbey Road as a whole. Listen to Revolver.

  • @abcpo51515 The Beatles were a phenomenally diverse band when you actually get into their album tracks, rather than their singles (hell, they changed styles four times just through singles!). They played jazzy and music hall pastiches, rock and roll, proto-metal (Helter Skelter is fucking HARD), blues, folk, folk-rock, country-rock, psychedelic rock, and so much more.

and oh god they used odd meters and changing meters more than i can remember zep doing they were actually kinda prog

  • @abcpo51515 Paul McCartney has a wider vocal range than plant btw :P

  • he was my love, i was his queen...

i hope he still remembers times like these.

  • Ima gonna be awkward and throw Queen into the argument.

  • This song reminds me of those parts of my life which haven't happened yet.

  • :)

  • This is a very romantic song. It reminds me of lying on the beach with C, when we were young, but alas we are now a thousand years apart. I have not seen her in over 30 years.

  • @AwesomeBeatles Aw, I'm sorry :( I hope you meet again.

  • 0:26 ANGIEEEEE!!!! I still think led zep is better.

  • a real moody piece... Zep's best ever...

  • Beautiful, i love this song especially the middle bit, they single handedly created acoustic rock.

  • @MultiSpread The Beatles were doing acoustic rock stuff long before Zep was even a band.

They weren't even at the forefront of folk-rock (The Band, Bob Dylan, The Byrds) or Country-rock (The Byrds again, Flying Burrito Brothers).

seriously bro led zeppelin's influence is greatly exaggerated, as is the amount of ground they broke (which is nearly nil)

  • @wyssmaster nnaaa led zep extremely influential

  • @kester1time oh never mind i guess i'm wrong about facts derp

They didn't invent nor popularize hard rock, blues-rock, hard blues, country rock, folk rock, uhh...the idea of an album being as important as a single, or nearly anything else they did.

JPJ was a good and influential studio bassist, but he's not a top 5 all-time bassist

Jimmy Page's biggest influence was his sloppiness (don't get me wrong he was very good)

    Bonzo was a glorified Ringo

Plant was a shitty singer <_<

  • @wyssmaster Oh Jesus, another insecure Beatles fan descends on a Led Zeppelin video. Funny, how Led Heads never bother to troll Beatles videos. I wonder why??

  • @MagickZoso clearly given the fact that i made a single throwaway comment about the beatles i must be a beatles fan who does nothing but belittle other bands

how did you get that from "well zep didn't invent this, other groups did it first"

It's a simple fact that The Beatles did a LOT of what Zep did (and quite a bit more) before Zep did it. The Beatles were a monstrously influential group, both musically and socially. The Beatles are simply the most important rock/pop group ever.

  • @wyssmaster So, to make your case you call Plant a shitty singer, Bonham a "glorified Ringo", JPJ a good "studio" musician (pretty funny given the Beatles fear of leaving the studio to venture out and, you know, play live as a band) and Jimmy that good old standby "sloppy". Yeah, no belittling there at all.

  • @MagickZoso Do you know what a fucking studio musician is? It's a guy who sits in during sessions for other bands/singers and plays on the record. JPJ was a good studio musician. He could sit in for a lot of sessions (and did), and had a distinct bass sound. That DOESN'T mean that he's a top 10 all-time bassist. I don't see how you could see a fucking compliment as belittling.

also my insulting message came AFTER you accused me of belittling zep so fuck off bro

  • @wyssmaster Nope, your slagging Zeppelin (shitty singer, glorified Ringo, sloppy guitarist, etc) was what I responded to in the first place. Otherwise, I wouldn't have cared. I happen to think the Beatles were a great band as well. That's why I'm not over on a Beatles video stacking them up, player for player, against LZ and finding them lacking. Also, I'm not your Bro....I would be your Sister - and I ain't that either.

  • @MagickZoso That's simply not true, broseph. I said that Zep isn't nearly as influential as people make them out to be, and then later responded to two people who disagreed with me (one being you). I didn't actually insult any member of the band until AFTER you claimed I had (and the only one I insulted is Plant, who does NOT have a great voice).

  • @MagickZoso And I'm going to venture a guess here and say that you don't actually play an instrument. Starting with Revolver, the arrangements on Beatles records were FAR too complex to be played in a live setting as a four-piece band (and they were only going to play live as a four piece band). They were one hell of a good and popular live band, as you can hear in any recording done before they were screamed out by teenage girls. They actually stopped touring BECAUSE of those girls

  • @wyssmaster The screaming was gone by 1967 and I think you'll find that Pink Floyd was in existence by then and able to produce psychedelic music live. All the Beatles needed was a Mellotron (not an orchestra). Certainly by '68-'69 there was NO reason not to play live (and a don't mean a few songs on a rooftop). One of the things a band has to do is adapt their songs to a live setting - see Achilles Last Stand (with it's 10-12 recorded guitar parts) as an example of how it's done.

  • @MagickZoso it was gone by '67 because they weren't playing live derpderp

Pink Floyd's early psychedelic music is much MUCH different from The Beatles, though. Syd Barrett wrote music that he could (generally) play live. The Beatles deliberately wrote and recorded music that they simply couldn't play live. They used the studio as an instrument in its own right.

And it's ridiculous to think they only needed a Mellotron to reproduce their full sound live. Who would play it?

  • @wyssmaster The teenage girls had moved on to The Monkees, Indeed Beatlemania was noticeably on the wane in '66. Back to the Mellotron for a moment - you do know that, that is PRECISELY what was used to create the sounds on Tomorrow Never Knows and Strawberry Fields, right? So, yeah even if they wanted to do those two songs live they could have. Hats off to them, BTW, for using the Mellotron in the first place.

  • @MagickZoso you are aware that the beatles were social icons for the entirety of their careers together (all the way up to 1969) and individually to this day, yes? You're confusing cause and effect here. Girls moved on to the Monkees BECAUSE The Beatles weren't playing live (and by the way they didn't exactly "move on" but just couldn't see them live), not the other way around.

The Mellotron isn't on TMK. That's all tape loops (mostly from Paul) and studio wizardry

  • @wyssmaster That's what a Mellotron was, a tape-loop replay keyboard, check Wiki - yes, TMK used the Mellotron. And 12 year old girls do not scream for guys pushing 30 with lots of facial hair. Trust me, I've been a 12 year old girl - they just don't. The Beatles audience in 68-69 was a somewhat older audience than LZ's and not screaming young girls.

  • @MagickZoso I know what a Mellotron was, and it was NOT on TMK. The tape loops they used were made by Paul at his home with a tape recorder set to loop back on itself. They put the tape on at different points, sped some up, slowed some down, reversed some etc. They did it all with tape, scissors, and sticky-tape. No Mellotron

also the beatles were still huge cultural icons in the late '60s so there's that

  • @MagickZoso The Mellotron IS on SFF (but it's not that prominent, nor is it playing the whole track), but again there was still a set of musicians playing the orchestral parts on the track, not to mention the backwards cymbals.

They actually DID play Revolver-era songs live (I've got some of those tracks) and did a damn good job of getting at least a similar sound. However, with Sgt. Pepper's they deliberately made something that no one COULD play live

  • @MagickZoso Paul couldn't, because he was playing bass. But wait! Then who would play piano on the many songs that featured it? I guess John could, but then there's no one to play Mellotron! How about George? Well then there's no lead guitar. And obviously Ringo can't, because there'd be no drums.

You mention 10-12 guitar parts in Achilles' Last Stand, but the thing is that the overdubs on Beatles records weren't just doubled parts or harmonized guitars. They had tons of instruments

  • @wyssmaster I guess they could have done it the way Led Zeppelin did, where John Paul Jones played the bass part using foot pedals while playing the keyboard as well. It's not like Beatles songs are known for raging bass lines - so not that hard really...after all if JPJ (not even a top 10 bass player) can do it then McCartney should be able to as well.

  • @MagickZoso are you fucking kidding me

Do you actually listen to the basslines in Beatles songs? No, Paul McCartney is not John Entwistle (and for the record JPJ wasn't an Entwistle either) but he had a brilliant melodic style, with countermelodies which fit the songs very well. There's a reason he's known as one of the most influential and best bassists in pop/rock music.

hey bulldog has a badass bassline brohan and the line in lovely rita is fucking fantastic

  • @wyssmaster I didn't say McCartney wasn't a great bass player - I said they didn't have raging bass lines, Certainly not on something that is orchestral. The Beatles could have played live the same way that LZ did on pieces that had both keyboard and bass - use bass foot pedals like JPJ did. They CHOSE not to, but they could have if they wanted. This "we can't reproduce it on stage" was BS from a technical standpoint. Most of their later songs would have been easy to play live.

  • @MagickZoso In order to play his basslines live, on top of keyboard parts, and singing (something JPJ didn't do) Paul would have had to have the foot dexterity of a classically trained organist.

And if you actually listen to the accents and effects on their later records you would know they simply COULDN'T play them live. There was no way to reproduce reversed instruments live, nor any of the other studio tricks they used. Some would translate well (John DID play Come Together live)

  • @wyssmaster I'm going to step off here and let this thread get back to Bieber comments. I've enjoyed are back and forth (except when you told me to fuck off). I hope you'll take some time to look up some of the live Zep tracks I listed several pages ago - you won't be disappointed. They were both great bands - the best ever - and I wish like hell Bonzo, John and George were all still here today. Cheers.

  • @MagickZoso They could hardly hear themselves play, and knew that they weren't going to be playing up to their own standards if they couldn't hear themselves. They went into the studio and stopped touring to FOCUS on the music! And they turned out two of the greatest albums ever recorded (Sgt. Pepper's [although Revolver was better] and Abbey Road [greatest album ever]).

Watch videos from Let It Be. They were still tight as hell as a live band. goddamn kid

  • @MagickZoso and yes jimmy page was fucking sloppy as hell

Bro, I've been playing guitar for a few years. I know that I can be pretty sloppy. Jimmy Page was a very good finger-picking guitarist (although he'd be killed by a classically trained musician) but his soloing was sloppy. It was idiosyncratic and very good, but still sloppy.

and calling bonham a glorified ringo isn't an insult to the man

ringo was a fantastic drummer with impeccable time

  • @MagickZoso Ringo gets chided by some people for basically not being Keith Moon, which is absurd. He had taste and subtlety, and knew when to come in with a fill at just the right time. The man has at least five signature fills for God's sake!

Bonzo is praised for providing a steady backbeat, which is what people hate about Ringo! The only thing Bonzo did better was play repetitive drum solos. HEY GUYS IT'S TIME FOR SOME BASS-QUADRUPLETS AWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAH

  • @wyssmaster Well, as Hendrix said, the man had a left foot like a jack rabbit. He also had the finesse to do calypso (Fool in the Rain, featuring the half-time shuffle), reggae, country, heavy metal (Achilles, truly otherworldly) and could lock into a groove that few others could match. There's a reason he's listed as a writer on so many LZ songs. His drums are often the driving force of the music - not just the "steady backbeat".

  • @MagickZoso The thing is, any decent to good session drummer should be able to perform in a wide variety of settings. Hal Blaine was phenomenal on a ton of records. Glen Campbell (guitarist but whatever) was terrific on a variety of things. Bonham's versatility is nothing unique, nor extraordinary.

  • @wyssmaster Was Ringo that versatile? After all if Bonham is just a "glorified Ringo" Ringo should be able to go from Four Sticks to Fool In The Rain to Achilles Last Stand to D'yer Maker to Bring It On Home and back again - LIVE. Bonham is the best rock drummer period....and if you asked Ringo - he'd agree with me.

  • @MagickZoso yes he was versatile listen to the difference between please please me anna (go to him) [listen to that beat mang] till there was you no reply every little thing i don't want to spoil the party tell me why (listen to dem fills) ticket to ride (sick fucking beat) i've just seen a face drive my car michelle girl in my life taxman she said she said (phenomenal) good day sunshine got to get you into my life tmk lucy in the sky with diamonds getting better fixing a hole
  • @MagickZoso THEY KILLED MY LINE BREAKS

    when i'm sixty-four

    lovely rita

good morning good morning (weirder time than anything EVER on a zep record, and listen to the fills in the fade-out)

    a day in the life

Well, okay. There is more diversity in Sgt. Pepper's and The White Album than in the entirety of Zep's musical catalog, and Ringo was damn good on every song. And of course there's Abbey Road, the best album ever.

also ringo only screwed up a take like four times in eight years

  • @wyssmaster Zeppelin did everything from proto-Punk (Communication Breakdown) to Bluegrass (Bron Yr Stomp) to Reggae (Dy'er Maker) to Blues (Since I've Been Loving You) to Metal (Achilles) to I don't know what (Kashmir). Though not a metal band they (along with a Sabbath and Deep Purple) are the DNA of heavy metal - a huge genre of rock. They could play hard as hell or light as a feather, raunchy or ethereal, epic or intimate. They're every bit as diverse as the Beatles.
