@turtlliwdnifuoyehthr gunn is sometimes a bit different to hear, depending on what instrument tony levin is playing. Mastelotto is usually very good to hear (you can hear him here very well). The drums are kind of hard panned sideways so left channel is Mastelotto, right is Bruford. Thats however a bit more difficult with levin and gunn, fripp and belew. They are not as hard panned as the drums.
Unbelievable band and song. Greatest concert I ever saw. The quality of the audio on this is phenomenal for a live recording of them, must have been right off the board. Wish the quality of the video image was as good. Love, love, love them.
Fantastic band and STILL not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame . .totally bogus! . .Belew, Fripp, Levin, Bruford made some jaw-dropping music in the early 80's. JUst saw Belew, Levin, and Mastellatto last night in MA . .fookin unreal!
@DrRussPhd No fake, man. It should be the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame. Abba's in? Not KC? Not Rush? BTW, I saw Stick Men and ABPT in KY about two months ago. THAT was a show! Kind of felt like I amost got to see KC, which I never did. The stage in the club was about dark enough for me to imagine Mr. Fripp hanging out at the back of the stage, though.
@dbBosco1 For your information. I like ABBA also, but they are a pop music format, and KC is progressive, so to say one is better than the other you would have to do that within their own categories. And I see you are a Rush fan, Rush is not in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of fame either.
@9DrummerFromHell1 FYI: There´s TWO drummers playing, drummer from hell... 1 git., 1 dr., 1 bs. LEFT, 1 git., 1 dr., 1 bs. RIGHT. I had the luck of being born early and saw it live in 1996. This is how it looked and sounded. Get the DVD and find out yourself, or watch and listen closely to this vid. Cheers.
@fryBASS Intentional....which means one will either label then 'genius' or 'noisy'. I went to a 2008 concert and noted that some in the audience were in a bit of shock, many/most of the rest were just blown away (i.e. either you love it or hate it). In fact, there were people dancing in the aisles at the concert I went to - and they were dancing to songs like this one (which I'd never consider 'danceable')!
@trident68 This is one of the few types of music that would make me actually want to dance. Another would be Baroque music. I could easily call them genius since there are electronic recording techniques that derive origins from this band. I don't like their music because they're geniuses, though. I like it because it is heavily polyphonic, which I enjoy immensely. I definitely feel a mixture of Indian and African influence mixed with the Western ideals. It's still pretty fresh today.
Wow. Listened to this tune from the album Discipline when I was in my early 20's (some 20 odd years ago). I used to listen to it among others (Talking Heads - Remain In light album) when under the influence of LCD whilst watchin' the pictures on my massive collage I had made. I still have some of the original pics of that collage :) No longer tripped out though :( I cannot buy this album anywhere!
when they played Mexico City the last time I believe this was an encore. Lights came on, we still wanted more... they came back out again even after some people had left and played this... awesome night
the drumming at the beginning is curious, i can't tell what that fluttering sound is, and who is making it...having 6 incredible musicians together is so much fun to listen to and watch, Pat is having a lot of fun i think
@MatthuStull If you look around 4:20 you can see some metal object that is making the sound. It is a metal ring about the diameter of a snare drum, maybe an inch or two in width. I haven't seen one of those before, but I think it might be some type of a tambourine.
The weird thing is that I can't see him playing it in the beginning of the video.
thats tight how i can see King Crimson perform Frame By Frame on Youtube. I can see them perform decades ago and recently. Im sure that Fripp never anticipat3d music to take such a turn into the internet and worldwide.

@MeroTorero Fripp plays a 13/8 pattern against Belew's 7/8 pattern and after 7 repeats they come back together. It's on purpose.
