ive always loved jonathan, after watching the Tudors. but i just watched Titus last night... HE IS AMAZING. the best character in the whole movie. i had to rewind every scene he was in because he was... mmmmm wow, i wish he always looked like that!
Can someone please post the opening sequence from this movie? Where the army returns to Rome, and "stomps" into the arena. It was the best part of the film.
I sought this trailer on YouTube specifically... it definitely made some kind of impact on me when I first saw it. I dunno, it views like a trailer from the future, blending all genre of film into something unrecognizable but subconsciously freakish. It's one of those attention getting "awesome" trailers, but stands apart even from that crowd for obvious reasons. Possibly because it's a bit of an assault on your senses.
This trailer exploits the flashiness and sexuality of a movie which offers so much more. Shakespeare is difficult to edit into a trailer, but this one makes the movie look like a series of gimmiks, which it is definitley not.
I really liked this trailer ,i watched it before a few years ago and i always liked it, like considering film quality being sold off to fans wanting to see pictures then i would have saw this film if then when this film was in theaters that i could have paid so much attention to the television, and then i would have saw this film as i can never see it the way any one else could have did.
One of my favorite movies, but man, what a cheesy trailer. And to think, this trailer did make me rent the movie! Haha. Oh man. I don't think any trailer could do it justice, though. :)
very artistic and symbolic...i recommend this one if you like plays, theather, literature, things like that...this is no gladiator, braveheart, so if youre expecting an action-epic movie, forget about it, dont waste your time..... as great movie for the connosieur & the well read...pee-brains stay away at all costs, this is not your movie......
my favourite film, brilliant acting, thrilling plot (sir william is the lord! master of the word!), symbolic and ascetic sceneries. music also goes with the spirit of the film. really tasty
This is really an amazing film. Une pièce unique, if you ask me. It was just a perfect mix of theater and film that created this rather strange, but complete masterpiece.
Of course it would going to be avant-garde! I mean hello, It was a WWII julie taymor remake of titus andronicus. And as far as the lamenting goes, haven't you ever read this play before? It's Shakespeare's darkest, most tragic out of evertyhing he ever wrote. It's my favorite piece of his and they did a great new take on it. Why watch Shakespeare if you don't even enjoy Shakespearen dialogue? Idiot.

Oh gosh this was the worst film I have ever seen! Forgive me for having an opinion but this movie was too psychedelic for me. Dialogue was long-winded and I know that it isn't Julie Taymor's fault. I got really tired of the constant laments throughout the film. Meaningless and talky, such that when the funny moments came out after 2 hrs into the film, I did not even chuckle. Acting was good and fabulous costumes and scenery kept the film from sucking. 2/5 from me.

I liked the movie, but this trailer falls short.

@ProyectInvestigation agreed. the trailer pretty much demeans the film as a whole to simply "shock" value, about which this film and play is not.

A roman general captures a barbarian queen and she takes revenge. This based on the Shakespeare tragedy, Titus Andronicus.
DamnIHateYTubeTwo 4 years ago
Where's the Roman army then?
Jackalman99 4 years ago
The army appears in the trailer A.
Hopkins doesn't stay general very long in the movie.
