  • i clicked on links and i get scrapbooking supplies

  • Will printer paper work plaease reply

  • @xieandy18 It will probably work ok, but it also depends on what size squares you cut from it. Don't go too small.

  • @AdamsSara o thanks

  • origami folding is fun, attracting others is a bonus xD Thanks for all the vids!

  • no c pued

  • it must have tooken you a long time to do that. thanks for the work ^.^

  • wow, so many dots like magiiccc. :D

  • Where did yu buy the foil paper at?

  • @rewdqs I bought it at a local store. It's quite common here in Germany (but also hard to fold with).

  • silly woman, that's not how you make a sandwich.

  • i dont like your voice >:)

  • Thumbs up if you're confused ;D

  • lol sara i cannot make the epic apple! XD

  • it's very hard and very cool

  • @nadiarockArgedina Yes, use the same sized paper for the box and the lid.

  • @AdamsSara thnx ;)

  • I loves origami !!

  • you talk to much . . . . the accent makes you sound like a ROBOT

  • I did it, i came out great and once i did the first modules, the other ones were very easy. I can't wait to put the Valentine Day present in the box and give it to my boyfriend! think he's gonna love it.

    Thanks Sara

  • WHOA! IT IS SO HARD!

  • I cannot make a lid.. so I am going to shorten my paper a little bit and then make another box !!!

  • @Aleksandar998 That's a good idea. :)

  • @AdamsSara Thank you !!! :)

  • Thank you very much for this super tutorial.

    Greatings Gabriele

    ...

  • how long are the squares?

  • @OrigamiLover98 Please check the video description for details on paper size and the size of the resulting model. :)

  • Will glossy wrapping paper work? and is it better if it has two colours on each side???

  • @Cooltoy1000 Glossy wrapping paper is usually no got to fold with, because it doesn't take creases well, and usually the paper only has a thin layer of color - which breaks easily, and then exposes white. However, the best way of finding out whether the paper you have works or not is to simply give it a try. :)

  • @AdamsSara alright thanks anyway!:)

  • @AdamsSara will it help to just pat it down like wetfolding

  • where can I find that "special paper"?...it's expensive?....you found it cut like that(15 cm squares) or did you cut it?..how?...and...if I don't find that special paper, thinner paper would be fine?..thx..and sorry for that bunch of questions...

  • @CrazyBee888 I don't know where you can buy it online. Here in Germany it's widely accessible and not expensive. Yes, I had to cut it to squares first. Stiff paper works well for boxes, and thin paper usually isn't. So using slightly heavier paper is better.

  • AT 2:15 i didn't notice that she cut away and started a new clip, and when she unfolded i was so stunned. lol. But the real question is, did you see the moonwalking bear?

  • @TeamExtremerules619 And how many monkeys? :)

  • @AdamsSara 1337 :D

  • @TeamExtremerules619 no i dont see the bear

  • Amazing I made a beautiful snow ball

  • You know, I was kinda hoping that joining them together would be easier than folding them, not far harder.

  • @gamemeister27 Usually with modular origami folding is easier than assembling. I fear that's the way it is.

  • Thanks for the video! I made it first try! It came out soooo nice!

  • 12:30 to finish a module LOLXD

  • You're great!

    Such a good work :D

  • TOOOO MUCH PRECISE

  • lol someone count how many times she said crease

  • @missbethanybaby Not as often as this video has been viewed. ;)

  • Muchas gracias me había trabado en el diagrama!!!

  • Great instructions! I'm fairly new at origami and it took me a little over 3 hours to make the whole thing, but overall it's pretty simple. I gave it to my mom and she was thrilled =)

  • @Zorofoe Great to hear this. Congrats on completing the book, and superb to hear your mother liked it. I like making things for people, because I believe it shows appreciation. It may not cost much money, but lots of love and dedication. And that's worth so much more. :)

  • adamsara, dont you think your video is far too detail ? i need to jump the video to make the model

  • @levinchau123 No, I don't. You can jump steps if you think it's too detailed. But others, who need details, couldn't fill them in if they weren't there.

  • Tissue foil is also very nice paper to make this box.

  • dotted lines appear outa nowhere WE'RE UNDER ATTACK

  • @AdamsSara this is a litlle inermediate for a 12 yr old do you have somthing a little easier

    Thank ypu please reply.

  • @Ashleystarrocks My newest video on Hans-Werner's "Jump" is a stunning looking, but easy to complete model. Maybe you want to give that one a try.

  • @Ashleystarrocks im 12 years old and i made it without a problem lol she explained it very well

  • @yoda1998 well im 10 and its soo easy

  • that is cool paper

  • your voice is oddly soothing...

  • got it first try and i made it gold blue and a sparkling white it was very nice

  • @shelby522002 Cool, and the color combination sounds stunning.

  • @AdamsSara who in there right mine wants to fold paper like this to find out u can make a box of of it all day long?? lol

    *hey want to get lad?*

*no i am going to go fold paper way people can never do or think of but thank you any ways*

  • @richard2mitchell Ah, I'm not forcing anyone to do origami. It's your decision whether you want to fold something or not. Or whether you'd rather do something different. I wouldn't measure a hobby by how attractive it makes you to others, though, but by how much enjoyment it gives you. And I'd hope attracting others isn't the only enjoyment you can imagine.

  • @AdamsSara lol no i push people away

  • are we allowed to use tape to lock in the modules?

  • @richard2mitchell Know what actually gets you laid? Being able to do cool shit like this. Hell, fold a girl a rose sometime.

  • YAY I MADE A SNOWBALL!

  • i know Robin Glynn i never know he made modls

  • cool vid.. thannks.. and moe surprising is that the breaks that must exist in the vid (becausen the creases are marked by a pen and this is not shown in the vid) are baely visible! :)

  • @shubhamgupta30 I try my best to hide those breaks. :)

  • she sounds like a robot

  • ohh u should of should that diagrahm whil folding cuz then i coundnt get the bottom conect srry every 1 makes mistakes

  • when puttingf it together i did every thing exacactly as u said i had large dificulties with the bottom because thge places dont fit and there diff from what ud did >(

  • i would make more stuff if you did less talking more about what your folding and go in to detail which you do a good job at other than your talking problem good job.

  • @Origamiball Well, I talk about how to fold. If you don't like this you can always mute the video. ;)

  • u are awesome! that barbellatje guy told me to go here, and now its easier!! thank you! ive always wanted to make this!

  • hi adam sara, im sorry about the comment that i wrote, you see im 9 and share this YouTube account with my aunty. so sorry if i upset you but im quite young.

  • thank you for posting this ^ ^

  • Why is so heavy?!?!??!

  • holy shiz, its so annyoting when she also says "liek so", and "crease/creases" omg its so annoying

  • Like everything we teach. Fantastic.

Keep working, so we can keep learning and enjoying the "origami" Thank you for that.

    Receive a cordial greeting

  • so much talking about so much stuff i dont care about

  • that's what i said!

  • Comment removed

  • I like the accent it's a calming accent

  • @snotrod7 especially the word "fold"

  • @snotrod7 except for the loud talking whistles

  • Dude that aint a british accent [ i think]

  • I'm German, if that helps. So no, it's not a British accent. But I did live in England for 3.5 years, so you might be able to hear some British influences in my German accent.

  • @AdamsSara ya i can hear it just a bit (: why are al the kewl origami projects so damn complicated i just folded paper for 30 minutes for what seems to be almost 3000 (more or less )

folds only to try and put the project together and fail ):ADHD and "good origami" do not mix well im a teen mind

  • @AdamsSara 30:40-48 sounds like you're instructing a sex ed. class hahahahha

  • @AdamsSara ...you honestly said crease and creases 94 times in this 38.27 minute video hahahahhahahahaha i actually counted and only listend to count cause i was bored out of my mind!!!

  • such a british accent!

  • how often did you say crease? my tongue hurt just from listen to this word :-D

  • creasecrease creasecrease creasecreasecrease creasecrease crease creasecreasecreasecrease creasecrease

    any other words used?^^

  • on "unit for box" 00:00-12:43 she used the words "crease" and "creases 47 times more or less but im pretty sure its only 47 omg lol my pen tip fell off at31:08 from writing "so many numbers to keep track of her "crease,&,creases lmao

she says "crease and creases in this38:27 minut video 94 times HOLY SHIZZ MAN!!!

  • Would you suggest I use "fold" more often instead? :p

  • Not at all... I love origami and I think its lovely... PSSSH! No patience ehh?

  • thank you

  • where did you get the foil paper

  • It's widely available in Germany, but really not a joy to fold with... I don't know whether it's available online anywhere. In Germany, most paper / arts and crafts stores have the foil I used, and around Christmas time even supermarkets might have it.

  • DANG 38 min o.O but the box is worth it

  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lo mejor o.k la proxima uno en español porque a mi tambien me gusto y lo necesito en español

  • Good vid,.... but I thought origami means,.... made of one piece of paper,.... so this couldn't be origami,....^^

  • this is called modular origami. Modular origami basically is more than 1 sheet of paper, but still have folds, no cutting or/and no tape or glue.

  • yeah,... I know,.... I was just wondering, because in the title nothing with modular appears,.... and because of that I just wanted to say that this isn't the traditional origami,.... ^^

and please excuse my english,....^^ greeting from GER =)

  • 38 minutes omg how I can only post 10min videos

  • Gee, why are you so afraid to call it a Star of David?

  • @atlantoon gee why are you bugging other people with your star of david Mr. Jew?...This is a hexagramm or 6 pointed star. You wouldn't change the word moon just because muslims call it "hilal" would ya? I doubt "David" invented the hexagramm, btw, who's David?

Hint: Religion is for loosers who are unable to take response for their actions!

  • I love your work and videos!

Thank you so very much and congrats for the amazing works! \o\

  • A 6-Pointed Star is also called a Hexagram I believe. Like a Pentagram for 5-Points ?

  • very clear videos as always. thanks.

  • Thank you so much Sara!

This box was a wonderful model to work on. But well, it took me a day to do this XD

Cause some parts i couldn't do it but in the end i figured it out :D

  • Wow... I like the way you speak... you speak more clearly, unlike your other later videos... What other origami videos are you planning to make next? I would like to see more origami boxes this month...

  • I don't think I have time to make another instructional video this month. The next video should be the Jack in the Box by Hugo Pereira, and I've got quite a list of things I want to do after that. I'm not sure which one I'll pick yet, though. Probably an apply by Shuzo Fujimoto, or a geometric object by John Montroll.

  • win will you make the jack in the box

  • I finally did it! It took me 3 and a half hours, but it was well worth it =)

  • I love making origami boxes. This one I wanna make, but I ran out of large size paper...

I also love when you make a fold a marking shows up.

  • sara i like how you say modual :)

  • Hi Sara! Glynn's box... :D At least you show how it should be ; ) I never liked it that way ... so what I did at 14:05 in your vid is to tuck in that flap as per the other side as I felt it looked better and makes the box just as strong ... or rather just as fragile ; ) Back in those days I still had the 10 minute limit :( Anyhow great job as always!! PS Not sure why your vid doesn't say "this is a response to " as yours does show up at mine as a response. Anyhow Take care!

  • Yes, I noticed that, and I think I like your variation better, too. Having said that, I think the way it's shown in the diagrams and here can help you get a more symmetrical looking model. Or, at least, it gives you a reference as to how the modules should be aligned exactly.

  • hey sara im so glad to see the star box because i know the next video you are going to make is the jack in the box. yeaaahhhhh. im also reading some comments and i have to say on behalf of all the ungreatful people out thier in youtube land thanks for the videos. one of the reasons why people dont do origami is because its to hard. you make it possible for the rest of us to continue our hobby. thanks

your video instructions are getting better. ever think of coming out with a dvd origami book.

  • I think it is nice to have a couple of different versions of instructions sometimes, sometimes there is a step which i cant see properly or something i need confirming and it is useful to look at another vid as reference. thanks for another excellent post Sara.

  • nice, but surely you knew that barbabellaatje, another origami guru here on youtube made a 10 min vid explaining how to make this box last year.

  • Yes, I'm aware of the video, and I had a quick chat with barbabellaatje about my plans for this video some time ago. I think we both have a different style for our videos, and some will like barbabellatje's better, some will like mine better. The two main differences between the videos are: first, I show both the box and the lid, while barbabellaatje's shows the box only; and second, I go more slowly, adding verbal instructions and using differently coloured modules.

  • thats very pretty :D

  • How do you get foil paper?

  • LOVE IT!!!! ^_^

  • cool :)

  • Oh this is totally wicked!

  • is that sandwhich foil

  • Yes, the model in the beginning is folded from a foil-paper-foil sandwich. While it's usually really hard to work with, I've found it works really well for this model.
