Actually, Tom Hambridge was the cowriter of Skin Deep. I bought a CD and had my photo taken with him. What I didn't get was the little kid they brought on stage that played drums during this song. He was pretty good for being 9 and cute and everything, but I don't get the reasoning or the relationship that brought him onstage.
It was actually funny. Some audience members were a bit rude and would shout "Buddy" and "Woohoo" and whatever when Buddy was trying to speak. These blues players are storytellers and they like to connect with their audience and reminisce about the songs or another musician, and some people in the audience were really out of line with their comments. He must have told them to shut up 15 times during the performance.

The little boy is Ross Thompson and grandson of my dear friend Gina. I heard of that concert but just stumbled over it today. What a surprise!
