  • I'm not an expert but your form is perfect and controlled compared to some of the others who post on you tube. Can I ask, how much could you do the very first time you started? And how quickly did you get to where u are now?

    I weigh 114 pounds and I chest 40kgs dumbells 3 sets of 8 reps is that any good?

  • Does anyone know of a good technique for getting into starting position?

  • if the dumbbells are on the ground, stand up and pick them up with ur back straight not bent.

    dont pick up the dumbbells with each hand while sitting down on the bench.

    just lean back and when ur back is flat on the bench adjust ur dumbbells and just push up

  • Does anyone else find the first rep the most difficult when they are kicking the dumbells up to themselves for this exercise? I find it is much easier if someone passes the dumbells up to u before starting

  • yes of course, u can do more reps if someone gives u the dumbbells before starting, for myself i can do 2 more reps.

  • yeh man, getting into position in lifts like DB bench-press/shoulder press is the hardest part!

  • Sorry dude....I wasnt getting into you about your form, I was taking a stab at people who say form is everything.....you can make gains with less than perfect technique is all I was trying to say....Like i said give it your all and you will feel the difference. good work though!!

  • form is for people who hit a plateau and cant get past it..........quit mucking around grab some heavy ones and watch yourself shake!! thats when youre really working.....its just like running you can look like a tuned athlete when running but are you working?? give it all youve got and see the snot run and let the vomit make you panic.........

  • first of all: im not heavyweight lifter man im fitness man, and second; the proper form - TECHNIQUE is the main thing in this sport not the weight that u cannot lift by yourself. I DONT LIKE TO CHEAT MYSELF.

  • u know what, u need to do this exercise like i do with FULL RANGE OF MOTION, otherwise u will not achieve your full development of chest and also u will lose your elasticity.

  • dude that's awesome form. i don't bench much (i'm more of a curl type of guy, though i'm starting to get at it, i can bench 50 pounds per arm with good form). dude you rock!
