  • Mike. You should serve up these vids with kleenex for the cry babies.

  • This was stupid. I think less than a minute of this 10-minute "How To Build a Water Garden Pond from a Swimming Pool" actually deals with the "how to" part, there's little discussion of "how to," and it's not wasn't really even a pool because it's been filled in.

  • @theoriginalskytag So sorry to have wasted 10 minutes of your life! If your are truly looking for a how to and not just complaining, please check out the latest 2 videos of a swimming pol to pond conversion. I will change the title of this video as well.

  • Even if you didn't do a good job Jesus Would've forgiven you ^-^ hehehe... Nice

  • @monoroma1 Let's hope so! thanks for the comment! visit thepondhunter on facebook

  • why didnt you cover up the pump at 4:18

  • that was a shallow swimming pool

  • @kellydjelly wasnt shallow they tarped it

  • @irecordpornos thanks, cause i was wondering..lol

  • do you glue some of the rocks in place with silicone or something?

  • @TheLeftylegend14 Hey Lefty, I use a construction foam, triple expanding to help control water flow and stabilize some of the rocks.

  • how much is the black sheet thing u use in the bottom of pond

  • @cacaboy900 Hey Caca, that is called EPDM, it is usually sold by the square foot anywhere from $0.80 to $1.00 depending on quality and who is selling it.

  • ah wow. I think i want to quit my stressful job and become a monk.

  • @Craptron2000 Hey Craptron, that is not a bad idea, maybe I will too. Thanks for checking out the videos and commenting. visit me on Facebook on the Pond Hunter page!

  • no bottom drain needed ?

  • @IntegraGSR5 Hey Integra, thanks for checking out the videos. Bottom drains tend to be pretty controversial in the pond building world, but for the majority of installations I do, a bottom drain is not installed. I would not consider them "necessary" for a pond to be successful and I base my opinion on buildings hundreds of ponds over the last 18 years, but some people will feel very strongly otherwise. I say if you want one install it, if you don't you can still have a successful pond.

  • @thePondHunter does that pond have to be drained once a year ? great advice from a professional like u though, what about the retro drain and bottom drain. which 1 would u recommend ? im really scare of the leak from the true bottom drain.

  • @IntegraGSR5 Hey Integra, yes this pond gets drained and completely cleaned annually, it is a smaller pond and a yearly cleaning is easy. If you are doing a bottom drain use the retro if it feels better for you, they both pretty much work the same way they are just connected differently. Leaks from bottom drains can definitely be disastrous, but if they are installed correctly shouldn't be a problem, I have only seen a few disasters in 18 years or so, smaller problems can be fixed.

  • you guys probably have the most detailed pond videos on youtube thanks guys. And can you make a turtle pond video? It would be very helpful

  • @xTochimax Thanks Tochimax! I try to make the videos as informational as possible. As soon as we are contracted to build a turtle pond I will definitely make a video of the project, I have had several turtle pond video requests. Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting. Visit me on Facebook on THE POND HUNTER page! See you there.. PH

  • how could anyone swim in that pool?

  • Wow, it looks clear, I've never seen a manmade pond that's clear like that and doesn't use a liner.

  • @EddieBrockVenom Hey Eddie thanks for checking out the video and commenting, hope to hear from you again. This pond actually does have a liner in it, I used 45mil EPDM for the pond, and a skimmer biofalls filter system. Hey, if you are on facebook check out my LOVEYOURPOND page, see you there too! -PH

  • @thePondHunter Ahh thank you for the info. When I get a house soon (lol) I'm going to use your style of making a pond then. THanks!

  • @EddieBrockVenom Ok Eddie, just be sure to send me pictures of you pond when you build it!

  • @thePondHunter Sure thing! :D

  • @EddieBrockVenom Thanks Eddie.

  • im not too much of a fan of your ponds, you use may too many small rocks

  • @dkj1835 thanks for your comment. I can appreciate that the ponds we build may not appeal to everyone, thanks for your honesty. What you usually see in any of these videos are designs based upon what our customer wants to see and have in their pond, and based upon what they desire, that's what we create. Maybe there are some other project videos of mine that you might find appealing, maybe not, but all the same thanks for watching!

  • @thePondHunter You can make me a pond any day....

  • @Ariegiggles Well now today would be a fine day! Thanks for watching and if you are on Facebook visit my The Pond Hunter page. Hope to see you there! -PH

  • @thePondHunter Haha I don't even own a home to build a pond in. When I get older, and buy a home, I would be more than happy for you to build one :) Until then, I dont have a pond to play in,

  • @Ariegiggles Advice, get a pond first, then worry about a home to live in ;-) JK thanks for watching. Visit me on Facebook to at The Pond HUnter page or at LOVEYOURPOND page.

  • sorry, bt the sound level of yours videos are the worstss

  • @reguesky Hi, I got to agree the sound is bad, I am trying ot upgrade my equipment this year for better video and sound quality, thanks for the feedback though, it gives me some resolve to get this done sooner than later, thanks for watching and commenting. -PH

  • You're growing salvia there? Wtf...

  • @titnut4 Hey Titnut, thanks for checking out the videos. Its not THAT kind of salvia, it is an ornamental variety that gets nice blue flowers...a bit tamer than other varieties.

  • TO SMALL WHY NO USE THE WHOLE POOL

  • I have a swiming pool kidny shaped pool and want to turn it into a koi pond you skiped over how to install the drainage under the tarps

  • Hey, yes I had to edit out that portion of the project to keep time down. Basically the old swimming pool had drainage and we tapped into that for our drainage using gravel channels to direct the water to the main drain. Thanks for watching!!

  • how deep is it

  • This pond is just under 3 feet deep.

  • how much time would it be to do one like this but half the size, as a home project and what is the song? thanks

  • Hi, it is hard for me to say how long it would take you because there is so many variables in construction, but a typical pond like this would probably take a homeowner/hobbyist about 6 days, pehaps more. The song is "Take a Picture" by Filter

  • why dont you make a big pond when i worked at a water garden shop some guy bought 1783 spaure ft of pond tarp

  • Hello, I've built many big ponds over the last 15 years, but for this project they were not interested in a big pond, they wanted something small to sit by, so that's what I built!

  • look's great that monastery must have some money to build and have all that nice stuff. You did a great job with that pool turned to a pond

  • Interestingly enough they are very frugal, but they have some nice benefactors!

  • interesting, but I'm glad they have some nice amenities for what the do.

  • very inspiring!!!

  • If only we did every project like God was the boss...we should so do our best because it is the right thing to do. I hope many people get a blessing from looking at this great pond.

  • I hope this as well for all the viewers. GBY

  • Looks Great !!!!! THe Lord Will Be Happy:D

  • AMEN!

  • awesome video i think they will be meditating just fine close to that beautifull pond and maybe when everythings grown a bit more you could go back there and see how its going :D maybe make a video so we can see it to :)

  • Thanks, I know that they have been making great use of it. I was back there recently and all of the nuns are very giddy over their new garden. Everybody loves a new toy!
