what scares me is there is NOTHING to replace our current fleet of tired birds...and sadly...there are NO new designs to replace them even of we had the fiscal means.
@jjjazzycraig Well we got the osprey to replace the 46, and the yankee and zulu models to replace the AH-1W and UH-1N. So that takes care of those. For the rest of them... I don't know. I guess for the time being we'll still be updating the KC-130 and 53s.
@steagle33 point taken...BUT...the success of the osprey remains to be seen and what will replace the fast movers???...we have lost our edge...all the GREATS are gone...there are no more Hughes...or Grummans around anymore...and sadly, the training SUX...there is no more top gun program...heck...we send pilots over to germany to train...we are SKREWED.
@jjjazzycraig True. i'm a little short sighted though, I don't really care about fixed wing b/c I'm a AH/UH mechanic. So I guess I only care about rotary wing aircraft. Not saying I think there isn't a problem, but I'll let someone else worry about fixed wing. I've got enough to handle with my aircraft. Sometime in the next couple years I'll be quadruple qualified- once they bring the yankee and zulu to the east coast.
You know what, you are right. I was actually reading off the program pamphlet and noticed there were two UH-1s scheduled and this particular one is the H model. The next video i'm about to upload with two Cobras and one Huey is probably the one with the UH-1N. Thanks for the heads up.
GR8 video.
