  • @TheKrishux i prefer u than a cheap ho xD

  • @designRpt well thats nice to know xD

  • @TheKrishux Get the banhammer now :p

  • I have to see this again. I rented it from a library ages ago. I enjoyed it but I feel like I could appreciate it more now..

Especially since I'm into steampunk and It's set in my hometown.

  • This is the REAL 2D animation! I haven't seen 2D this beautiful in western films. Maybe they should start making animation in the duration of ten years

  • One of the best anime made, even though it's historically inaccurate. It's Sci-Fi! I liked it much better than Akira. Usually I prefer watching Japanese anime in its original language, I thought the English language version was better, maybe due to its western theme.

  • 好きですよ!!!!

  • Anyone else see Dark Cloud 2 when they watch this? I freaked out the first time I saw the trailer, thinking there was a dark cloud movie. Anyways, gonna watch it for the first time today. Hope I Love it!

  • me also...at 4am...(little later..around 5..)

  • i love it....i see it this morning at 4 o'clock in italy *_*

  • i love this movie! the japanese are amazing!!!

  • i dont think many people have noticed but this movie is only half of the steamboy storyline. if you noticed in the credits, the story continues on much further and it seems even better the first half. i just wish otomo would create the second half and not take 10 years to do it

  • This movie took ten years to make, and it was fabulous. But sadly it was very unpopular among Japanese critics.

  • Ha ha I just saw this comment, It's a bit later but still...

Steampunk has been around since the 80s, long before this movie came out. Most of us modify everyday objects to look as if they are Victorian/Steam Powered, and like to dress up for special occasions or LARPs, but some of us dress like that all the time. I'm one of the "all the time" crowd. It's good fun.

  • I need to see this again!

  • this reminds me of city of ember...a lot

i really want to see this

  • whats with all the arguing. instead someone post a comment telling me if this is worth watching.

  • thank you! im trying to see if it worth buying and i barely see any feed back with the comments

  • Just finished watching the movie, and yes it is definitely worth a watch, if not definitely a purchase. If you like Steampunk at all, you'll love it. If you liked The Rocketeer, you should like it as well.

  • English dub is much better... the Japanese version produces an eerily younger-sounding voice of er... that old man voiced by Patrick Stewart in the English-dubbed version of Steamboy.

  • Im 18 so im abit old and i live in the UK so we dont get much anime... but i saw this on TV and it was Pretty Amazing!! i wish i waas younger then i could appreciate anime more! :(

  • it's hard to say but you could probably appreciate it LESS because there are many things you just don't understand when you are a child, historical references and stuff

  • Actually, with everything you see in anime, 18 is actually a bit YOUNG!

  • Try Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, for instance.

You don't have to go that far to prove your point, tough - that one's quite heavy.

And Paranoia Agent. I don't see much people younger than that enjoying it.

  • LOL! How old are you?

  • It's an ideology issue. Most people in western countries were made into thinking animation is supposed to target only children, and any deviation from this norm will be seen as 'weird' or, in some demographics, 'uncool'.

In fact, most youth don't appreciate the kind of effort put into some creations. We're talking top-noch plot and visuals, here.

As young children are brought into a state where they'll accept pretty much »any« animation work, with older people, it's the opposite.

  • don't mean to sound mean or anything but thinking that you are 18 and getting too old for anime just shows how much you really don't understand or appreciate it

  • you dont need to be younger to do that

  • i'm 17 and i would like to recomend you to watch Paprika. very psychological, and not at all for children.

  • howdo i watchit, ive heard of it, it looks great, how do i see it?

  • just search for it here on Youtube. i think there's a dubbed english version!

  • Paprika rocks.

  • I LOVE THAT MOVIE, I recently watched it.

    Mindblowing, understood everything.

  • I think some of the music for this trailer was specially created... because I don't hear it in the official soundtrack (or in the movie itself). Like the music from 4:55 onward.

    Totally awesome movie.
