  • Thank you so

    Much lol

  • I like Persian tie

  • Today I stood up for my ideals wearing a tie with a knot that I was able to do thanks to this video. Thanks!

  • THANK YOU GOT IT ON FIRST GO

  • FIRST DAY WORKING AT THE BANK. NOT ONLY DID I GET IN THE FIRST TRY, IT WAS A GREAT CONFIDENCE BOOSTER TO START THE DAY SO Thanks.

  • You tie it the way I was taught, which is slightly different than the way most people do it. At 0:22 you move the large side to your left (like me), but most people move it to the right.

Look at other Youtube videos that demonstrate the Windsor knot and you will see what I mean if you don't know already.

Is it you and I who do it backwards or everyone else?

  • thank you so much, it really helped me today before going to church

  • I tie an "inverse" Windsor. Believe it or not, I learned it on the old Rush Limbaugh Show when he was on TV. It looks identical but smaller, and they are really shortening the tie lengths these days (I guess to cave money).

I'll get a video out on this because it really is an awesome way to do it!

  • thank you

  • My brain hurts...thanks though finally got it :P

  • @AbuM3an WELL MY FRIEND DON'T WORRY IM POSITIVE WE TAKE THE SAME SOLUTION AFTER THE PAIN BRAIN

  • Dino Yaght Club brought me here.. and it was very informative :D I could NEVER tie a necktie until now.

  • I forgot it after years, Thank god for youtube.

  • Dude!!! this is the first time I Knot my tie ever!!! Thank you so much!

  • @nickfoxer dumbass because it's the perspective as if looking in a mirror, which is the easiest to do.

  • all im gonna say is Catholic school, 5 days a week, forgetful teenager, detentions avoided. THANK YOU

  • How did i get here?

  • THANKS ALOT MAN....

  • bloody impossible!

  • Thank you very very very much!

  • Thank you soooo much!

  • And it comes out....... looking exactly like a normal tie knot! lol

  • You can know when i have to use a tie because of my number of views of this video :P

  • am ok with the ordinary tie tying, but the windsor, which my son needs to stop himself getting "peanutted" at school, is a difficult one. Thanks for the video. :-)

  • There are 4,000,000 plus people that dont know how to tie a tie. Makes me feel better about not knowing myself. :)

  • I have used this countless times!! thank you!

  • At least no one talks about rabbits going around trees, thats so confusing.

  • 347 people derped some herp

  • questo nodo così fatto è pessimo!

  • Didnt work

  • The amount of pussy I will get with this

  • We want prenup!

  • mines looks gay lol

  • 343 people have no hands.

  • Thanks!!! :) I love how many men like myself had to use this!

  • 4 million people didnt know how to tie a tie? make that 4 million and 1

  • I DID IT I DID IT

    except it's two inches long

  • ahh, thank God! my school recently changed their uniform, i had no idea how to do the tie! 3 weeks in and i finally know! :)

  • 1 look at the video

2 do it with the tie

3 look back at the video

    4 WTF JUST HAPPENED

  • This is not what others are calling the "Windsor"

  • This is now my go-to video for whenever I need to tie a tie. Thank you.

  • Very very very good, excellent, the best one ever seen. Congractulations and very best regards from São Paulo - Brazil.

  • 338 people are frustrated because they can't tie this knot

  • I shocked by the amount of people on here who didn't know how to do this before watching this video.

  • this video saved me an hour

  • if you only knew how many times I had to find this video on my computer & my phone before church...i'd be poor...lol...hubby has me fix his tie!

  • @iDomeanica

    :-)

  • Dude you go yo a church? :D

  • im not a knot expert but i swear all these knots look THE SAME

  • I can only do it when watching the video so every freakin morning I have to look at this video....

  • @rich7t7 Sometimes me too! lol

  • @rich7t7 that would explain the extremely high number of viewers for the vid

  • @rich7t7 tell me bout it.

    me to.

  • Great video, finally I can rock the Winsdor knot, still working on perfecting the dimple below the knot.

  • It's so easy to tie the Windsor, but if you want it perfect it takes time.

  • @moko1117 It's not easy compared to a four in hand. a one-eyed, three-fingered monkey could tie a four in hand.

  • I'm a fucking retard and cannot do this....

  • Job interview in 6 hours. Lets hope this video teaches my dumbass how to tie a tie

  • @rak000 how did it go? did this knot get u across the line?

  • Thank you!

  • got it the third time! thanks!

  • @Leycomsucks how u gonna put shit and church in the same sentence? Lmao

  • Ha ha! Victory! I don't even know why I felt the need to learn this, I'm a 19 year old girl...maybe just to say I can?

  • Pff.. I just failed..

  • yeah bay-beeeee!

  • Comment removed

  • thanks man ! you totaly saved me <3

  • finally after a million years i learned how to do it

  • good

  • good

  • Thanks im an air cadet and I nearly shit myself not knowing this due to the fact that i have a massive church service in fifteen minutes, thank you!!!!!

  • @Leycomsucks same! i always thought i was doing it right untill i was told at my last parade night that it was wrong, ive got s church service tommorow, so this has really saved me!

  • good

  • good

  • Thank you, you saved me from getting fired. THANK YOU!!!

  • Thank you, very well done.

  • This is actually beautifully done. As a woman I just want to say I find fewer things sexier and more charming than a well knotted tie.

    Well done sir!

  • You are fiddling with the tie way too much while your hands are on the way.. I'm sorry but to me (never done one) this is useless.

  • perfect, you don't even need sound for it!

  • Sound?!

  • hmmm, i've always been doing a different version of a full windsor, that's peculiar...

  • THANKYOU!

  • siden denne filmen er norsk hjalp den mye på 17. mai :D

  • It would be interesting to analise the effects on the number of views by adding words like gravata, corbata, Krawatte and cravate to the title.

  • hey guys... play this song as the background to this video.. with this tag sI7XiJgt0vY

    perfect timing too

  • Life saviour!:D

  • This got me to my job interview on time :)

  • @HomeMadeZin : Hope you got the job!

  • you saved me my officer would have killed me for not knowing

  • this video worked for me :-)

  • Thanks

  • Dude you're awesome i was doing the "half" (incorrect) windsor until now!!!

  • yay! i did it!!! needed it for school:))))))

  • thank you sir! Model UN is coming up (tomorrow actually), and you are awesome! Just wish i had a bigger tie

  • Life saver for me today, mate. Thanks very much!

  • thans for thew help

  • i fuggin did it!!!

  • Finally, after several trials, I'VE MADE IT PERFECTLY!

  • thanks! now my hubby can look good in his dress blues!

  • Thanks so much man, I needed to know how to properly tie this for cadets

  • TY sir you saved me

  • @MrThirdstring Same here! =D

    Yeah, Thanks @avvi66 =)

  • thank you soooo much

  • This was very helpfulllll... Thank you...

  • You could play some Harry James or some Perry Como music with this vid. But, it's a good vid without it too.... thanks !

  • Thanks Avi!

  • спасибо !!!! класс

  • I love the fact that its silent.. Hey what do you think of my tie video on my page?

    thanks

  • I lost half my brain watchin this

  • I think these guy want to kill me :S!!!

  • Great Vid... I have been doing it wrong for years.

  • Great video. I presume you could reverse the tie and start with the wide end on the left?

  • It helped a lot Thks

  • first try i got it with this vid. other vids watched like 7 times and couldnt get it down. thankS! off to school!

  • Wonderful! Thank you for posting a useful tie video. As for all these other video's on the right, they ALL fucking FAIL!

  • im with bond, only cads use the full windsor!!

  • wow much better than the "how to tie a tie" video - like how it's slowed down, did it along with the video, perfect result on the first try! thank you!

  • Thank you!

  • i actually sometimes tie the double windsor. i do mean the sixteen move knot. its huge. you just have to start with about 2 or 3 inches of the skinny end hanging down. so the double windsor does exist. lol

  • @theundergroundkitteh

    :-D Good one...

  • @theundergroundkitteh Any online source/video for the real Double-Windsor?

  • @theundergroundkitteh Any online source/video for the real Double-Windsor?

  • @blolas not that i know of. i guess sarcasm can't be typed well.

  • @theundergroundkitteh It most certainly does exist. I found it here tcm.phy.cam.ac.uk/~tmf20/tieknots.shtml and to quote directly The Windsor knot "is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the double-Windsor; no such not(sic) exists, unless it is meant to refer to the ludicrously large 16-move knot, Li Co Ri Lo Ci Ro Li Co Ri Co Li Ro Ci Lo Ri Co T. "

  • Yes I Can!!! :D

  • finally I got it myself aswell!! Aft I don't know how many bloody attempt to pull this knot off!!!! Thanx for the guy who posted this.

p.s: does anyone really need to hear a background music on a clip like this?

  • @GrafKarpador you need to straighten it out by tugging the top two sides while holding the bottom of it firmly =3

  • The biggest scandal on youtube!

  • @Leftnan8 u mad

  • So would the length of the tie (neck to belt) be shorter than the Half Windsor because you did so many loops ?

  • @counkev It's going to be a lot shorter if you don't adjust it beforehand. I don't know about you but I like mine tied about the same length either way--down to my belt line-- so I start the full windsor with much less on the smaller side of the tie.

  • i just want to thank you soo much! this has been the only vid out-of-trillion that i actually learned from.

  • Tyty, helped me out at the last minute attending my brothers wedding :P

  • oh man, why is it that no matter how many times I try (and execute properly) I never get the triangle but some kind of rectangle? /: may it depend on tie thickness?

  • Oh thank goodness. I'm oly 15 and i've, within 5 minutes of practice, perfected the Windsor knot! ^_^

  • This is a savior

  • why the hell is a tie the most difficult thing to tie in the work! everytime i learn how to do it i forget!

  • why are people complaining about the missing sound all the time? are you talking to yourself in front of the mirror in the morning,or is your stereo system in your bathroom?

also, how can you fail with the knot? i just used this video as a mirror and went along with the movements as if those hands in the video were my own and the screen a mirror and voilà looks absolutely perfect and i didn't even look down at my own tie while doing it...and if you still fail: just keep practicing for f***'s sake

  • @bunnybrain

You have truly understood it all.

    Kudos to you!

  • @avvi66 thank you. and to you, too =)

  • @avvi66 I don't need music for this to it's job, I have very bad hand eye coordination and this video got me to tie a perfect knot, I have watched several other videos on youtube, that have left me frustrated, you truly are a master of the craft.

    Sincerely,

    Your student.

  • @bunnybrain

By that logic no one should go to school. It's just talking, after all.

  • @bunnybrain I'm just glad that you said "voila" instead of wah-lah...

  • @tech4me bien sûr, pourquoi dois-je écrire "wah-lah". ;P

  • @bunnybrain 'cause that's how many people say/think it's said... :P

  • @tech4me thank god i never saw anyone spell it like that. i'm always for: write only in a foreign language if you know what it means and how to spell it! - that said, typos can happen of course ;)

  • @bunnybrain I actually think that the secret is in not looking at your tie while you do it :-)

  • @MrAlbatroz00 did work for me,

so maybe it is indeed ;-)

  • @MrAlbatroz00 Agreed. The entire objective is to put a moderately complex knot under your chin. When you look down, you need to have a larger neck loop, which means less space to work with.

  • yaaaay!!! i can FINALLY tie a REAL looking knot for the hubs! thank you..so ridiculously easy that i did it perfectly on the first try!! THANKS!!!!

  • This is crap, I need speech, this silence bullshit is creepy. Why are you not speaking?? Are you really a man..... hmm freaky, anyway I still cant do this stupid knot...........my tie looks like a 3 year old child tied it, please help lol

  • sweet! thanks! just made the best tie I've ever made! haha

  • that looked like any other tie knot i have seen, it probably takes longer to do too

  • Thx! Now I know how to kill myself!

  • Did I turn my speaker on?

  • do you know what kind of tie brian williams wears? it doesn't seem to be one-in-hand since it's a bit too long, but please correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks!

  • @ehuang8 actually i meant four-in-hand

  • I was actually able to figure it out with this video. My next project, to make a top down video of the windsor knot. From a POV version which should make this a lot easier...

  • I'm 13 and it's so easy it made me look smart

  • The military advised me to practice this knot, handing me a sheet of paper with the most obscurely drawn how-to diagram ever made. I'm glad this video exists. Thanks!

  • my hero! thank you Tieman!

  • i loved this is made as if i was in the mirror

  • Thanks, i have relied on my dad doing it for me for years! Now i can do it, although , i do need to watch thge video whilst im doing it!

  • Thanks dudes, it's nice to finally have learned. I remember my dad trying to teach me to tie a double windsor, I was just too dense. Much better to have a video that you can rewind a billion times.

  • your hidden face, gives this feeling that youre like.. some kind of masked superhero who ties other people's ties for them.

  • @JessikahAznBabyy Hehe I admit im totally a "dumbazz" trying to do it learning instructions in a paper. This is awesome and sure, its like to have a "super-hero" Aid. Btw, 2 hours later i have an interview and also i have to give a psychotechnical test. Hope this Knot * that i`ve never wore bfore * give some luck. Thank you Folks for sending us such clear video XD

  • Excellent video. Very helpful.

  • good thing he used a mannequin, you could hurt yourself doing that.

  • Great video, thanks :)

  • thanks to you guys i just learned how to tie a tie right before a job interview lol..what would i do without youtube

  • Does it actually matter if you begin with the narrow end on your right side or left side?

  • @jeolmmum no, just do everything backwards

  • Excellent and easy to follow

  • @realjusuR

Why have music? This way no one has to hear music they don't like... or that they're sick and tired of.

  • @avvi66 Just for the heck of it, id add elevator music. Lol. Or Pursuit of Happines by Kid Cudi. Thats what i listen to when i see this. Haha

  • @realjusuR be careful with what you wish for... they could add Soundscape o.O

  • @realjusuR

I would actually recommend Drowing Pools "Let the bodies hit the floor". I think that would capture the mood of this video perfectly.
