  • Yes, it's still samba guys. The ballroom version? The music isn't as strict, but the movement is, and is also more low key. I do samba (not this ballroom crap...) so I understand the frustration. ^.^

....still, the whole "this ain't samba" and "no such thing as ballroom samba" argument is getting OLD. -__-

  • Nice legs :)

  • Hmpf. Bachacata's? Botafogo? Right.

  • Thanks for the video the dancer and the person talking are very good explaining. I am exercising with this video. It is not the real samba from brasil but it is a good workout.

  • Totally agree, neither music or dance are samba, as demonstrated here.

    European academic tripe, more like...

  • @SandrineSoprano have you ever in your life heard about ballroom?well, this is samba, but BALLROOM.why is it so hard to understand????

  • @adriana209b Fair enough, you are a consumed pro. Take care.

  • @SandrineSoprano the cowbell sound is the only part of the music that is samba, the rest is bs!! and ur right, there is no such thing as "ballroom" samba

  • what is the first move called?

  • Sweetness! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for posting this! WOOOOHOOO!

  • The gitar is Spanish gitar, not samba!

  • Comment removed

  • Really? (lol). Spanish guitar refers to a type of Spanish music also known as flamenco. It has nothing to do with samba. The harmony also makes the samba (a mix of old Portuguese folklore with some jazz chords, and other afro kinds of music such as reggea). An old Portuguese instrument is usually used in samba bands: the cavaco (ukulele in Hawaii).

By pretending that this kind of music is samba, is just like saying that "the Irish traditionally sing Bavarian songs" he he he

  • wait i dont think we were talking about the same thing... i was talking about the count 1a2... its what makes the samba the dance it is... i wasn't refering to the instruments

  • @Nonana that is definately NOT what makes samba, samba

  • The rhythm is also not samba.

  • yes it is .... The rhythm is still 1a2... its international samba NOT Brazilian samba

  • wel then international samba sucks the music at least

everytime i wqatch dancing with the stars and

SYTCD they talk about dancing "samba" me being southamericani get excited then disapointed to hear that he musi their dancing to does not sound like the samba know..

  • @Diao7 because this is definately not samba....i get disapointed too
