  • Que bueno es esta entrevista, gracias.

  • est´hombre´stonto

  • this is all great stuff but this insightful and wise information won't change anything. people are fucking stupid and will get what's coming to them. the end of humanity is nigh. for example: this video= 2,772 views. lady gaga performs 'telephone'= 107,670,311 views. there it is, my point vindicated.

  • @dharmashooter when you write "people" are you referring to you also?

  • @Burdell22000 No, I'm talking about the vast bulk of humanity who remain wilfully ignorant.

  • we're fucked!! Mdarkin-u r a knucklehead who does NOT "get it".

  • why are you all so serious here? Isn't technique spelled as technology in this documentary? questioning technique in terms of social science is equivalent to me positing this comment about means I use for commenting. Where is politics in all this chatter? Self-reference: Kojeve :)

  • Kind of ironic that I'm watching this on Youtube via a laptop.

  • @AWESOME90002

not that ironic. There is an active anti-civilization community here (PM if you want to know more about it)

  • 'The Technological Society' completely changed the way I think about industrial civilization. His ideas and writing are a huge inspiration to me. Thanks so much for posting these videos.

  • good stuff

  • Jacques Ellul was one of the wisest men of the 20th century. We ignore him at our peril. Thank you for posting this outstanding video.

  • it is unfortunate that conspiracy theorist on the internet do not read his books...

  • by that i assume you're implying that conspiracies don't exist and all social reality is the result of technique? I would think that the preponderance of technique is the very thing that makes conspiracies flourish. what better thing than technology to help an oligarchy to centralise and augment their power? Haven't you read Brave New World and all the other scientific dictatorship scenarios?

  • It's a pity J Ellul didn't address this issue. Trouble is, good guys don't or can't or won't understand bad guys exist.

  • @debtinterest

    there is an older book that shares the same view on technology as Jacques Ellul;

'The Illusion of Technique' by William Barrett
