something i noticed she doesnt do is pin then cut... she tends to cut then pin... if you pin first it will help make sure the fabric ends match... just a tip my g-ma told me

I have some ball point needles but I've never used them.

I used a size 14 needle on my sewing machine.  I've been using the bag everyday and it has done very well and is durable.
