I dont want to rain on anyone's parade, but this song actually isnt about dark horses. I own the book and it has a description of each song and why he wrote it. And the dark horse he is referring to is actually the piano which makes sense because pianos are black as well. Im not making this up, david lanz said that himself. But its music so it can be what ever you want it to be. Just wanted to let ya'l know that. btw my favorite song to play

I have a book from David Lanz with this song in it, and he gave a description of each of his songs. The Dark Horse in this song is his piano. He said in the description that the dark horse to mean to who people overcoming fears with a companion (dark horse) and his dark horse is his piano up on the stage. :]

@ctm928 I played it almost three times a day for a week; that was enough to screw me up permanently because my technique was bad. Just be sure to move your left arm A LOT when you play; it may look silly, but it will spare you a lot of pain in the long run. :P

oh that reminded me of midnight memory. nearly broke my heart to see that vision of him in my head again i almost wanted to cry he was the most beautiful stallion i ever laid my eyes on and i will never forget him. i saw him at a round up a few years ago and the way he stood by that small hill and gazed at me was like magic though he stood far away i knew in my heart it was me he was looking at.

This is a New Age song, it's not complicated at all. Of course it's composed by a "professional", they're called composers- (Beethoven and Rachmaninov? Kids play their pieces all the time)

Yes, she played the piece in full. One hand melody? That's absurd. And whether or not an adult can play it depends on their abilities and experience, not on age.
