Estonian is form the non-indo-european Finnish-Hungarian language group.

Estonians are more Germanic than Finnish-Hunarian by blood. Many Germans, Swedes and Danes lived in Estonia and ruled the country, so many of them assimilated with the autochton population.

Actually we are germanic by blood, the thing is that we belong to finnish-hungarian LANGUAGE, but we still look alot same to nordic and german people... all the nose, blue eyes, a lil lighter hair... that's all what estonian is :)!

That was because of the venekirveste culture (sorry, can't translate it) who came here after the finno-ugric peoples and gave us their own looks. Most likely they were not German.

There is also a new theory that Estonians (Finno-Ugric tribes) didn't originally come from the East but from the West and were not Asian but white. This theory still needs more proofs however.

You both are right in your own ways, but i'd have to agree with ahmirs16 in some points. Yes, most of violent comes from russians, but that doesn't mean that all russians are bad. No way, i knew some really good, warm-hearted russians. We can't blame only them, i think that there are bad poeple in every single nation. Nord-Südgefälle :) Je weiter du in den ärmlicheren Süden kommst, desto billiger wird es. Dort wo sich kaum Touristen verirren trifft man auf das echte Estland. Tallinn ist eh mehr russich ;)

My estonian wife an di were there last Winter at a small farmhouse. It was very cold - damn lot of snow. But i was really impressed. >There was not one noise out in the nature - great for relaxing. It was near Pölva - South Estonia

Maybe I'll try Estonia in winter some time (although I'm not fond of the cold and the dark). We've been in Tartu also. Loved the place. We stayed there in an apartement at Kreuzwaldi 2.

the climate varies pretty much from one extreme to another throughout the year, in summer it rises up to +30c and in winter it may fall down to even -30c but usually it's around -10...-20c
