Astonishing vocal by Steve Martin, and he makes it seem so effortless--that's how great he really was. Even with the overly dry, out-of-balance audio mix of a 60s television show, his performance shines through like a rainbow. What TV show was this from? This is a true rarity, undoubtedly.

@surefirewin I just listened to the (live) vocals again. I don't know how you can say

the group "sucks live" first of all, Steve's lead vocal is incredible....He's also singing without vibrato, do you know how difficult that is?

His pitch is perfect, I think you're a person that doesn't know what they're talking about.

Ok .. Iv'e never heard this band before but obviously they SUCK live. His voice was EVERYWHERE and had no tempo. He is not a good live singer. But good instrumental though.

@funkadelphiarecords I love Oldie's music. All-kinds. And maybe this band is good. But you have to be honest that this sounds horrible live. When they wen high, there voices almost cracked. I don't hate the band, just the live performance.

You know, none of us rmember doing this show. I know we did other TV shows. Like Shindig, American Bandstand, Upbeat, Jerry Blavit, Clay Cole and quite a few others.

I also recall some of them were live. I guess they were destroyed. In those days after a year or two, they just cleaned out the library shelves.

@djtomfinn Holy Xmas what a rare find! You and Steve's live vocals are right on. I have been a huge LB fan since I was 16 in 1983 going through a crate of used albums at a yard sale and finding the Walk Away Renee album. I knew that song as a little kid but didn't know the rest, as I played the album front to back I thought how great these other songs are, Love that mid 60's sound. Beatlesque, Zombies

This is without a doubt one of the most talented groups in popular music of the 20th century. I own their albums and find that all of the members possess great, great talent.

This is one of those phenomenon where all the parts come together to make an unmistakable whole.

I can't believe I have the great privilege to be one of the first to comment on this Epic Event.!!..So many have waited (thinking they never would) to see The Left Banke perform Live again!...To see Steve (lead vocal) and Tom (back up vocal/bass) with the rest of the band......Almost leaves me Speechless......Oh how I LOVE THIS BAND!.....
