My only wish is that you'd let the tape play a little longer so I could have heard the audience applaud! This is a beautiful piece, beautifully played-one of my favorites.
I think Twilight actually turned a lot of people on to classical. Like me. I already loved music played by piano but I read the book and looked up debussy and I think his music is beautiful!
Beautifully played! I've always loved Debussy's compositions. They're always so serene and nostalgic...they just make you drift away!
What a shame the film "Twilight" had to ruin it for everybody. I frequently hear people talking about it but they are not true appreciators of classical music.
Either way, it's still a beautiful and timeless piece.
Yeah I understand what you're saying. It's sad when it takes a modern film to expose classical newbies to the genre. Otherwise they'd think it was all Mozart and avoid it.
Absolutely gorgeous playing! I'd LOVE to be able to play like this! "Valse Romantique" is my second favorite Debussy piano piece (sorry, "Danse" (Tarentelle Styrienne) takes the cake...) but you do this piece its due justice and so much more! Really brilliant! Thanks!
I'd have to say, "En Bateau" is just beautiful, "Nocturne" has a strong adventurous feeling that juxtaposes a light happier feeling. I love them all, but "Reflections on the water" is the masterpiece imo. This text box wouldn't be large enough to explain why. The next one would be his 11th etude for arpeggios. Man, there's just so many. It seems like every one of his pieces has that touch of pleasure and originality that you don't find from most music.
But Debussy was an impressionist composer, don't hold the tempo so rigidly. In cheesey terms i am saying: paint the picture debussy was trying to create, don't just recreate the sound, yah seeee? haha well played though.
Some nice moments. I love the Walter Gieseking at the Alhambra recording. His version is much faster overall and the ending moves very quickly to a grand finale! Keep up the good work.
I'd say for someone who's been playing about 8 years, this is great. I'm also playing this piece right now and I've been playing for 9 years. :) keep up the great work!
i'm at a music college and i just played this piece about an hour ago for an exam! but girl... you kick my butt on some of those parts!!! :) an enjoyable performance! BRAVO!!!
one tip from pianist to pianist, though... it's easy to get nervous or just feel the adrenaline and speed up when you're performing, so make it a point to try and keep it from speeding up. i really liked it and i hope you keep playing!!!! :) :) :)
How many years have you been playing? You sound very good. It didn't sound emotionless to me and I heard the dynamics. Good job. I play (but nothing as good as that) and I enjoyed your recording.
dynamics not there for me...plus this is a very emotional piece and i don't see any...good technique and mechanics...but you play like my older sister (which isn't really a bad thing...a piano performance major at a music conservative) and lack heart. I love this song...truly...but i did not love this recording...play those triplets faster!!!
You play Debussy very beautifully. Each time you play music like this you make life richer and the world a better place. I'm a big fan! Thanks for posting. Encore!!!

Very well played. I'm working on finishing up Debussy's Suite Pour le Piano, thinking about moving on to this piece next.
How long have you played? This is quite an impressive performance.

NEVER MENTION TWILIGHT!!!
but on the bright side, at least some people are being exposed to Debussy's beautiful works.
