  • This is great! I enjoyed it! It's so nice to see spiritual experiences from other deaf. I'm deaf and have been practicing Hinduism for 5 years now. There are a lot of similarities between Buddhism and Hinduism. I love Eastern Philosophies. Would love to connect with more deaf Buddhist and Hindu's.

  • I'm a Buddhist practitioner (Drikung Kagyu) and a student of ASL. I wonder what kind of support/materials Deaf practitioners would like that they don't currently have? It seems like we should work together to bring Dharma to everyone, including the Deaf. I'm interested in your thoughts.

  • as a practicing deaf buddhist for 27 years (since 4 years old and was exposed to the practice by my mother who kept me involved in the activities since then) I am so relieved to see there are other deaf buddhist. I have been searching for other as myself for a while. I would like to connect with people who are like me.

  • I am happy to see a deaf person express how they feel inside and relay to hearing people. I am happy you have inner peace from Zen. Good luck in Life!!

  • I am deaf person and desire to study buddhism for myself with open mind.

  • I am an Educational Interpreter, and we are beginning to study buddhism in my student's class. I am trying to learn signs and vocabulary related to this topic. Anyone have a good resource online for that? Or willing to send me video clips of signed vocabulary??

  • WOW! PAH! I have been a Deaf Buddhist for almost 10 years and it is a rare chance to run into a fellow deaf buddhist. Namaste! We need to form an alliance nationally if there isn't already one. Peace to you all!

  • @tenzindad Are you on facebook?

  • It's amazing! Thank you so much for putting this out there.

  • It's interesting. As a hearing person raised around the Deaf community I have had a similar experience with meditation even tho I can hear. The breeze of the sensei walking by, my service dog shifting positions at my feet, I have been frustrated by these things as distractions. Maybe I need to go on a retreat at the temple. I know they have them, I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.

  • I've been sitting in at a zen temple more often these days, and grew up with the Deaf. It's good to see a Deaf person speaking about their practice.

  • As a deaf Buddhist, I was very delighted to find this on Youtube. Thanks for posting!!!
