i advise people not to buy fridge freezer baan12 , i bought the item in mid june stopped working on the 27 nov in less than 6 month , called the company , they say we have to charge you for the repair even though it s one year waranty , A RIP OFF , they reckon if the temperature goes below 10 degrees you should keep the place warm . i don t think i m able to keep the temperature more than 10 degrees in uk specially this , honnestly this fridge freezer is R U B B I S H , DON T TRUST THEM ,
oh god I've just bought one of these after having an absolute nightmare with a Whirpool fridge!! I hope I'm not going to have another 2 years liek I've just had!! I should have watched this first!!!
i know the problem its the uht milk in the fridge if you have full cream milk your fridge will start working again and you will have to find somthing else to do.
Hi i have the same problem mine has now broken down for the third time in 2 years . The first time it broke down it was only six months old. I spoke to customer service several times last week and to be honest they dont give a monkeys. I intend to place a video on you tube with my clothes inside, as a wardrobe is about all its good for . wont be purchasing any product with hotpoint/indesit on it again
I wish I had seen your video before we bought our Hotpoint fride freezer last June. It completely failed after 5 weeks and has just failed again and we have waited 24 days to have it repaired. I have had exactly the same experience with their customer services - totally ineffectual and know their legal rights tot the letter and stand by them. I will never ever buy hotpoint/indesit again and beg anyone reading this to do the same.
ive just lost my job at hotpoint as it closed down today! but the reason your fridge is faulty is because no one really cared for quality when it was built! they only cared about quantity! if you saw how they was built you would probably have second thoughts about buying one hahaha! being honest they are built like crap
I'm so sorry to hear your news. Your admittance that the company builds inferior goods is not news to me and the others who have contacted me with similar stories. The only consolation I can offer you is that my fridge was not built in the UK, but Poland.
All we can do is give people the facts, and they can vote by taking their custom elsewhere.
Perhaps before the company goes bust the Italian shareholders and owners will admit that poor quality does not make a good business.
so it's not just INDESIT washing machines and dryers breaking within 18 months. i also dread now that the new series of hotpoints will be breaking just as fast as indesit now. hotpoint appliences were reasonably built before indesit bought the name a few years ago. i have a hotpoint washer. (and vids o it so click on me). it's nearly 2 years old, and i think it's because it's a december 2006 model, it's lasted this long,(just before indesit bought them in early 2007). still, idon't reley on it.
I have this same fridge and exactly the same problem has occurred. Well done for doing the video, hopefully other people will come out of the woodwork too.
Mine is a BAN12NF and was bought about 2 years ago. I notice that a few other people have had the same problem. I found this video and other posts by googling "Indesit" "Fridge" and "clicking".
Is this fault endemic with this product? No doubt Indesit will remain silent.
After a letter from the customer service director stating "it's £100 to fix or you're on your own" I decided to buy the part retail for a third of what Indesit wanted to charge me. It took 5 minutes to fix and I didn't have to pay Indesit a penny in excessive service charges.
Their current advertising says they are Future Friendly. NONSENSE is what I say. Environmentally unfriendly, unreliable and overpriced service is my view.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE and buy a more reliable product.
I've served notice to the Indesit's press office and service director that if I don't have resolution today I will be publishing a press release on the durability of their goods.
I nearly bought a 2nd Indesit fridge on ebay that had broken down within 1 year JUST TO SMASH IT UP, but that wouldn't be very environmentally friendly would it.
Just like Indesit who make products that have a "15-year life cycle" but last less than 2.
Carol from customer services manager then rang me. She informed me that while they advertise the product life as having a full 15 years life cycle, that doesn't mean that I should expect it to work fault free without a service.
So take that to mean "If it fails after 1 year you are expected to pay about half of the price of the product just to get a 2nd years use out of it". So factor that into your buying decisions.
The engineer came today. As their customer service manager had not authorised a free repair he had to ring her. It was quite funny to watch him listen to greensleeves for a good 10 minutes on an 0870 number. After he spoke to her she hung up and he gave me 2 options 1) PAY £75 now or 2) fix it and they would put me down as a non paying customer. No doubt send the heavies / debt collectors too ! I declined, so he left WITH THE SPARE PART IN HIS HAND that I offered to buy from him.
This pile of junk is now driving me mad. It cuts out 3 times a day & food spoils. I have to wait another 4 days before they come back with the part. If he gets it working it will have been 20 days to fix it. And they'll want £99 off me too ! Indesit says a fridge has a 15 year lifecycle these days. I'd be pleased if my one saw it's 2nd birthday ! I've also been waiting for 10 days for the indesit customer service manager to call me back. All I can say is DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY !

Well after 1 month of trouble free use, it now has a new clanking noise. I suspect the compressor or fan is now on it's way out.
This product, and the attitude from the company (customer service director no less)with regards to after sales service is RUBBISH IN MY VIEW.
DO NOT EVER EVER buy a product from Indesit/ Hotpoint/ Creda / Merloni THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND THEY DO NOT CARE AFTER THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY !

Indesit mission statement is 'We work, you play' should this not read -'We don't work, you Pay!' Buy Samsung - quality Korean fridges

I then asked to buy the part that costs them £23 but she refused to sell it to me. She will call me back with a price.
She rang back and said the price including delivery was not £23 but £69.99
I then refused to pay £69.99 for just the part -- I can buy it for £30 on the internet.
She then offered a final price to supply the part and fit it - £50
Guess what ? I refused.
THIS IS NOW NOT ABOUT THE PRICE IT IS ABOUT THESE GUYS TRYING TO RIP OFF EVEN THE MOST DETERMINED LOYAL CUSTOMER

It has now taken 20 days waiting for them to send an engineer with the part. What a pathetic response.
In the meantime it has cut out 17 times. Every time, I risk losing all the food.
They have cut their price for a service from £99 to £75 but it's still wrong.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX A PRODUCT LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD ? I WOULD RATHER SMASH IT UP THAN PAY THEM A PENNY !
