I've been trying to research the dyson because of it's versatility on different floor surfaces. Comparing on hardwood or other hard surface floors would have been really helpful. Any recommendations for something that can be used on both rug and hardwood (AND really works)?
Girlfriend has the DC35, and I can verify that it is as bad as the video shows. I am starting to form the opinion that the Dyson brand has become nothing but overpriced underperforming products.
Going to pick up the Hoover Linx and give it a try.
I sense a strong bias against Dyson in the video. I would've liked to see the tester: * Turn on DC35's "Max" setting before vacuuming the sand. * Empty DC35's bin before vacuuming the pet hair and edge. The DC35 design is not meant to pick up that much dirt in one shot. * Test all 4 to see how well they vacuum stairs, under low-profile furnitures, gaps, ceiling fans, crown molding and car interior.
@Audrey604BC This is a comparison of STICK VACs. The Dyson performs poorly as a stick vac. No one wants to empty the basket of a stick vac every minute. This comparison has nothing to do with handvacs He is not saying that Dyson is a poor handvac. I have a Dyson handvac and other than the battery being a bit loose, it is a great handvac. I'm looking for a stick vac. Definitely won't buy Dyson for that. They do not have an adequate stick vac.
Nicely done comparison of stick vacs. It would appear that if you want all the sand to be removed from your carpets, you need something more powerful than a stick vac. When you consider the price difference, although the hoover performed best, the Eureka offered a good value, wouldn't you agree?
In some ways the Dyson 35 is the orange among all the apples you compared here. Although the Dyson 35 and Hoover are both cordless, they are very different in that the Dyson 35 is a handvac with a pole and it comes with other attachments to get into small spaces. Hoover is not a hand-vac. Dyson is overpriced though but for the weight/size of the DC35 you can't expect miracles.
@musiKJammm Hello, thanks for watching and commenting our video. Actually the other two vacuums, the Eureka 96H, and the Oreck AV-701B are in fact stick vacuum, hand vacuum combo's, just like the Dyson DC35. All claim to be stick vacuums on their marketing, and retail packaging, in addition to claiming use of carpeting. But your are correct the Hoover is not a hand vacuum, but still is a stick vacuum. So maybe the Hoover would be the orange, as all the others are hand vac / stick vac combos
Not to be rude but you missed the purpose of a stick vacuum. A stick vac is for quick clean ups not mounds of pet hair. Sorry but you need to redo this one.
do an upright test dyson vs hoover whatever anything against dyson 3 vacs vs dyson :D try a dc28 or dc17it will groom and get the dirt off good please!!!

when is the upright bagless test coming?

I think you are trying to push the hoover vac, you steped away after the sand and by doing so you blew your whole comparison.
