I just finished this and while it's super cute, it is H U G E! I used the same needle size as you and did all the counts right, but you would have to have a pumpkin head to fit this. I'm not sure what I did wrong, the stitches are nice and tight... :(

Being a visual learner, these videos are GREAT!!! I made my first crocheted hat slowly playing the video and doing step by step with you. This will be my first time making this and I'm making it for a 5yr old child, I'm on row 15 on the red part of the hat, which row would I have to unravel back to, to make it fit more of a 20" head circumference? Im on row 17 & my hat is still relatively flat?? Ive counted & recounted- Im using H5mm hook & 4ply yarn not sure if its supposed to still look this way but dont think so any suggestions?

@Deannam62 The sides probably should be forming at this time. If you have around 84 stitches, keep working and the sides will have to form as long as you are not increasing. You will find the link to the written instructions in the video details below the video. You can compare the rounds to the round you are on and have an idea how many stitches are in each round.
