  • Hey petrolhead1980. Still going strong ... In fact it's louder now as I have fitted an electronic exhaust bypass so I can either use the legal SS exhaust system or blow it out the side with nothing but a short pipe. Awesome. Coupled with the dinosaur roar of the supercharger intake when you floor it (especially in a tunnel) it still scares me and I know it's coming. Love it.

  • john davis used the dakar as a base and made some subtle changes and claimed it as his own. Don't sue me john but I got the info from a very good source

  • G'day, this used to be mine and my dads car! Great to see it online still! I miss driving it round Sydney. I have never been in or seen a car that got more looks than this. Is she still going strong? I used to love the sound the Eaton blower made when you gave it a squirt off the lights and the blower would make a big yelp before it suddenly launched the car forward. I still think it was also the LOUDEST car ive been in too!!

  • @Vertuas1 ... Definitely not a kit, although the body is based on a Dakar body.

  • That look suspiciously like the Dakar, which is a kit available in the UK, to build on the Landrover 100 inch chassis.

  • They are not kits. John Davis Motor Works in Sydney built about 28-30 of them in the late 90's. Most of them have been adapted as serious rock crawler and mud bashers. One very similar to this is owned by James Packer and kept at Ellerston - his polo retreat in NSW.

  • can you still buy the kits?
