We had glow in the dark props during this song-3 when I was in seussical, everyone painted a fish and the tub was glow in the dark... It was amazing-3
I play the cat in my show (Seussical Jr.) and I was ad because I thought it was a boy part. But your show was amazing and so was your cat, and she was a girl, so thank you for making feel a lot better!
@AmytheGuardie12 Actually, I've been in three musicals where I got a role of speaking only which is what I prefer. Just because it is a musical does not mean every character sings
I'm doing this play in march and I'm jojo, so if anyone wants you can go to St. Benedict school in leduc or go to the front doors on the 17th and whatch me... in leduc at the mclab
Mcgeligets pools is the best song in this whole play, i really enjoyed being in my local production. Good performance interesting take u guys did on it i dont really know if i lake the whole modern feel i think i like it more cartoon or suessish
The play was great, but the settings were very boring and plain. I know you did't have much to work with but still it the same background through the whole thing don't help me to see the jungle or whatever. The play lively, the settings lifeless.
@miarowson I see your point, but I think the scaffolding is an interesting choice. I actually prefer the minimal set pieces, just because this show is all about using your imagination, and that is exactly what I do when seeing this. Sets aren't important in telling a story..great actors can do that all by themselves.
I'm kinda sad all the harmonies are gone, but I understand why your production didn't do them. They're hard! My college level production is having trouble. Good job though! I love how you did the costumes. Very cute and clever.
@ kaiser high skool, where im going, im trying out for my skools production of suessical, this really help to give me a different perspective on how to present it.
you guys must have a whole different script! Our lyrics for this is "but here on who we live infear, we're drifting throught space and cannot steer, a troubled and a tiny land, our future's in your hands. Wait, did you perform seussical the musical jr.?
The whole point of Seussical is for it to be colorful and imaginative, JUST LIKE IN THE BOOKS. Doing an "interpretation" like this isn't new or innovative, it's just lazy.
Well, I'd say that being able to take Seussical and perform it in such a unique way makes it pretty imaginative, and unless you're colorblind, it's obvious that our costumes, props, and background are all brimming with many colors. I agree that shows need to stay true to thier original counterparts, but don't come accusing us of being lazy with your bigoted comments just because you don't agree with our performance. We worked hard on this and are in no way lazy.
I'm just saying that putting an unpainted tote in the middle of the stage and saying "it's a bathroom" is not my idea of a good set. At my school, all we have is a dance room, no theatre. When we did Seussical, we built the stage, six platforms, 12 Seuss book flats, a moving nest platform, and a double sided "Who House." We rehearsed for two months, meeting for three hours three times a week. If this is the only theater program at your high school, I fell sorry for the underprivileged students.
We have a realatively new school without a lot of funds in the theatre department, so we did the best we could with what we had. We WERE going to use giant books instead of the flats, but we ran out of time. There was acually supposed to be a shower curtain that would be pulled around to reveal Jojo, but again, we ran out of time. I'm glad that you were able to do more with your scenery, but that doesn't give you the right to sit there and bash us. Take your hate comments elsewhere.
don't listen to them, we are doing this musical this year....and everynight i'm watching your guys producation to help me learn the musical and my part...
you are a bunch of talented people, and i hope ours is half as good as yours =)
This is an amazing performance of Seussical, and probably the most colourful and professional interpretation I've seen. In a tiny amount of rehearsal time, this is in no way lazy.
Maybe they had their own way of doing it, it was actually pretty bright they just didn't have platforms and stuff. Everyone has their own vision for their set. I like this version no matter how much you don't like the set. My set at my school is SO awesome! I love it! I wish i could take a picture of it! Maybe i will and post a picture but I can't send the play because we aren't allowed to
I'm auditioning for this tomorow, and very much enjoying munchin' some popcorn and getting aquainted with the show. Thanks for posting! And thanks for how easy you make it to get from part to part.
whos are supposed to only wear yellow and orange, oh and by the way the hortans pretty good. But are settings alittle bit better. And are cast is a way better
