I absolutely LOVE mother music - but i have to say this is pretty poor in my opinion. Not to say people can't like it :P It's just not for me. It sounds too clumsy - and almost sleazy. Looses the innocence of the original games.

I don't think its so much the audience, but the huge number of homages that Mother has. Seeing that the frankie boss fight music is an homage to Chuck Berry's Johnny be good, not to mention the Tonzura Brothers being based on the blues brothers, and knowing how unappreciative some artists are in this country (not to mention how stingy copyright laws are in the US). In japan you can get away with it by just saying your game is not based on anyone or anything, but here it's another story. =/
