I do like Anthony Hopkins as Lector, but don't like Ed Norton's Will Graham...if you ever the read, Red Dragon, you can actually see Will Petersen as Will Graham...
Got to say, I prefer Brian Cox's Lecter. He's a severely under-rated actor, masterfully giving Lecter charisma, but not stooping to camp or scenery chewing. A man who deserves a lot more recogntion than he currently has.
Awesome scene......you know He is still in his head. Ive read all of John Doulglas' books on profiling and this by far is the best movie ever made portraying one. Michael mann is a genius and William Peterson rawx.
Yeah, but Rob "Cocksucker" Zombie's films get " Horror Films of the decade," nods. It absolutely pathetic how horrible the horror genre is these days.
This is an overlooked but superior thriller, one of the best films from the 1980s.
There are no over-the-top performances and no unnecessary gore shown,
I think Brian Cox's performance is simply brilliant, his Hannibal is a most intelligent and frightening one, superior to Anthony Hopkins' campy portrayal of Hannibal in the other versions.
@5eurocups2005 You're absolutely right, I also think that Will Graham is a much more interesting character than Clarice Sterling. All in all loved this movie, one of my all time faves.
Watched it in 1992 when I was in the German military!! They played it in the casino, and I could barely understand the dialogue because of the noise around me - never heard of the movie before, although I love movies!! It`s a shame that one was so underrated!!! It`s a masterpiece!!

@5eurocups2005 not to mention that every single shot is worthy of being an epic piece of photography... the composition in this flick is AMAZING.

Michael Mann is so underrated. Has he ever made a bad film? Ever? Mohicans is my favorite; he's the master of the wide shot, that's for sure.
