That is so cool. I'd not thought of using assessment as a motivator. My students try to skip class if they know there will be a test.
I'm gonna try that. I love it. It seems it would go well with differentiated instructions, I'm learning about that now, because I went from a two level class to a multilevel class (1-6) and It is driving me crazy to come up with lessons that don't bore the advance, or scare the beginners. I am going to make a "show me what you know book" based on the levels!
They should stop saying 'good' when they should be saying 'well.'
