The reason why the monsters looks so random in SH3 is because they were drawn by alessa when she was a child, Heather talks about this down at the church in alessa's room, this is what she says: "The scribbling on the floor here is Alessa's. For some reason, she always drew monsters like this when she was alone. She used to draw with Claudia, too. A nice daddy and mommy and a fun school... A happy world where everyone smiled and laughed all day long. In short, everything we never had..."

cyborcat, im sure you already know, but silent hill shattered memories was a complete and utter pile of dog shit. out of all the games in the series to re-make/imagine they picked the 1st one. such potential was wasted. and climax yet again show how uncreative, and incompetent they are to produce a decent silent hill game, origins was awful aswell, they even used the prototype engine of origins to make this shit thats out in the stores today. we need team silent back. at least for one more game.

@Cyborcat trust me silent hills gameplay is just right for a horror game, like many i tend to believe that the controls and camera were shitty back then but someday i realized that exactly these were part of the reason why the game was so scary, it makes u very weak and the game unpredictability and more scarry in homecoming for example you can fight like rambo make a roll and aim better sure this is exactly like we always tend to believe controls should be but is it scary?

@Cyborcat I wish that Harry was in the movie because he is such a sweet character. I hate how the director wants to stereotype men and women more. Men can be just as sensitive as women and as loving and dedicated. I've met men who are like that and I'm glad to know that men who are that sweet exist. It's time that they get more shining moments in films. They should be appreciated more often. If Harry was real, I'd marry him. Go Harry Mason! Hehe! ^__^

Hey Cyborcat, I also had a hard time figuring out the closers, but they seem to be a reference to a mother. Think of a mother reaching out for a kid, from their perspective, the mothers arms are long and larger compared to the rest of the mothers body. This explains why the closer is also so large. The closer is evidently female. Does this theory seem likely to you?

only one type of enemy, based on your choices the enemy changes.

you run away from the enemys to win.

has 2 modes snow and ice

in snow you solve puzzles and find ghosts, in ice you run like hell to your next destination solving puzzles along the way.

the game switches between these 2 modes from SH2 depressing to SH3 scary as hell.

according to silent hill wikia The Closer is a manifestation of Alessa Gillespie's memories of her mother's abuse, hence the enlarged arms. Its name is derived from its ability to obstruct a path with its huge body. The Closer is similar to one of the monsters Alessa used to draw when she was young. It is speculated by most that its appearance is similar to that of the Mandarin from Silent Hill 2.

yanno what though, i was quite satisfied with the nurses in this game. they looked like better versions of the ones from the orginal, minus the parasite thing on their back of course. this game was the last which involved alessa (which has really interested me since i played the first one) silent hill 2 was so fuckin great aswell (again with a facinating plot). silent hill 4 would of been better if they kept same sort of gameplay that 1-3 had, but besides that i was entertained by it.

This vid made me curious, about all the aspects, why you are not a fan of it.

Honestly I think that's pretty good adaptions to the game, if we compare to the other movies based on games. I especially like how they carried atmosphere and used camera angles which brought some pleasant memories.

The biggest problem they had that they had to fit in movie length time. When game can take up to 9 hours game play, movie can't afford it.

Closer -- This creature symbolizes motherhood . Its large height, female figure, and vagina-like opening for a face all apply to this and Heather's unknown pregnancy. On top of that, its face rotates. This is a recurring element in design that refers to the life/death cycle Alessa has undergone. (Remember the fans?)

SH4's gameplay can be alright if you're willing to sit through it. I quite agree about Origins though. You can't really dig anything good out of the enemies.

Also Storywise, I point in Homecoming's direction. Random enemies from old games, the main character is a robot and his parents are tools. So ye, I'd prefer Origins story over Homecoming anyday.

Also I've had numbbodys scare the shit out of me quite a few times, I wouldn't call them least scariest. At least not in the series.
