I am sorry but Bob Dylan voice is not listenable here...and this is coming from someone who has his CDs...guitar playing was good, i wonder what if Mark had sang instead...
Dylan should probably have stopped doing live shows a few years ago.. Now he will be remembered as the old mumblin fellow with the amazingly written songs, instead of the powerfull man with the emotional voice and amazingly written songs! Thats just my 2 cents but there probably are plenty of people who think he still sounds good, because they are blinded by their adoration of the man..
I think In speak for legions of people when I say I'm glad Bob Dylan is still touring. I hope someday that I'm privileged and get to to see the master songwriter/poet/folk/rock/country/whatever genius perform his songs live. I don't care if his voice is torn and frayed - he still sounds wonderful to me...
@annazakiya ...like poor Mark Knopfler NEVER TOOK DRUGS! LOL. Knopfler and all the other guitar greats love to play with Bob (and might even share a joint or two with him before and after the show)
guitar playing of dylan is energetic and fantastic..if we didn t know knopfler and dylan we would say that dylan is more known at playing the guitar than knopfler...he is embarrassing him a bit
I have admired Bobs poetry and many performances...since the 60's...But I would not pay to see this...it aint any kind of singing..talking with a growl maybe...hell he can hardly speak!
I also would not pay to Ali fight....whats the difference??
I love your grainy voice, your mad vocal phrasing, your out of time guitar playing, your funky shirt, your grimaces, your stagecraft, your soul. your heart and your mind. I will always be forever grateful that I have been on this planet to enjoy your work that has made me laugh and cry since '62. If you ever want to put out an album of your snoring sounds, please do so. I will buy it with pride, and it will still be better than nearly everyone else's puny efforts !! Bless you!!
This is true punk rock !! No rules , play it how you like, not to please anyone but yourself and for your music to reflect your mood on any given day. Long may Bob go on confounding and upsetting his so called fans who only want to hear the songs like 'there meant to sound '
@stockmack I feel sorry for you stock-y- you just dont know what it is- cuss/swear, and hate all you want.. you are surely 'dying' too. Maybe play your LP's -yes stay home!--if you insist on the original versions.. Dylan has moved on. Why dont you! I am pleased/ thrilled to see him sing the old songs AT ALL.. and some of this tour was BEST IN DECADES (duh)
How dare You!!! Had you have been a true Dylanite, going way back you would understand that as we age we lose certain things, the voice being one of them! This man is the only genius of the past century. He will go down with all the great poets........
Dylans' writing is the stuff of legends. His singing and attitude- not so much. He believes too much of his own press. It would be far better for him to collect the royalties, and retreat and allow his fans to remember what was, and not what is. This only serves to illustrate the difference between Knopfler- who is still at the top of his game, and Dylan, who is not.
Thank you very much for this very super clip. I was in his concert in Mannheim /Germany and there I had a place on the left side from the stage. I could`nt see Bob sing and play good from this place. Only his backside. But it was a grandios concert!
Bobs band play excellent on this tour. Charlie Sexton is doing his best! And its always a pleasure to see Tony Garnier. Bobs voice... When you listen to him and see his dear face, it seems to be home after a long hard road.
Bob is someone much more disciplined as a writer and poet. .... an absolute genius. Purely awesome singer, but say that musically, it's more basic. The music is just a vehicle for his poetry. "
Dylan must have a cold - other videos from around now - his voice isn't quite this bad. I've never disliked Bob Dylan's voice and always have heard charm in even his worst vocal performances - even this one. It really does almost hurt to listen to it though, it sounds like he's been gargling razor blades. His vocal cords are covered in sandpaper.
"Bob est quelqu'un de beaucoup plus discipliné en tant qu'auteur et poète. C'est un génie absolu. Un chanteur purement génial; Mais disons que musicalement, c'est plus basique. La musique est juste un véhicule pour sa poésie."

@stockmack maan, dylan's been changing the melody of the songs since 1966. you cant expect him to sing and play like a jukebox. his true nature is change itself. i understand if you dont enjoy the music. but you cant ask for something he never done. even when recording, dylan changed the songs from take to take.
I saw both Mark and Bob live at Breahead Arena on October 9th. I'm in my early teenage years. And yes, the reason I wanted to go was to go and see Mark Knopfler. I was just as eager to see Bob Dylan too, because he is such a legend. I felt honoured to have been in Bob's presence, despite of the fact that I got him on a 'bad night' (I'd been warned about it). I wish that I was at the concert to have seen the two perform together... It's great to see them so able to perform at their ages!
@TheChrishoughton Yes, Bob is possibly the greatest songwriter who ever lived. I'm not sure however, we should thank anyone that he chooses to carry on.
Jesus! I'm a huge early dylan fan and I've really avoided his later stuff for this reason, but seriously, I can't be quiet any longer. HE SOUNDS LIKE COOKIE MONSTER!!!! Close your eyes at 1:25... I dare you.
Sorry to read that...I confess that was my fantasy as I bought the ticket. "Infidels" is one of my fav Bob´s albums! (The other fantasy was "Tunnel of love" with Bob making the keyboard intro.. :-) )
Anyway, thanks for uploading! Bob sounds fit, charming and in a good mood! Looking forward to Innsbruck(my 14th Bob gig).

I avoided Bob's concerts for many years - you know you don't get to hear what's on the albums..
But, he's a genius , and they're his songs, and I figure he can do what he wants, so last time I did go and pay homage to him. Enjoyed it !

Everything Dylan does is deliberate
I saw him in Australia a long time ago in Australia when he toured with Tom Petty.
He placed a Yamaha DX7 in the middle of the stage and tried to play it - lol
Love his song writing - even his voice suited the songs when they were recorded
But live he was crap - if it wasnt for TOm Petty it would have been a wasted evening
