ClubHertzog, I agree, Marching Bands are only there to support the football team and promote school spirit. No one in the stands are there to see the marching band but they have to pump up the home crowd and they have to have fun =) I know.. I am a freshman here at Cal this year, but I was in Marching Band in High School for 4 yrs. I was in the colorguard actually. I didn't join the Marching Band this yr here at Cal but I defintly am next yr. I can't wait. I miss Marching Band soo much.

It was also raining in this video, and the entire show wasn't played. You have to remember the effect that has on the performance.

OH YEAH.......IUP's halftime program was about as entertaining as watching a funeral. OH....and the Christmas songs are really a hit with the IUP faithful. Your band is going in the same direction as your football program. TALK ABOUT SUCK! LOL!!!

I would take watching a funeral over this show any day. I must admit though, the hammed up trumpet solo and the incredibly terrible intonation of the hornline make this pretty much horrible. Not to mention that half of your band isn't in step and out of those of you who are, half of you are phasing in and out of time. You're right though, this band is probably better than IUP.....

I never said CALU's band was better than IUP. No CALU band member is a music major - just there having fun w/music and performing. Certainly not a showband, but entertaining nonetheless and supporting the football team. IUP's is full of music majors, but since Dr Casavant is gone, the IUP Band is no way what it once was, sadly. Not the kids' fault.

Who cares who's better? I'm a sophomore in high school and plan to attend CAL U. I enjoy BOTH bands. People such as yourself take the fun out of it. Its for fun and to support the team, not a competition.

Why do the kids from IUP always start shit online... WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. WE ARE NOT A MUSIC PROGRAM... The cal u marching program is there to support our football team and promote school spirit like a college band should. Not bore the fans of athletic teams b/c face it the people aren't in the stands to see a marching band.
