  • Fantastic !

  • @tehtube great tone you got there. Do you prefer Leslie's coming from one location or two? Just curious because I used to play an A100 with a Leslie 122, but the Leslie often got on my nerves because of the single location of the sound. In fact the horn often got on my nerves because it was right next to my head. I now play the electronic theater organ more and have an imbalance issue with my Thomas Palace's internal Leslie be completely on the left. My Wurlitzer 4500's Spectratone has top slots

  • Fantastic. I am looking at doing this one but, after watching you, I think I need lessons LOL

  • awesome

  • You have a Hammond A102 and a hammond model A?

  • very nice!

  • Hi Man, Dante Star here. I enjoy your funky version of Hush and congrats on all the hits you have gotten on youtube. Since you like the song, maybe you would enjoy my version as well. I just put it on utube. Search dantestar7 hush.

    I am using a 1953 B2 that i converted to a B3 a couple months back.

    best wishes.

    dante

  • Hi. I saw your version of Hush, excellent! :-)

  • This is the real deal. A tweaked out vintage organ with pieces from here and there. You cannot reproduce this sound by using any computer or software.

  • very nice! and do i hear the kabouter plop tune drom 2.02 to 2.06?

  • your playing is, like your nature, very neat, clean, and technical. very nice, and the rig sounds great. i could use some work on my '64 living room queen B3 and 22H. ;-)

  • Man, you're a really good hammond player and you have an AWESOME gear! damn, I whish I had a B3 and a Leslie :\ maybe one day :D

Anyway: your settings don't fit Deep Purple's sound well, in my opinion, the sound you have in this video is really good to play Soul/Funky Jazz like Jimmy McGriff, but not Purple.

Go 888000000 and crank that thing!!!

  • sorry, I meant 888800000.

  • how much work did u put in that organ it sounded awsome

  • Many many hours. The Model A and B3 are very different but looks like similar.

Remain the cabinet, key contacts, wire harness, TG only. Please look my attached pictures in link.

Changed the keys from sharp edge waterfall to smooth waterfall, TG recalibrated, recapped, black plate with smooth drawbars, tabs, matching transformer, preamp....

  • sweet sound!

  • All I can say is I been playing in rock bands for decades and I need you in my band! You are awesome! Love the growl of the B-3 God Bless you man!

  • Great playing!!!

  • The B3 in all it's glory. If that don't make you happy, nuthin' will.

And now that I know the secret drawbar settings I can do it too! Ummm maybe not....

  • Fun!

    Gave you all the stars.

    dante

  • Just to add.... the part from 1:28 to 1:36 is... awesome. Well done.

  • Damn. I forgot to breathe.

Never thought I'd find a piece in which I would really like that distorted sound. Very nice keyboard drumming!

  • hohoh!! you are immense!! and that hammond + leslie combo just reeks of perfection!

    you lucky LUCKY man ^^

  • excellent sound, very good playing, well done!

  • Wow, AWESOME SOUND! Can I ask how you have the drawbars set on the upper manual? I LOVE that sound man!

  • 888 000 008 :-)

  • Thanks!

  • WOW!

  • Man, now that was smokin'.

  • Mean!

  • niiiiicee!!!

  • Man, you play with balls! :)

  • F'ing awesome man. Those dual Leslies are some mean *hit.

  • expected to laugh but this is very good, awesome sound

  • What a groove and juicy sound. Have heard it 100000000 times. Love it!

  • what an awsome sound!

  • Well done my friend!

  • A twin Leslie tower - that is just greedy ;)

  • Very nicely done! What a great , seminal piece of music that is for a B3 solo jam...

  • Quite some gear there. ^_^ Now ya' need a MIDI compatible keyboard and some software so you can start writing music.

You are very multitalented. I'm jealous, but I know only one of the differences between us is I really don't have a stable life. :-(

  • man I watched this like 15 times and it is sheer genius!!!

  • 3:48 the call of the Hammond beccons ye children!

  • Exelent , reve de gosse, par contre quel et la boite a ryhtme la marque

    merci

     et vraiment EXELENT..........................

  • mint.!

  • Brilliant!God bless you!

  • very nice

    i have enjoyed listening

is the hamond at your home?

    wow

  • wow your good very fucking good.

  • Sweet and very sick Leslie Rig!!! I'm uber jealous

  • excellent

  • Yes, very nice sound! You're very good, man!! :)

  • Dude you rock i wish i knew someone who played that good i would just hang out at their house all day and listen.

  • Wow thanks for keeping the flame alive!!!

  • 'three speed leslie'?

is one of the speeds 'stop'?

...and i agree with another commenter - the leslies must be taking your head off.

it was loud over my comp.

    excellent playing my friend.

  • Yes. Typical earlier tube leslies are one speed (stop/tremolo), later tube leslies 122-147 are two speed (chorale/tremolo) I ipmlanted new motor controllers in these and can chorale/stop/tremolo.

Loud? Loud. Good to me :-)

  • Hey tehtube, you're not only a great player but also very knowledgable about the Hammond and Leslies, how do you change a two speed to have the stop?

  • Hi. I put out the original relay and converted to three speed. In leslie 122 amp built in new panel with two small relay. In organ built in one more small transormator +/-10V. For leslie controlling only free the fifth pin from six. If -10V on pin 5 = chorale, 0V = stop, +10V =tremolo.

The ground are same, the pin 2. Cheers.

  • that's genius!

  • hey how do u put a leslie on a m2 or m3?

  • Add tag &fmt=18 to end of the link, come in higher quality

  • Great chords...search toerpe for another take on this classic song.Great chops ya got there right around 3:01 DT

  • ♫♫♫♫♫

  • five stars for you!!!

  • Dat's a 'Funky Hush'... Nice!

  • Great performance!!

It's also good to see people take good care of and keeping those old gal's in shape.

I wouldn't have guessed on 88 8000 008 but it fits perfectly fine here!

    Keep swinging,

    Rounder

  • This is great.

This is how to make a hammond sing right here.

  • do you ever worry you might go deaf in your left ear? two leslie's must crank like nobodies business, and by stacking them, do you make get enhanced bass response that compensates for the smaller size of the 142?

  • Thanks, i not worry :-)

  • Great job! Want to join my band :)

  • You are one of the best!

  • Love that tone!

  • 5* BROTHER

    JAH BLESS

    :) 2 Lesli nice

i have a one lesli by B3 Organ

    PEACE ALL Time

  • this is a very complicated emotion...

i hate you, but i love you all at the same time

i've never felt like that before!

  • I freaking love it! Why does it sound so good!?

  • Not exactly, but the sound is similar as original '68. (or Richard Groove Holmes) My favourite registration 888 000 008

  • Wow, dude, U R great! Thank you for the post.. Wish I hade half the talent you do

  • It seems like every video of people playing their organs it's a bunch of old rad investment banker looking guys? I love it.

  • I think that tells you that such people don't get much fun out of their jobs, & look elsewhere for fulfilment....and what better way than this!

  • Feel jelous, too ... sniff ... wish I could play like that. Great sound, great leslies, cool play ! Chris

  • that leslie is huge

  • those are two

  • As a fellow life-long Jon Lord wannabe, I was absolutely THRILLED to hear and see this. Fantastic job, when I grow up, I wanna play just like you! A job very well done!

  • This is amazing..every time i listen to it the hairs on the back of my neck stand up !!! Fantastic Sound. Whish I had a Hammond. Best Video on YouTube. Respect to that man.

  • Wow sounds great

  • Dude, I think that this video is one of the best videos here in whole youtube. keep up the good work!!!

  • bloody cool... And really lovely sound!

  • COOL!!!!

    BRAVO!

  • I feel bad for his left ear...with that leslie screamin in it.

  • I'm jealous

  • this rocks! thanks for posting it!

  • great sound....vintageeeeeeee

  • A little Korla Pandit drumming in there. Super great techie! cp

  • Very good. I used to have an L100 organ and 700 series Leslie.

  • Damn....that fat sound just makes me want to cry.

  • This is smokin' hot.

  • Sounds really good tehtube. Had to come back and listen to this again. (Brings back memories) Like your playing skills and style. Keep Swinging!!

  • Bravo, grande hammond b3 very strong music.

  • Congratulations, great sound, great performance!!!

  • sound is good!

  • Unbelievable. You did it better than Lord himself!

  • Mannn, HOW MANY ORGANS/Leslies DO YOU HAVE??? LOL I thought it was an A-100/351, now u on a B-3 with a 145/142 stacked on top of each other lol!!! LOL love the playing dude ~1~

  • Very nicely done!. From one Hammond/Leslie afficianado to another, Major Kudos. there's just something about seeing the shadows from the Leslies that enables you to feel the sound all the more. Nice Footwork on the Pedals. Great Upper Manual Riffs. I'm typically taken aback by Drum machines and the like, however in a setup like yours, it definately works VERY well together.

  • thanks, cheers, Zsolt

  • tehtube, do you know that Rhoda Scott recorded a LP in Hungary?

  • Yes. Rhoda recorded 3 LP-s, and i have 3 complete TV show videos and one complete concert broadast recording from this early seventieth years. Cheers.

  • Do you have her lastest CDs?

  • You've got just enough overdrive comin' outa that leslie stack. Great sounding rig! Keep rockin'!

  • Great playing, great sound. Like your Leslie setup. Would like to have some of you skill.

  • I can´t tell my envy, I love the real Thing Mate, this is Hammond! I love it but have´t been able to affort or get one down here in my country, I get Limited to general Keyboards, I love the sight of the Leslie! you encourage me to try harder

    Cheers!

  • that's so awesome man!

  • Sounds real good.

  • Always liked that song! You put nice energy into your playing and with your skill level that makes the Hammond sound good. Nice Leslies, I might have to get another one sometime and sell my PR-40 Tone Cabinet.

    1936 Hammond eh, very nice!!

  • koooooooooooooooool!!!!!:o

  • Nawauw. Sounds great my friend. I was shortly in the ´70.

Why you have the two 142 not like in Stereo. That have to be more crazy I think. Just between your ears.

  • Sound not same, only similar than original. This is jazz, blues settings. Original 1968 preset is: 888 800 008, 888 000 000, i think.

This overcast leslies easier to me at home. More place. Great live act is different/stereo :-)

  • sound like when im going to my dentist...

  • What u mean by that?

  • Alright! Nice to hear a really old one.

  • That sounded awesome

    Ideal setup definitely

  • Typical settings. Swell:888 000 008, Great:858 000 000, Ped: 72. vib:c3 all.

  • Thanks! It really sounds great. I am very sad because I just can't get so good tone with my Roland VK-8 and Leslie 147. It's ok, but your Hammond is really screamming! Greetings!

  • Very interesting I have to say! Great playing. What are your drawbar settings (upper, lower)? Keep up the good work!
