Yet to see part 1. 80's version will probably never be bettered because the film makers of todays tv just deliver to the money mens expected audience profile.
It had its moments, still too much music, frantic unexplained pacing, soap style relationship bull, and hand held cam work when the scene calls for isolation.
Brian Cox had great prescence but was wasted in this.Did Bill travel to Scotland to find his Dad ? If so, the Triffids crawled a long way over a few hours. Not sure when Pt 2 was set.
ive had PMs basically bitching at me because it wasnt on the TV in america first, and more or less blaming me for it...sad bastards basically needed putting in their place.
In the 1981 adaptation Torrence only turns up briefly in episode 4 & finally in episode 6. Still, I liked Eddie Izzards interpretation, more like the Night of the Triffids version. God help us if THAT is made into a serial!
I was really excited to hear the Wilhelm scream near the end when the asian dude gets dragged away.

i cant see that being made into a serial or a film any time soon, as the location filming alone would cost a shitload of money.
