It's a shame powerful films like this don't get views in the millions. If it was a street fight or nudity people would be all over it. Respect to the Panthers and brother Fred.
@Lookback2C4ward...Exactly...And when people start rising up against the fake gov't and their pig officers and realizing the game being played, then the fake gov't has them killed off or locked up and makes up lies about them....Also like Bill Cooper, Ed and Elaine Brown, Ruby Ridge, Waco....The list goes on and on! They are scared to death we will ALL actually wake up and realize who we really are!!!
What a difference in general between the actvism of the 60's and relative lull in activity today. This video taught me how little I know about Black History. I had no idea of the Proletarian character of the Black Panther movement. I would have no problem voting for a Fred Hampton or a Malcolm X, but I view Obama, as part of the Ruling Class that oppressed Malcolm and Fred Hampton, and oppresses all working people. Long livre, the Black Revolutionaries that died fighting against all oppressi
@determination9995757 Not just the blacks. People have gone through these things throughout his-story! Look at the native American Indians for instance and all the things they went through and are still going through, were the fake gov't would have you believe they all have casinos...lmao...Were all living on stolen land! Their land!!
Rhoman7--I agree that the Chicops, the FBI, and especially Hannrahan the prosecutor were a bunch of murdering animals.
I respected Huey P. Newton's approach to dealing with police harassment--show up with about half a dozen brothers legally armed with shotguns who clear the chambers simultaneously and stand and observe the police as they deal with inner-city residents.
Multiple video cameras could work just as well. Fred was a beautiful brother who left us too soon. I miss him.
I have always respected Fred Hampton and what he wanted to accomplish.
I have always detested the roles of the FBI, Chicops, and Prosecutor Hanrahan in the mnurder of Fred Hampton.
I understand how constant provocation and harassment can lead to something snapping in the minds of activists that leads them to violence of speech, and action.
I still regret and am frustrated that such a charismatic and transformational figure made it so easy for those who wanted to kill him anyway to do so.
@PoetryMan11 he wouldntve made it easy had he not been drugged by an fbi informant the night before. he fell asleep mid sentance while on the phone with his mother and never fully regained consciousness until he was killed
Man, Huey P. was fuckin brilliant. Did you know that he did alot of research on that strategy. He was a former law student and used a law allowing the public carryign of weapons and a law allowing defense against police officers to create the strategy. Fuck any ignorant motherfucka that says they were crazy and radical - Huey found a way to use the oppressor's laws against him. Huey P. and Fred were the two most amazing and underrated political thinkers and ppl of the 60s and of our generation.
The police (with the full support and encouragement of the FBI) murdered Fred.
But Fred wsas the one who chose to be a martyr in waiting. So why should anybody wonder when his wish was granted?
Their rallies sound like the Nazis of the 1920's. "Capitalist pigs" replace "Jews" as the hated oppressors.
Instead of being a dedicated revolutionary, he was just another loudmouthed dumb ass who made it easy for the power structure to take him out.. Very sad and unnecessary.
"Eyes on the Prize" totally misrepresented Fred as this charismatic leader that cops hated because he was doing good for poor inner-city blacks.
But I didn't know that till seeing this Panther documentary with Fred in his own words waving guns and fairly baiting law enforcement to come around so he could "kill those M-F pigs".
Now it is clearer why those thugs with the Chicago police were so confident they could kill him. Both sides were wrong--Fred should have known better.
Kill the pigs only if the pigs provoked and they gave the people a reason to defend themselves. It was never a Panthers style to just go out and cause trouble. Just spread awareness to the community (police in that town included) know that we will defend ourselves.
Killing someone in their sleep is cowardly therefore the police involved in the matter are cowards.
he was a dedicated revolutionary, u stupid fuck look at che would you tell him the same they just weren´t scared to die show some respect u fuckin idiot
This shit just makes you mad. I wish these people could of had a different fate. This was just cold hearted. Covered up by millions of lies...this is what the black panther party was fighting for.
Talk about justice denied. What a shame that shit like this still happens today - just look at the Jena 6. Fred was right, cops that are biased and commit murder, then try to justify it ARE pigs. Peace.
i cant stand the fact we glorify a frank lucas, but the likes of fred hampton tend to just fade to memory. it hurts what happen to fred in the movement, a fresh wound.
Who glorifies Frank Lucas? Capitalist Hollywood who promotes both a negative image of a black man as well as false sense that drug smuggling is about a one big bad guy when in actuality it's people like the CIA behind pedaling drugs in this country?
IM NOT SURE IF it was mentioned as well that bro. Fred was assassinated in the company of his wife while she was in her 9th month of her pregnancy. An important fact that should not go unmentioned which shows and proves the barbaric tactic/ethics the so called power structure displays on the daily basis! One Love Fred and all other lost soldiers!
What the film does not go into is the role of William O'Neal as an F.B.I. infiltrator, he was the man who gave the police a detailed floorplan of Fred Hampton's apartment. Very shocking to say the least. Read the book Agemts of Repression by Ward Churchill and Jim Vanderwall for details leading up to the murder.
Very true. William O'Neal later committed suicide in the late 1980's because of the unbearable guilt he felt as result of his role in the deaths of Fred Hampton and Mark Clark. Also, check out the Eyes on the Prize documentaries. He speaks about his role and his regrets on there. He also speaks about how dangerous it was to show his face but he wanted to speak out. The interview was taped not too long before he died.
Amazing set of videos! This should be shown in highschools as a part of american history! It saddens me that I did not hear of Fred Hampton until the age of 30.
Congressman Bobby Rush! Damn, brothah. How do you reconcile your actions and beliefs as a Panther with your current position in the Capitalistic oppressive power structure? How did Fred's assassination effect you? How did COINTELPRO miss yo' ass? What can we learn about the struggle for true liberation in this country by looking at Fred and then looking at you?
Because he worked with the late Brother Fred Hampton in Chicago and now all of the sudden, he now is part of the greedy and corrupt Uncle Sam racist and lynch mob system.
Is it a disgrace and an insult against the oppressed people of the world.
you gotta wake up too edmils. listen to fred. fred didnt fight the white people, he fought capitalism, he fought the state, he fought w/ whites. Like he said in part 1, we dont fight white capitalism to replace it with black capitalism, we fight it to END capitialism. fred believed race was a product of capitalism, don't buy into the lave logic of race division when we need class unity.
they used a black pig to carry out the death of our brother chairman fred hampton. The police new where to shoot becuase some scary ass nigga gave them the floor plan to the house. This cowards name was William O'neal and in order to get a felony charge drop he joined the Party and became director of security, the white folks used us against us and they still do. Wake up
what really killed it all, what really sadden me was the fact that they had a black man kill Chairman Fred!! i hope this haunts till he dies or until his horrible death!! my fist are raised high
Yo this is one of the best video I've ever seen Fred Hampton was a brilliant mind so of course they had to kill him we can't have a smart black or hispanic cause the goverment is going to kill them oof.
This is what people need to see to open up their eyes....we seem to be living in a time when our youths act blind to what happened just a couple of years ago...remember "Macho Hayana pazia" swahili for the eyes do not have curtains.....so dont place curtains on what happened watch...learn and big ups to the video...really sad though....But he left us with some of the most powerful words...Pamoja
A movie needs to be made of Fred Hampton... like the one that was made of Malcolm X.
