This is the best home made CNC I've ever seen. Theres a market for a machine like this. You just need a tool changer and some decent hardened ways. Run it with a PC, sell it for 15K.
Your machine resembles the machines sold in the USA by Harbor Freight Tools, model #47158. These are popular for CNC conversions but have some limitations. I see that you have the long version of the Y axis and table. If you have time please post some details on the machine's construction, such as what motors, mounts, and lead screws you used on all 3 axes.

6000mm/min is only 236IPM and at 3000RPM with a 4 flut endmill that is a chip load of .0195 it look cool but not the right way to machine. not a bad toy for a home shop how much did it cost to make it?
Very nice setup. The rapid Z-moves are impressive. Unusual to see a X1 with the short Y base and long table. I'm curious, what are the tubes connecting to the X/Y ways for? Central greasing?
Doesnt look too homemade to me.

Great speed. Are you getting a good finish on the parts? It doesn't look that smooth... Use coolant.
How deep are the cuts? What diam of cutter
Thanks
brenck 2 years ago
I forgot the depth of cut..
Maybe diam of cutter is 8 or 10mm

where could i go and get offset printing plate done for my printing press????

very cool, i love the high speed, if you still have the machine, could you post a double convex or concave cut at high feed rate?
i and looking to purchase such a small machine for small aluminum production runs.

sorry,Idon't know double convex or concave cut..

Totally nice. I´m wondering, is the machine accurate - does it meet the demands of machining a high tolerance part? Are you using ballscrews?

The tube is central oil mist lubricating.
CNCx1 3 years ago
It is not high tolelance part. That was only a test.
I'm using normal screw.

what are you using for a the drives and controller? Very cool.
samcoinc 4 years ago
I'm using AC servo drivers(Mitsubishi electric) with Mach3.

What are you using for drives and machine controller? Cool btw.

Feed rate is 6000mm/min and spindle speed is 3000rpm.
I'm using 5 servo motors.(XYZA axes and spindle)
CNCx1 4 years ago
Wow! thats amazing. whats the feed rate for a cut like that? what is the spindle speed? DOC?
Are you using servos or stepper motors?
