i am all into sampling but seriously this is just dumb. what makes sampling fun is digging in the crates until you find that one loop or sample you want to work with.
having the preset samples ready in 30 seconds makes the whole process worthless and has nothing to to with creativity.
like in 5 years people get to you saying " man the way you chopped up that george duke preset sample was just crazy, how did you find that?"
@OBSysteme I definitley agree with you but you can also be like 10x more creative by taking what someone already made and adding your own stuff around it, or into it, adding effects to it and building around it.
As I read the comments. I don't know about you, but my tracks don't sound like the dude making the video. I have the George Duke product. NO MUSIC PRODUCER TRACKS, WILL EVER SOUND A-LIKE, RE-GUARD-LESS IF WE ALL WAS IN THE SAME ROOM, WITH THE SAME SET UP. It depends on the music your doing any. HIP HOP, DANCE ETC . How creative you are to take that factory preset and manipulate the hell out of it is key.
@OnlyOmari THIS IS GOOD FOR WHEN U GO SAMPLE DRY... IM LIKE THAT TOO... I PREFER TO FINDMY OWN SAMPLES THAT IM SURE VERY FEW OR NO PEOPLE WILL HAVE... BUT THIS IS DOPE WHEN U JUST CANT FIND NOTHING... IMO OF COURSE
@MindzEnt I feel you bro, but this is gonna get milked, and the way that it's promoted makes it seem like anyone could just buy this and make somthing, you feel me? Thats gonna lead to alot of people having similar tracks
As much as i love George Duke, and I do think this is a decent product as far as sample libraries go, at the end of the day I get much more self satisfaction listening to a track I put my own time, energy and sweat into and not someone else work then calling it mine
@OBSysteme Then you aren't using your creativity to its full potential. For example a creative artist will take the samples for their tonal value, and create an instrument based on just the sound. In essence you are paying for the resampled vintage equipment and recording techniques. Just how F Major shows you in the demo video, he flipped a simple chord, reversed it and created a melody from it. Creative artist can even take it further.
wow... now i'm not a fan of native instruments, but this looks amazing... or maybe they just picked a good demo guy... idk w/e the demo track sounds awesome
@OBSysteme the point is to use the plugin to restructure these samples because what you say is true if and only if everyone only uses presets. also, this "instrument" is really only targeted at one type of hip hop production.
@OBSysteme Normally you would be correct. But George created this library specifically for the purpose of sampling and mixing. It's not the same as taking a hit song that people know, sampling the melody, and then putting your own spin on it. A lot of young artists don't have money or connections to work with and need quality sound to go somewhere with. Besides we could use a lot more soul in hip hop, so why not?
@OBSysteme part of the magic behind the creation process is using sounds and samples, get off your high horse, unless you you have grammys to show for your so called musical prowess. tired of hearing these youtube critics talk crap about the creation process they have little knowledge about.
@OBSysteme Well presets are used in order not to have to do too much experimenting, they are used for a base or an estimate of the sound u want to crate, and you take it from there, at least that is what you should be doing.
@OBSysteme Guys who are REALLY successful today (like P Diddy, or whatever he calls himself this month) use whatever they can to make music. I'm more old school, being in my mid-40s and not really being into things like hip hop, but I do see room for some technology. But you're right, there should be much more analog in music. i.e. musicians who actually play an instrument and come up with their own distinct sounds
one of the best vids I have seen on here. I come here to see whats up with items I might want. And you did a great job by showing HOW you use it IN a project thanks! I hate those vids when they just show people playin it not using it
@OBSysteme I get your point but there are so many variations you can get from one sound. It's not the ideal situation but sometimes it can deliver that one little thing missing from your project. It's all up to the user.
I think this is great its about the contribution to the music and having the tools as the pros for many years have set up with there unique sounds i can imagine using this in any digital set up ..george has always been into something giving back to the music industry this is cool ..
@lenardbjr haha... are you not noticing the tracks in logic??? notice it says maschine drums on track one... one of maschines coolest features is that you can instantly bounce out your groups in perfect audio loops to your DAW tracks. this is what F-major has done here. you make your beat in maschine then if you want to use your daw just drag and drop the audio...
@djvlive Yeah, theyre trying to streamline the sampling process! WTF?!! And if you have kontakt already, just go look for your own piano samples! Getting this just makes it too easy to sound the same!
@prettdboy lol I know- that was the first thing I thought of was "I'm sure I'll be hearing a hundred and one tracks using these samples recycled time and time again". honestly dope samples though- but your right its making sampling too cheap and easy. i mean the package is $120.
WOW!!! This is going into my sound library immediately!!!
For me his would be an excellent songwriting tool to sketch out progressions and develop a vibe for the song.
