Generally big fan of 4hero but this was a pointless attempt at remixing. Nothing added, vibe is pretty much the same except the original is much better. Admire their their gumption for trying but this is not one of their better effort. Interesting to compare this to "Naima" where they took a seminal Coltrane work and really added something different.
they didn't bring much new to this did they? in other words there's no reason to listen to this version when the original is so similar and better and more soulful and personal as Stevie wrote it in part about is ex-wife. Patti Austin/Quincy Jones' version is still the 2nd best to Stevie's imo.
if you like stevie remixes or interprtations like I do. I would realy recommend the Yesterdays New Quintet Album Stevie. All only instrumental remakes of some of his songs in a raw and funky way. Its even more fun if you allready know the originals. 4Hero has done great work, but for my taste its kind of TO clean. greetings to all musiclovers, Peace!
I love this song. There is also a version by a group called The Everyday People that is amazing (I know it's kind of blasphemous to say but it possibly trumps the Stevie version).
Yes I know.... I like the little additions they give the song throughout... it's so natural and complimentary. I'm really impressed, I gotta see 'em live.

@kattien Except with all the harmonizing, and it's a little more jazzy. Everything else is exactly the same.

Wow the arrangement is lusher than the original. I still prefer the original but this one is such a fulfilling cover.
