The Chuck Berry song "You Never Can Tell" was released in 1964; the exact same year this car was manufactured. The song is not from an earlier era as mrbrandon71 would suggest, and seems completely appropriate for the year of the car.
This video would be better, IMHO, with narration and the history of the car rather than the usual music from the era......and this music is doo wop which was not from the 1960's. Diana Ross and the Supremes , Martha and The Vandellas....anything but this!
working on one of these wondering does the car start if the car is in one of the gears
or does the car start if the lever is not in park
wondering working one of my friends car can't remember if had it in park or and nuetral ,this why the might had trouble starting ,just over looked this
My grandfather had a mint 66 imperial lebaron given to him by an old widow. What a car.It was a joy to ride in.Had a 440 V8 and a gold leather interior.
In 1955, Imperial was registered in the U.S. Patent Office as a separate make and division of The Chrysler Corporation. From that year, until 1983 it was not a Chrysler, because Imperial was a separate make unto itself. For more details , go to Wikipedia and look up "IMPERIAL (AUTOMOBILE)" ,then go to Google , and look up "IMPERIAL SEPARATE MAKE 1955"
@williamg2552 Yes- It's like calling a Cadillac Eldorado a General Motors Cadillac. Imperial was the Flagship make of Chrysler's vehicles for 20 years. Beautiful, elegant and understated, the 1964 is my all-time favorite Imperial.
You can tell this is a '64 by looking at the left side of the dashboard. 1964 was the last year for the push button automatic transmission. The transmission buttons for this car are on the left side of the dashboard.
@flightmaster178 actually it's the elimination of one more parts car..... those derby guys don't know (and don't care) what they're doing, truly the scourge of Imperial owners. Fortunately the same isn't try for unibody 1967 Imps.
