  • 王皓も馬龍も下半身強すぎる(^^;)

    技術以上にフィジカルも大切だと改めて感じる一戦だ~

  • so so so Richtig Cool ja echt suppi

  • Table Tennis Level:ASİAN

  • Ma Long has stepped it up in the last 6 months though

  • Chooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A which??!!... Did he say it was Ma long s one of the best shoots!!! All hus shoots are the best ; ) !!!

  • stfu up with the shouting at the end... it's annoying to both opponent and viewer

  • ma long is better but wang hao has win the match

  • Thank you for posting:)

  • I think Wang Hao is Nadal of table tennis in term of being vocal during his matches

  • wang hao, the master of RPB!

  • its funny how wang hao always seems to manage victory against ma long....but has a hard time with zhang jike...and ma long seems to find victory agains zhang jike...

  • Penhold never dies!!!!!!

  • the bee!! lol

  • keep ur form gud ma long.. al d bst

  • ma long is not at his best. ball is goin into air everytime he is tryin 2 attempt a shot.

  • How come they aren't serving across the table? I'm a novice, and that's how I play? Any help?

  • @Slingstick98 That would only be applicable if this were a double game... you could serve to anywhere on the table from anywhere as long as you do not serve the ball from the side of the table(ie. do not stand at the side of the table and serve the ball, stand infront), you do not hide the ball or the spin you're using from your opponent, and you throw the ball up at least 6 inches(ie. 16 cm from your hand).

  • @Slingstick98 Serving across the table occurs only in doubles matches, but in a singles match you can serve on either side of the table :)

  • Ma Long 's leg seem to be weaken ,why?

  • Whats the song @8:35

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL the wasp

  • I think Wang Hao shouts a lot and this is kind of disrespectful for his oppenent, compatriot and teammate

  • @DimaKats2 Shouting is a strategy in China taught to pump up yourself. When you pump yourself up you get more adrenaline which allows you to react faster. Notice how he doesn't really do so in the beginning but when it becomes more critical, he does it.

  • jesus christ look at this f'ing leg work. too good

  • I think Ma long should play less backhand since he has his supreme forehand.

  • @maxk880 He needed to play more backhand and not leave his wide forehand so open.

  • Does anyone else think that Ma Long has changed his style? I thought he was more of a mid ranged looper, but now he's relatively close to the table.

If you watch his match against Wang Hao in the German open (where the camera view is diagonal to the adidas table) he plays a bit further back. I'm thinking his recent injury has a role in this. Thoughts?

  • But there was definitely a small amount of luck for Hao.

But still, I can't say that Wang Hao wasn't playing smart. He was playing VERY intelligently.

  • Wang Hao definitely deserved this game. He consistently aimed where Ma Long didn't expect it, and he took advantage of Ma Long's weak backhand using his own powerful backhand while also stretching the limits of his superior speed. Wang Hao, the best exploiter on the team, was able to mess up Ma Long's patterns.

scylla24 is right about Long's short game. Maybe Ma Long should play penhold more often to work on it. He's usually able to skip the short game with his powerful FH attacks.

  • @DaKrazedKyubizt I agree, but zhang jike did the same on HIM

  • never seen anyone put ma long back on his heels quite like that... great match

  • i like wang hao and ma long

  • Ma long should have won WTF

  • Click 10x on 7.31min :D

  • Ma long should have won Wang hao clearly won on his luck

  • @gogeta3889 ma long took the final point of the 2nd game on luck, so to say either of them "won on his luck" is irresponsible.

  • anyone know what the name of the song is at the end? 11:30

  • Ma Long + Wang Hao = 2nd generation of Wang Liqin and Ma Lin. Lol the last names are switched this time. Their styles are still similar to their prototypes:

Ma Long = Wang Liqin with a more deceptive backhand

Wang Hao = Ma Lin with a spinnier backhand

  • 05:50 Matrix point, wow!

  • @klostopfer1 ma long was lucky to win the 2nd set, so otherwise he would have been kinda owned by wang ;)

  • @SibelCeck

And WH wasn't lucky to win the 4th set? Watch the point at 5:18

  • why do people still say ma long lacks power? he most definitely does not... he does lack a short game though.

  • wang hao made ma long look very ordinary at points, wang hao played incredibly and im not a big fan of wang hao but he was quality here.

  • Fat poop won only cause of edge- and netballs

  • ma long joueur avec la rigueur chinoise et un jeu a l'europenne magnifique

  • 4:47 Kangouruss match hahahaha

  • Superb play by both players...especially Wang Hao :)

  • Ma long seems to be weak in his footwork

  • maybe Timo Boll ZLC makes him lose, coz the return of the ball had not enough power.

  • @LiveIDs not ZLC.he is using ALC which is similar to his former timo boll spirit.

  • @steven821130 Is he using Tenergy 05 too, just like Timo ?

  • @steven821130 Are you sure?

Look at ML's blade 1:08, 3:34, 4:16, and 7:57 Handle color is grey not blue.

  • @LiveIDs i don't see Timo Boll playing in this match

  • Ma Long has a relatively poor record against Wang Hao because of his serve and short game which allows Wang Hao's RPB to initiate attack and you're in a bad position if you engage in backhand to backhand rallies with Wang Hao. In the past he may be able to outloop Wang Hao but you're not going to do so well against a quite powerful looper in Wang Hao as injuries start creeping in.

Zhang Jike, who beat Wang Hao, has a better serve and also a better backhand to fend off Wang Hao's RPB attacks.

  • @Microbaul Ma Long's strength is his speed and variation according to Liu Guoliang. Speed and variation is not particularly advantageous when you are playing your teammate....

  • I have always liked Ma Long since he first came on scene wtih that big-action forehand and exciting counter-attack game, but so far he has been a disappointment for me on the big stages (well he won at the Pro Tour Grand Final once). As all-around as his game seems to be, his serve and short game seem to be relative weaknesses. Back then he could get away with it by excellent footwork and outlooping his compatriots, but as injuries start to creep in you can see he cannot rely on looping 100%.

  • Honestly, after watching the whole match, i didn't get to see the Invincible forehand power strokes of Ma, and his BH was unstable and made too many errors. Yet his mini BH topspin over the table made him stay in the game, but against Hao it wasn't enough. So i think Ma still hasn't recovered 100%, if you see some of his matches against Xu Xin in 2010 you'll get what i mean

  • Ma Long's backhand away from the table made too many errors, not finishing the stroke...

  • U.S. coverage should hire one of these guys...I'm tired of listening to that whiney boring Sean O'neill or that even more dreadful Danny Seemiller.

  • lol ma long plays a shit in this match

  • Anyone else notice that the Chinese players continue slapping each other's hands (Chinese to Chinese) but began giving firm handshakes to European players?

  • @gimplar I noticed that too, I guess they don't consider the Europeans as that much of a competition maybe..

  • Wang Hao's RPB is nw even better than it used to be. I swear its better than some SH's BHs.

  • @Irfan87 as far as spin goes, yeah I think it's just as spinny as a shakehander's BH but I think the strokes are much much more difficult. Don't forget though that a shakehander can decide to quickly do a BH punch or flat hit, it's a completely different stroke with a penholder.

I can't remember seeing a flat hit being done with RPB. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (I've never played an RPB player or ever seen the technique used in person).

  • @gimplar

Penholders make up almost half the percentage of players at my club. At most of have a high level of skill when it comes to RPB. My RPB is alright. But yeah you are right. I mean in general the SH game provides more flexibility, for FH or BH. But the RPB does have some advantages over SH BH. Especially when its over the table quick whips. If you get what i mean.

  • @Irfan87 I agree that the Chinese have managed to take penhold to the next level and RPB really does make the penhold style less demanding as far as footwork goes. In all honesty though, I think one of the major benefits of RPB is that it's still such a new technique that not many players know how to deal with it. We all get tons of practice in blocking and countering SH BHs or even traditional Penhold punches..but reading a RPB shot (in terms of placement, speed and spin) is a mystery to most.

  • @Irfan87 Of course this doesn't apply to this match. I'm sure Ma Long knows Wang's RPB very well, but possibly not as well as Wang Hao knows Ma Long's BH (I mean, how much time would Ma Long spend training against RPB? His time is better spent training against Shakehand since that's 80% of his matches anyways).

  • @gimplar I don't know if the statement "his time is better spent training against Shakehand" is right. For a player of Ma Long's caliber, 70% of that 80% is dimissable and penholders like Ma Lin, Wang Hao and Xu Xin are all great threats within the elite group which gives Ma Long the most trouble. I am sure Ma Long trains more agaisnt penholders than you'd think.

  • @gimplar But anyways, Wang Hao's RPB is just ridiculously good man. Despite the fact that on principle, SH BH's are usually better. But Hao's RPB is definitely better than a lot SH's BH.

  • i think wang hao changed his backhand. much shorter and wrist based like zhang jike.

  • @plot000000 Yes, I've also been struck recently by how short his takeback is on many shots. Pretty much impossible to judge where he's going to hit it.

  • anyone know what blade ma long is using? (seen at 4:14)

  • Wang Hao is just getting bettter and better. What is it with this guy? He beat Wang Liqin (my favorite) in Yokohama WTTC.

  • Wang Hao was amazing in this match. I don't especially like him but I must recognize that he played very well this semifinal !

  • holy shit wang hao....

  • The wasp got stuck on the rubber??

  • Whereas Zhang Jike was content to block Wang Hao's backhand from mid distance and counterloop whenever he had the opportunity. The high topspin blocks of Ma Long give Wang Hao no trouble but rather the short, low ones and that's what Zhang Jike used more effectively than Ma Long against Wang Hao.

  • Wang Hao's Backhand is amazing!!

  • Wang Hao's reverse backhand loop is so annoying... yet so good

  • It was such a nice tournament!

    atmoshere was so nice!

  • Lomg/Zhang are not going to win till Wang decides to step down.. ;-)

  • @kevn23 too late, Zhang already won

  • Comment removed

  • i was there!

    nice match!

  • やべー!ワンハオすごすぎ!!

  • @tablehitoshi well said !

  • best quality, and that at just 480p in full screen!! *thumbs up*

  • A fly giving WAng hao some anabola/steroid? something? xD

  • Their paddles have no edgetape! Probably because they are reglueing and getting new rubber so often.

  • WTTC 2011 marks the progress n evolution of table tennis..

a decade passed n it just has become a better n better sport! best sport imo :)

wang hao was very lucky today a lot of edge n nets, but he is too conservative against zhang jike, he shud hv shown full gun against zhang also, but 1 day against ma long n zhang jike is tough

    thanks for sharing !!

  • 5:32 killed ma long game

  • Im wondering, when to chinese players plays against each other who does liu guoliang coach or help?

  • @TTStefano92 None. They do not have any coach when they play against each other on a tournament outside of China.

  • @TTStefano92 i think liu guoliang would be in the chinese commentary box coaching the audience

  • ZHANG JIKE WORLD CHAMPION!

  • Ma Long should have won this....

  • @BollForte94 eh, I like Ma Long better, but I think Wang Hao deserved the win more, Ma Long's game atm is kind of one sided in my opinion. He is so good at mid-range looping, that his short game and power is lacking. Most players aren't good enough to take advantage of his relatively weak short game, so even when they attack first, Ma Long can still get into the point, but against players like Wang Hao, whose first attack is high quality, its hard for him to get back in to the point

  • @scylla24 I'd like to agree with this. IN the vid you can see Wang Hao punishing so many of Ma Long's serve and serve returns that it was difficult for Ma Long to get back into the point, which ultimately decided the match. Ma Long could get all the mid-range points he wants but you can see how much inferior his short game is compared with Wang Hao. Also, he loses most of the backhand to backhand rallies because I think he is trying to hang with Wang Hao's backhand too close to the table...

  • @scylla24

Wait, Ma Long lacks power? I hope you mean he just lacks power in his short game. Cos his strokes are very powerful if you ask me.

  • @Irfan87 in tt there are three areas, speed, spin, and power. speed is how quickly off the bounce you hit it, spin is how much spin you give the ball, and power is how much force you give to the ball. Generally, spin and power are almost opposites. If a ball has a lot of spin, it won't have a lot of power. That's why Ma Lin and Wang Liqin are like polar opposite players. Ma Long has a lot of speed, good spin, but actually doesn't have a lot of power, its fast because he hits it off the bounce.

  • @scylla24

Aha i see2. Thanks for the insight man.

  • @scylla24 You know that Ma Longs tactic was always to counterattack, not to be the first attacker but maybe this changed a bit since he got this wicked backhand flick. In my opinion Ma Longs short game is not bad, it was excellent against Ma Lin but against Wang Hao not that good ... his performance was weaker against Wang Hao ... Ofc my view is not that impartial because as you know i am a big fan of Ma Long :)

  • @BollForte94 there is no denying that Ma Long is the ultimate counterattacker, he has mastered it like no other. But that style is ultimately a reactive style. You are reacting to someone's attack. For your average player, their attacks are not high enough quality and therefore Ma Long's counterattack skills trump their attacks. But for first attacks by like Wang Hao, that are often really high quality, the margin of error is just too small, even for Ma Long.

  • @scylla24 In fact when against Wang Hao, Ma Long's weakness is exactly mid-range looping. They are both not extremely good at the short game and both prefer to go to rally asap

  • @scylla24 do you have the same opinion still now? :D

  • @BollForte94 hmmm its hard to say, thus far, in this potentially new and improved form, he seems to have improved his flipping skills, and instead of just going insane speed looping, he takes a little more time to aim, and now has more quality shots as opposed to quantity shots. I am not sure whether Ma Long, aside from the flipping has really improved his short game that much tho. It's still uncertain whether Ma Long would be able to beat Wang Hao on a big stage.

  • lol what

  • @BollForte94 stfu...

  • @BollForte94 why?

  • @BollForte94 double glory for wang hao, then.

  • Amazing!!

  • perfect ball placements by wang hao ¡

  • what blade wang hao is using ? im pretty sure that his blade is not hurricane hao. 6:13

  • @eps0n this is dipper II ;)

  • ma used to pwn wang now its the other way around...

  • Have to admit that Wang Hao is in good shape. Outperforming a handshaker like Ma Long using a pendholder grip is not easy. Still wish Zhang to win the final though

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh he won ripped of his shirt awsome congrats

  • @MrPawany WTF are you talking about? Zhang ripped his shirt Hogan style?

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh yes he did ;)

he lead 3:2 and 10:5, Wang Hao came back, but zhang won 14:12 then ripped his shirt off xD

  • @SibelCeck Holy moly. Would someone please upload the match please?

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh ttC will ;)

we just watched it live on ittf.com

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh a person whose account name is pongwttc2011 has uploaded the entire match, in 5 parts onto youtube.

  • @Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh Ye lol :P
