The Rebels are I think one of the hidden gems of the golden age of Southern gospel. This particular lineup was especially good, with Big Jim on lead and London Parris on the bass.
This thing puts me to tears. I'm such a huge Jim Hamill fan, but I had no idea how good London was until I found some of these YouTube videos. Plus, Horace Parrish was an excellent, smooth tenor; far about most.
I've about decided THIS is one of the most underrated groups out there! Also, you can really understand how much the Kingsmen sound was built around Jim Hamill. THANKS STATESMEN FAN!!
