I think he's married and has kids. He is kind of shy---I heard him on David Dye's World Cafe the other day and he was asked about this song. He's never met her and didn't write it to meet her--its sort of an homage to her as a fellow musician. He thinks she's an amazing drummer. He was actually embarassed to be asked about it.
