Yes, I always thought theists saying that "god is outside of time" was quite lame. First, you really have to come out with an asinine interpretation of most any holy book to reach that conclusion [or you just make it up, more likely.] And second, it really does lead to some sort of supernatural statue that can preform no actions, have no thoughts, and can not "do" anything.
