I agree. I miss the softer sound. Reed sings this well alone but paired with Phil you really expect more of a Don sound--something that compliments Phil. Reed sounds too much like a solo artist here.

Dean Reed wasn't on the ball -- Mr. Everly knew this song by heart, to put it mildly.

Doesn't detract from song -- kinda nice, makes it clear that it really WAS live.

So ein Blödsinn BIENENPABST ich glaube bis heute schämt sich niemand dafür je mit DEAN zusammengearbeitet zu haben.Sogar Armin Mueller-Stahl bezeichnet DEAN heute noch als tollen Typen.Auch Reinhard Lakomy hat viel von ihm gehalten.Ich habe schon ein paar Dokumentationen über DEAN gesehen obwohl er auch dort als naiv bezeichnet wurde, wird immer wieder erwähnt,daß sein Anlieden aufrichtig war.Mir persönlich war ELVIS PRESLEY zu arrogant,diesen Eindruck hatte ich von DEAN nie.

@haarlosglatze Der Herr Bienenpapst ist meist negativ eingestellt. Es ist seine Meinung, meine ist es nicht. Man kann über Dean Reed denken, was man will, aber ein toller Künstler war er. Er ist sicher mit vielem nicht klar gekommen. Ich denke, er ist daran zerbrochen, dass er irgendwie immer für irgend welche Zwecke ausgenutzt wurde. Naiv, was soll das im Zusammenhang mit Dean bedeuten? So würde ich es nicht bezeichnen, aber so wird es gerne dargestellt. LG

Phil Everly war 40 Jahre alt in 1979 und schon ein sehr bekannter und beliebter Sänger,er und Dean Reed waren gute Freunde,deshalb sangen sie das Lied zusammen,das Geld hatte überhaupt keine Rolle.
